I was directed here from a review on the new feature length move from Danis Goulet. 👏👏👏
Danis is my cousin. I'm a very proud family member of hers. She's a great woman&mother&family person..
so good: setting well-established with graceful exposition, well-paced, well-acted and light-handed while still packing an incredible punch. I made so many faces at my computer watching this, especially in the final moments. I'm going to come back and re-watch this from time to time and I suspect I'll find new lessons from it as I look back on it even just in my mind
So stoked for Night Raiders!
Stunning storytelling, compelling and beautifully made.
This was pretty cool. I wish I could hear/understand the Witiko's Cree language a little more clearly. I'd love to see this expanded into a full feature.
It's called "night raiders"
@@lman1006 Thanks!
@hermit7903 To be honest it's not that good though
Excellent film! This was amazing on the visuals and story-telling!
The production design is really impressive to achieve a credible dystopic setting with all the clutter you'd expect in the mise-en-scene. After having watched Prey, I was interested in checking out more native sci-fi and here the Weetigo (aka Wendigo) is depicted as convincingly menacing without CGI, using puppetering. Quite inspired to use a cinema having been overgrown and ended up like a forest, with bear traps around for Weetigo to catch their prey. Sarah Podemski (she's great as Rita in Reservation Dogs) stars here and she sells being a rebel warrior against the occupier settlers, and rather than be a generic tale of encountering a monster to defeat it, she has to convince Weetigo to fight the occupiers. I really want more media around indigenous myths and monsters, cause there are so many to mine from.
Writing this for a school project, and I love the storyline.
I get to watch this for school, it looks intriguing.
Thank you for your content 🙏
Great film!
So good!
Gwendolyn MacEwen called this the Toronto inside Toronto.
That person doesn't exist. There's only Brad 'the Retard' Mcewen from Australia who lives in Canmore. Everything else is just BS. Oh and BTW, Bell is a crappy company. I hope someday they go under. What a loser you are. If you send me a response, I won't read it. I have better things to do than deal with people's stupid games.
effective! very effective
