Lassie - Episode

Cully finds a parrot, but when the winged menace makes a mess of his place, he palms it off on poor Ruth as a birthday present.TRIVIA: The parrot used in this episode is a Double Yellow Head or Yellow-headed Amazon, probably the best known of all the Amazon Parrots. They are native to Guatemala, although they were also once found in great flocks along coastal Mexico, Belize, and Honduras. They inhabit rainforests and mangroves, but aren't above populating human communities along the southern California coast as flocks now reside in San Diego. Both male and female average 16 inches in length including the tail. They are very intelligent and clever birds that enjoy human company and are easily tamed and trained to be very good talkers and singers - thus the perfect choice for this funny and lighthearted Lassie episode.
