I have just watched the construction video for the building of the actual cycling track and many moons ago I witnessed and managed to ride on the track that was built at Meadow Bank stadium in Edinburgh for the 1970 Commonwealth Games, but it sadly was bulldozed out of existence some months ago. I wonder if it is possible for you to let me have some further details of just how much the stand alone cost of the track structure was as I'm trying to put together some sort of cost estimate for the provision of a basic track sub-contract (excluding the cost of any building to put it in), in order to try and convince my local sports council that a timber track in itself is not the costly facility the London velodrome cost as the majority of the final cost was down to a very expensive building !!
