      yeah and today Jonas followed him for longer than the last time. So it shows that Jonas got better at producing huge accelerations. If he keeps improving Tadej will have no advantage over him in the future.

    Pogacar has more tools and is a much better athlete overall. Vingegaard can match Pogacar in the TDF only through careful planning and pacing. And it's not even clear if he can do it without such a strong team and an overconfident Pogacar. Pogacar races to win, year 'round. And to come back like this after recovering from a serious fracture is already extremely impressive.

    • @TheRealDuckofDeath
      @TheRealDuckofDeath Год назад

      Vingegaard won the Criterium weeks before TDF started. He's also won three events this year. They are extremely closely matched riders, Pogacar got a bit more sprint, Vingegaard got a bit more stamina. The differences are quite minimal and it is true the differentiator can definitely be team tactics, like it was in 2022. I wouldn't write off Vingegaard based on Pogacar's past. Vingegaard is also a young rider evolving hard every season. His stamina is definitely paying off on time trials, which often turn out to be deciders in TDF.

      He's a divisive topic. He's a cheat and he's done horrible things, but he's also provided a lot of entertainment on the bike. We can go either way, but so many cyclists have been caught doping who are still idolised.

      When pogi "drops" jonas, it is only by a few seconds. You can't win the tour that way.
      Because when Jonas drops pogi (yes, that can actually occur), it is usually with more than a minute. With big mountain stages ahead, which is in favour of jonas. and that is why pogi is NOT the favourite. If he were to be the favourite, he should have at least 2 minutes on jonas after Grand Colombier
