Thanks you so much for the kind words my friend ! I'm glad you enjoyed, I hope to have more wilderness camping videos and less gear reviews in the near future. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
The rain started here while I was filming this vid and came down hard for the rest of the day and night, 90 % of our snow is gone too. The rambler is the heaviest knife I own so as a one tool option it's my choice...not a replacement for an axe or saw but in a pinch it will get you through. This is the second time that a couple of scene clips get rejected while down loading, I'm not sure why ?? I wanted to show in real time making that pot hanger in the field. Thanks for watching Mark
Thanks Jacqueline, a knife is definitely not a replacement for an axe or a saw but in a pinch it can get you through ! Thanks for watching and commenting
Thanks, I got the idea from " Tinman bushcraft " the nice thing about it is that it adjusts from side to side as well as up and down. By moving side to side you can dry items such as socks or gloves with out getting fire damage and up and down is great to control the heat for cooking !. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate the support.
Thanks Wayne, you're right, a knife a saw and an axe and there's not much you can't build in the bush? Thanks for taking the time to comment I appreciate the support !
Great video! Love my Rambler Bushcrafter, got Derrick to make it in the CanX 60 steel and leave it untouched after heat treat so it has a black coating on, hoping this will make it a little more durable to rust, but time will tell, no problems so far!
I love my rambler too ! Mine is 01 tool steel and I forced a light patina on my blade for to help from corrosion...so far so good. Derrick is a great guy to work with and as far as the quality and price ...XXX Knives are hard to beat ! Thanks so much for leaving a comment ! 👍
Agreed, XXX Knives really are hard to beat, have a Privateer as well, delivered to the UK at a better price than i can get a lot of production knives for! Great channel, subbed
Love my TripleX Rambler: excellent Geometry & ergonomic design. Fits in hand like a glove, & with its "Loon-beak" of a blade, @. 5", this "spear point" is just right for the bush-crafter's job. Derick used A2 rather than O1 steel at my request: O1 has a touch finer grain, but being higher on manganese, the edge stability and corrosion resistance are a bit better, with A2, useful here in the rainy West Coast, were tanic cedar abunds. Both O1 & A2 are excellent... Of course I also have a faithful Nor'Easter, my TripleX favourite "Beast"... just In case, I go deeper into cougar territory... (Both knives pairing up well...) What I like best about TripleX knives is the quality of the Heat-Treatment Derrick puts into the steel: no rolling, no chipping, just a great bite & sharp point in this well balanced " Rambler"
For sure, I love mine. I'm not a steel expert but would you recommend A2 over D2 ?...I'm on the east coast and do a lot of canoeing so was thinking of getting one made in a higher rust resistant steel. Thanks for watching and commenting !
I just checked out your channel and am looking forward to see some bushcraft / outdoor videos on the beautiful West Coast ! I'll subscribe and put the alarm on so when you do add content I'll be notified ! 👍
is that the same pot hanger as the vid in the canoe or did you actually find 2 perfect branches? if I find one of those I am going to bring it everywhere. lol great video brother and that is a sweet knife.
Hello from Austria! I like your videos because they are very naturally. Thank you for your work and your comments. Good job !

Great job Wayne. The Rambler is a nice knife for sure. We got the rain Saturday night and all day Sunday. Washed most of our snow away

A nice technique for cutting wood with a knife " beaver style " haha thanks for the tip
Nice knife btw.
Thanks Martin...the "Beaver chew" technique...sounds really Canadian eh lol

Yup the same kind, just built it from the surrounding woods...it's actually a configuration of branches often found naturally with in the tree !
