12 years already and I keep coming back like if it was yesterday, there's just something about this sound that doesnt age, I remember it was one of the songs that introduce me to this genre.
They opened for Protest the Hero with this song, it was one of the most amazing things i've ever seen. sounded exactly like on the album, but bigger and with more presence.
Amazing song,, amazing band. I dont speak english very well but in this lyrics is only one word that i dont know what means.. is "bewilderneness".. i found this lyric in a few sites and always appear that word like this.
Anyone know any other bands like this other than the more popular ones like tesseract and periphery? I fuckin love these guys and I wish there was more music like this
yes i know the band, substantially i know them all like Textures, Skyharbor, Reflections, Intervals, Monuments, Fell Silent, SikTh, Animals As Leaders... .... textures, monuments and algorithm i saw live.
Ci3MNiC Dude that is some awesome instrumental stuff! He uses a 6 string that mimics an 8 string guitar. I thought he uses a full blown 8 or 7. That dude has some talent. Though I wish he could add some vocals to it.
The best band in this whole genre in my opinion. vildhjarta's sound creates an atmosphere that is uncomparable to any other band in djent. really looking forward to thousands of evils
Awakening! Let wake all power and possibility that is hiding and sleeping. Take out inner space, the internal world. 覚醒!!己に秘めて眠っている全ての力と可能性を目覚めさせる。内的世界を内宇宙を表に出すんだ。
I'm still trying to get into Tesseract. Is Mercenary also djent? I may look into them. Yeah, probably just one of those things you can't explain. Same with me and As I Lay Dying. Not taking into account the recent drama surrounding Tim Lambesis of course.
At the beginning there's a typical 4/4 bounce rhythm with the guitarists and bassists all playing one note. That IS a modern breakdown. What I'm saying is that a lot of modern metal (djent included) has predictable sections devoted to playing one note over and over again to emphasize rhythm (which gets unoriginal incredibly quickly due to little melody). The only way other genres of metal are comparable is solos, which all utilize different notes and rhythms anyway.
@pombel88 i thought the video had incredible feeling, kinda otherworldly, the visualization leaves you with the ability of imagination.. but you have to use your own ability and creativity.. i thought it was perfect..
TBH, Djent is just a term rather than a Genre, for me it's only the term to describe the sound that the poly-rhythmic Double Pedals patterns fused with syncopated palm mutes from a down tuned guitar make to create this so called "genre", but to me it's more of a modern Progressive and Technical infused Metal genre...or as Meshuggah (whom were the first band to pioneer this form of genre) would call it "Experimental" Metal.
As much as I'd like to disprove that, I have to admit, it does sound a lot like TesseracT, but I'm pretty sure Tesseract weren't the first to do that and they won't be the last. Tesseract kills though.
They all tend to follow the same formula. Verses don't follow a formula, choruses don't follow a formula, solos don't necessarily follow a formula (unless there's scales being spammed); the only real formulaic thing about music is common chord changes which metal largely abandons and a verse-chorus structure (not the verses or choruses themselves, but how they are ordered).
This was the song that introduced me to Djent years ago. So underrated.

same man same.
They opened for Protest the Hero with this song, it was one of the most amazing things i've ever seen. sounded exactly like on the album, but bigger and with more presence.
The drummer makes me smile so much
The Outro is beautiful. This song is beautiful.
Outro sounds like Animals as Leaders, veeeeery good
Waking up to this song late in the night, after having dozed off.... A surreal experience.
I get chills every time listeninig to this
Still come back to this album! Amazing stuff
One of the guitarists' guitars say "thall". Epic.
His voice is so powerful. It gives me chills everytime.
Happy drummer doesnt care if he plays powerful music. He stills smiles
as much as i love these guys, the drummers face just makes me crack up everytime
I second that
yeah he's havin a good time
The entire band looks ridiculous hahaha
Man i love his Vocal performance it really matches the harsh yet melodic style of the music a great band all-around
they should of plugged their instruments into the trees
If a band did this in a music video I would absolutely lol 😂 😂
STILL WORTH FULLSCREENING
Lol the THALL stickers

@@Panda_SMM Classic rock.
love the drummers face through out the video haha
What a powerful voice
@TheMeshuggah36 the epicness of the drummers face produces the energy needed for the mic. Makes sense to me..
Yepppp
These guys are great!
Wow clean vocals sound almost the same as Soilwork-s. Impressive.
Killer band, see me left of stage next tour
Omg this made me giggle, along with the top comment about drumming
They should make a movie from this album
Too true man,
I suppose I like the style though so I am happy listening to both bands.
+1 for drummer's playing-face. Every real human has one. Let your playing-face fly, bro!
I came straight from Frost/Hail to this one. I was not disapointed.
Pretty cool song. Really enjoyed 2:32.
The drummer's face....OhmySTAHHHP.

