I only want to mention that the sounds in pop-folk aren’t “Gypsy”.They’re Balkan folk melodies(mainly from Bulgaria,Greece and Serbia) and don’t have anything in common with the Traditional Romani,Gypsy music.Just because Romani people listen to this music(just like Bulgarians as well) doesn’t mean it is “Gypsy”.Bulgarian Chalga contains mainly Bulgarian folk elements.Greek Chalga contains Greek folk elements and Serbian Turbo-folk contains Serbian folk elements.Sometimes they interact with each other but it’s normal because these are neighbouring countries and cultures.
In Bulgaria chalga is heavily influenced by Gypsy people who originate from India and Pakistan region. That said Gypsies have their own traditions and music developed during the years which influenced us, Indians have no point of contact with Bulgaria to influence it.

@@Beatusable the rhythm is not a characteristic of Indian music, but solely Roma music aka gypsy music. Indian music’s rhythm is not repetitive and very diverse unlike the gypsy rhythm which is more like reggaeton.

It doesn't sound like Hungarian or English or whatever gypsy music because they have different influences on their music. I would also add that the reggaeton rhythm is also not a gypsy rhythm, but just a modern rhythm adopted because it's popular right now. A more traditional one is the 9/8 kuchek rhythm at least for Turkish speaking Roma. But there are many different groups of them so their music and traditions vary. People just tend to lump them up but they're not all the same.
