This movie has something that is all but forgotten these days in Hollyweird. It actually had a writer that could produce a good story. If you have a good story, you don`t need special effects, car chases, or explosions to keep people watching.
It's an independent film, of course it's different from the usual mainstream movies. There are also tons of movies being made today that don't have special effects or car chases. But As soon as I saw the word "Hollyweird" and then the list of guns you are showing off, I knew I was dealing with yet another "genius". I am surprised you weren't offended by the fact that they questioned the whole existence of Christianity in this movie. I figured, idiots, guns and churches usually go well together in the US.
@@PincoPallino-zh8wm What sets the film apart is that it had a good story/good writer. Something almost unknown in films today. Honestly no one reacts to this movie, it’s so underrated but it’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. And as someone who was raised strict Christian (no longer practicing now - didn’t have to do with the movie btw) this movie combines religion, history and the human condition to create a new story that sparks thought about creation and our personal history as human beings. Again, thank you for watching this movie, it also deserves several rewatches.
I saw this film as a Christian with no prejudice and enjoyed the various disciplines and concepts woven into the story. I was not raised in the faith and was largely an atheist in my early years. The Christians I shared this movie with were so varied in their reaction. And I found that the biggest dividing factor (enjoying the story vs condemning) was the connections (human and spiritual) in their lives.
One of my absolute favourite movies ever, the idea is awesome and the music is just so perfectly done, it is so many pieces that are connected in such a spectacular way, they didn't miss much in the history and science and all, because the idea to the movie started in a forum where people discussed everything to the core and close to perfection
I am absolutely in love with your style of reaction. You don't just sit there and watch you engage with what you're looking at which makes it almost like watching a movie with a friend
In fact it would be the opposite I fullly believe religious ppl especially Christian’s would hate this movie just from personal experience. The church I went to as a child would berate parents for letting their kids watch things like Harry Potter or petter pan saying that they taught children to follow the teachings of witchcraft. Most of the Bible thumpers get angry and berate ppl if you present something to them that doesn’t exactly line up with their beliefs. Needless to say there were many reasons why I’m no longer apart of the church
I find it a bit strange how you seem to equal "high budget" with "good". I look at films through the same lens as video games; triple-A games might look good, but they often lack creativity and depth, while low-budget indie games are more prone to take risks and explore new territories.
@@Madvisionn don't worry, their are movies almost nobody reacts like this. That happend in famous movie too like Shakespeare in Love, A Beautiful Mind and Straight Outta Compton.
Here are some similar feature films I have personally viewed where dialogue drives the narrative: - 12 Angry Men (1957) - My Dinner With Andre (1981) - Before Sunrise (1995) - Closet Land (1991) - Mindwalk (1990) The Man From Earth is also included in this list.
"God On Trial" is another movie that is nearly entirely shot in one room with just conversations -- but at a Nazi concentration camp. Very, very intense.
You don't have to worry about copyright with this movie. It's on youtube, and the creators even put it on the pirate bay. They just want people to watch it.
Hi! I would object against your final summarisation, I mean there are a way too many films with astonishing techniques but with zero meaning, and this one really glued even you into your chair even with its small-budget apperance. The film shares some in-depth historical facts, but rather focuses on the other people's reaction, the joker, the one who knows the best, the religious fundamentalist, the bitter, the lover, and finally the big black guy, who had the biggest inqury of all. I was happy even at the first time I watched it, because it was not a cliché story, it didn't had the romantic line so emphasized as movies usually have. My final thougts were by the way like the black professor's words, I felt that I see new horizons in this life. Even if I will die one day, only the thing that someone may live through an through everything and will carry the life forward made me feel that I can feel the fresh air out of the water...
Many of the actors are well known to star trek fans. Many of them have guess stared more then once and some even had time as maine characters on one of the shows.
As much as I love this film, I think the ending is too definitive, throughout the rest of the movie there’s a lot of discussion for and against but the ending gives you a "This one is right".
I just checked your community tab.... do you have a list of movies to vote on or are you taking random suggestions? And if the latter, what sort of movies do you enjoy watching (because I have a couple of ideas, depending on the genre)