Anyone know any other bands like this other than the more popular ones like tesseract and periphery? I fuckin love these guys and I wish there was more music like this
Look at my friend shades of black project.... mat is good
Check out The Algorithm. That will blow your mind
yes i know the band, substantially i know them all like Textures, Skyharbor, Reflections, Intervals, Monuments, Fell Silent, SikTh, Animals As Leaders... .... textures, monuments and algorithm i saw live.
Ci3MNiC What was that show like?
Ci3MNiC Dude that is some awesome instrumental stuff! He uses a 6 string that mimics an 8 string guitar. I thought he uses a full blown 8 or 7. That dude has some talent. Though I wish he could add some vocals to it.
There needs to be an uneven structure video game. Awaken, Frost, & Hail look TOO good to not be badass cutscenes
Drummer at 1:13 : ''HURHURHURHUUUR!!''
i will say it reminds me a lot of Vildhjarta
mmmm I think his clean vocals are quite different, but I can see your point...despite that, I like it
Great song! Is there anywhere i can find the lyrics?
groove till death-THALL
@djentlover Quite true!
@Tubember Why not both? If I were in this band and were on my way to shoot this vid I'd toke and be stoked all at the same time.
The best band in this whole genre in my opinion. vildhjarta's sound creates an atmosphere that is uncomparable to any other band in djent. really looking forward to thousands of evils
They did an album with vildjhartas vocalist. It's called 8
Is any guitarist of Vildhjarta is in Structures?
Awakening! Let wake all power and possibility that is hiding and sleeping. Take out inner space, the internal world.
覚醒!!己に秘めて眠っている全ての力と可能性を目覚めさせる。内的世界を内宇宙を表に出すんだ。
4:18 dreads on far left is just standing there.
I can't help thinking of the flash game "Death vs. Monsters" at 4:00
I'm still trying to get into Tesseract. Is Mercenary also djent? I may look into them. Yeah, probably just one of those things you can't explain. Same with me and As I Lay Dying. Not taking into account the recent drama surrounding Tim Lambesis of course.
The mouth breathing drummer makes me crack up.
Howard Jones and the singer from Chimaira had a baby :D
hexagon = pentagon+pentagram, coincidence i think not;]> awesome song
Some great screams, then at 1:45, even better singing
Thall
Cupping the mic... smh... sounds good though, so I presume the mic wasn't cupped in the recording!
Yes really.
@TheMeshuggah36 There is no need for electricity, they have a power level over 9000.

holy shit this band is abslute mindblowing shit
Fucking truly amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the description they spelled "Intellidjent" wrong.
@Pingu616 haha were you tripping to this?
3:01 groove button
Reminds me A LOT of Soilwork.
0:25 I swear he's saying "I love Fluttershy inside of my brain!" o_O
THALL
those dreads are so fucking sick
TesseracT meets Chimaira!
@vercruysse1988 It's more so the album as a whole, which is very atmospheric. :)
hey brother if you like skyharbour try hydrodjent. its a project by the same guy who plays the lead in skyharbour
Thall.
@pombel88 i thought the video had incredible feeling, kinda otherworldly, the visualization leaves you with the ability of imagination.. but you have to use your own ability and creativity.. i thought it was perfect..
The Drummer's face makes this
Soilwork?
His voice reminds me of Bjorn
0:21 that face
It must be really tough to play drums with an epic face throughout the song...
Holy Thall this music video was great as shit

thall
You don't like Periphery or Meshuggah?
I smell a bit of mastodon in this
Tesseract's brotha
Ohhhh 1-stringcore my favorite
oh, you're so original.
Liam Yates more original than this song, in any case
not really.
Weeaboo Destroyer Cause no song is the sum of its parts, just what the guitarist is doing
their guitarists are more than capable. sometimes music calls for simplicity.
Thall is a djent thing :D
1:09 looks kinda creepy. He's just standing there. :P
Fear Factory has really slipped
They are a lot better at 1.25 speed.
hahaha drummer at 0:20
