- This video was filmed back in September, and as I said in the intro, it was supposed to be the first video on this channel! But I ended up uploading some smaller hauls first instead. However this one was too good not to share - so many great larger size designs from the 1940s!

My name is Angela. I’m a seamstress and designer who primarily posts videos under the name Angela Costumery. However I recently started collecting and reselling vintage sewing patterns. Here I’ll be posting hauls of my finds - which come from etsy, eBay, estates, and the internet in general.
I have a preference for patterns from the 1940s and 1950s, but I’ll collect anything from the 1900s, 1910s, 1920s, 1930s, and the 1960s too! I try to buy a variety of sizes and brands (mccalls, simplicity, vogue, hollywood, advance, etc.) to keep my shop filled with something for everyone.
I think it’s wonderful that a relatively fragile paper product that is decades old can maintain its functionality and be useful and inspiring to someone so many years after it was created. It’s one of the reasons I love working with vintage patterns - and one of the reasons I’ve come to love selling them, too.
I really enjoy the process of examining, and documenting the condition of vintage goods. Along with counting the pieces and describing their functionality. It’s quite therapeutic to me, and something I’ve come to view as a hobby. I enjoy the photographing and listing parts a little less, but I like knowing those steps will lead to a vintage pattern once again ending up in the hands of a creative individual with plans to construct it!
However by FAR my favorite part of the process is opening my new acquisitions for the first time and examining the designs in detail. This channel allows me to share that part of the process with all of you! I hope you’ll subscribe to see more hauls, and check out my shop linked above.
If you’re looking to sell a large quantity of vintage patterns as opposed to buying them, you can reach out to me at countedandcurated@gmail.com and I might be interested!

Oooh I've got an idea for a series on the main channel. The stray pieces and partial patterns need some love before the go to the graveyard. You should try to frankenstein a garment using those odd pattern pieces. Will it be chaos? Probably? Will you have to make alterations and sizing changes to the scrapped pieces? Likely. Might it be frustrating winging it? Yes. Would I watch you ultimately make a lovely piece? Yes. I love watching makers creativity fluorish on stuff like this!
I forget her name, but there is someone you can send stray pieces, envelopes and instructions to and her goal is to unite them into full patterns. Stephanie Canada mentions her in some of her videos.
Thank you so much for buying and selling children's patterns, I love buying and planning and sewing these amazing outfits for my daughter. Maybe I'll spend the money and buy patterns for my self one day, is it normal to think she's worth it but that I'm not necessarily worth it? Just me?
Love unboxing patterns videos . So many interesting patterns
I’ll be keeping an eye out for those 70s patterns for sure!
Love these videos! I find them so interesting and fun seeing all the designs xxx
I find these videos so relaxing and fun to watch 💙 As someone who started successfully following sewing patterns this past year, it’s so exciting to see the possible garments that can be created with all of these! Mega cheese ball, I know lol, but it makes me happy to think about :) I came here from your other channel (which I also love), and just wanted to say thank you for all this content; I genuinely love it!
That 10.5 inch doll pattern is for Little Miss Revlon
Wow, is cool. Can You share someone patterns in PDF for printing.
Love seeing you go through all these patterns, it's inspiring and relaxing, about those that are in rough shape, I'm interested in them if you have any big sizes 20 and up, even if you don't count them and such, hope this finds you well, best whishes
If it’s not factory folded, and it’s a single size pattern, couldn’t you make it and sell the pattern after? Or do you prefer to keep the patterns from what you’ve made?
I could, I just have a lot of patterns already - so the likelihood of me actually making something from it, even if I love it, is slim! I'll probably keep one or two from this lot but I try to push myself to sell rather than justifying why I should keep more lol!
@@countedandcurated6780 Ahhh... yes. I know the reality of my project list being far too long for what I can get to.
What is your ebay seller name, so we can look for the patterns you are selling on there?
She sells them on Etsy, and her shop is the same as here, Counted and Curated.
@@CapnNugget I know about her etsy shop, but she has an ebay one too, she mentioned it in the video. Patterns that she doesn't feel are good enough to sell on etsy go on ebay, unless she puts them in as an extra bonus.
I haven't listed any there just yet - when I get to it I'll definitely announce it on instagram first. So it is probably easier to follow me there than on ebay. But my username is angelaclay2017 / www.ebay.com/usr/angelaclay2017 !
@@countedandcurated6780 Thanks, Angela. I follow you on instagram, so I will keep an eye open 😊 (I have to use a different user name over there as my real name is already taken by someone with the same name 😎 )
