Idk if it's because of his accent, how he modules or what but sometimes I just CAN'T understand a thing of what he's saying 😭. I just hear sassaablhabssds like literally. Send help :( ??! Also, i still have a long way to go with English... But the thing with not understanding certain accents happens way too often 😭
@@izcrem same with me, sometimes when I'm listening to his podcast, there are words that I can't clearly understand I'm suck with the accents. Thanks to Dive Studios for uploading the vids. We can watch it while reading the captions
I love when Jae talk with english, i can understand when he talk nd sometimes make me dont undrstnd. Nd my brain automatic search the grammar or whats jae say in dictionary. Bcz frm jae i have a more motivation to learn more about english, anything
Everything is a biased opinion, that’s a main thing in philosophy. Even if we all agree on something, we are all thinking of it in a biased way, we just agree on enough things to convince ourselves that we are not being biased and that our view is the real and general view.
Jae really know what he is able to do. He choose politic in the college because he like to debate (idk exactly how he said, but that's the information that I got). Look at him now, he really good at explaining every recognitive bias type.
question: anime recommendations? me: ooo i've been waiting for this one turn- jae: pixar, disney, little mermaid me: 👁👄👁 i was actually expecting some anime recommendations LOL
Am I the only one who does not check the views before watching videos on RUclips. I just read the title and if I am interested then I watch. I am partly a visual learner so I think the thumbnail has an influence a little influence on me. I had this topic in my psychology class in high school. I thought it was easy and interesting, but in a test with multiple choice I almost failed it. All the examples were very similar, this podcast is giving me flashbacks.
Cognitive biases also come into play a lot with mental health/mental illnesses, because they confirm or support the distorted thoughts and over-power rational thinking and problem solving.
I might catch up to listening to Jae's podcasts when I go somewhere or When I go back to doing spring classes next year so . I do listen to jae's podcast on my way to my class but knowing I have a couple mins before I'm late oop It happened to me
I totally agree with the information bias cause some people have plenty to say or to write but the point is not there....while brief statements can give you direct point...I remember my prof notes saying “don’t roam around the bush” 😂
it’s so cool how I learned these points in AP psych in high school, and here they are, presented in a much more entertaining way by an asian Justin Bieber
Damn I studied those biases in one of my subjects last semester and I’ve never paid attention to them 🤣 hearing him talks about it makes it moooreee interesting
okay i did the dunning-kruger effect thingy. so im from an non-English speaker country and i stan kpop. one day, this girl asked me "why do u even like kpop, u dont even know the meaning" (she didn't say that in English) and i replied "well why do u listen to songs that're in english when you cant even speak in english?" so is that bad or- anyways CMIIW and stan day6
I've watched this episode many times, but when i watched the last one, i realized that i just already knew what they were talking about. imma stupid LOL
In Behavioural Science, being irrational doesn't necessarily means bad. I mean you can actually utilise people/society's cognitive bias to give them nudge, to give them options in choosing better decision. Well, that's what my lecturer said back then xD
Just a clarification: it's not wrong to be cognitively biased. It is natural to have a cognitive bias since science isn't actually purely objective. This is often emphasized in research. There is no absolutely objective research, subjectivity is applied in the interpretation of results and statistics.
I have pre- and post-purchase rationalization. Lol. 😅 And I super love Little Mermaid and Hercules OSTs too! (My cognitive bias says we're meant to be! Hahaha~)

this reminded me of "the veil of ignorance" in philosophy
"let's not be biased, let's be perfect" - jae 😂
Fact: Jae and Diane are the perfect people for HDIGH, nobody could have done this series better. Period.
Jae really know what he is able to do. He choose politic in the college because he like to debate (idk exactly how he said, but that's the information that I got). Look at him now, he really good at explaining every recognitive bias type.
This podcast really boggles my mind! It feels like i m talking to one of my friends who really likes deep talks!
i love how these two interact and develop their convo. so respectful and on sync hahah
I'm cognitively biased towards him.
Not sure if that makes sense but, yeah.
dive studio's gave us jae's content everyday. thank you so much 😭
SOMEONE GET DIANE ON CAMERA NOW
We just discovered that Diane is not a MyDay 😂 “He’s a drummer ?” Lol
I love watching Jae lol he could stare at a wall for hours and i'd still sit and watch him
Jae is my favorite person in this world

biases are cool to know to because it helps you become more self aware and then you can communicate better and build stronger relationships

Cognitive biases also come into play a lot with mental health/mental illnesses, because they confirm or support the distorted thoughts and over-power rational thinking and problem solving.
Jae: It just makes me want to confess all the things I’ve wronged you with “What have you wronged me with?!” Jae: moving on.... 😂

The Police sang "Englishman in New York." Great song.

Jae's pronunciation
My question is.. Why these day i don't watching anything except of jae's podcast? WHY?
In Behavioural Science, being irrational doesn't necessarily means bad. I mean you can actually utilise people/society's cognitive bias to give them nudge, to give them options in choosing better decision. Well, that's what my lecturer said back then xD
I thought that it meant like my brains bias in a group 🗿

Next time talking about the Dunning Kruger effect in more detail, It's an amazing topic I thought
