It's a pretty sad state of affairs when a 13 year old game with some mods is better than the new released rugby titles. Just wish konami would drop PES and make a rugby game. With a record 54 million Japanese watching the rugby WC last year hopefully we could get a decent rugby game.
Tell me about it but unfortunately its all we've got 😔 I heard somewhere that EA will be expanding there sports catalogue again soon so maybe there is some hope for a decent game. Your right about Konami, they'd make a great Rugby game.

Hi Bears Gamer! Do you know if when I plug a PS3 or PS4 controller into my PC, will it have same controls as the PS2? Or even, would a bog standard PC game controller like one by logitech etc. I've tried to get remap my xbox one controller and had no luck. Also, I've been struggling with putting the ball into scrums. Any idea what button?
I can't really comment on any controller apart from a PS4 one as that is what I use. I'm not sure if it is mapped perfectly like the PS2 controller but I'd say it must be close. I went into the tutorial and just wrote all the different controls down so I could get used to them. To put the ball into the scrum on my controls it is X and 🟥 to hook 👍

I also tried to download an Xbox emulator, but it seems the rugby08 pc game needs to be in an Xbox executable format. Any advice would be much appreciated please.

By opposite, I installed DS4 windows to play with my ps4 controller and once the game launched most of the keys work very well but I can not find the touches percussion, avoidance and was fuss. I also can't change players with L2 when I'm in defence. The rest works very well. Thank you for your help. (sorry for my English)
You should be able to map the buttons using the DS4 software. The L2 works fine for me. Not sure what you mean about touches but if it's the fend off etc then hold L2 and square, circle, triangle and X for each move.
Unfortunately the crashes have no fix at the moment but the guys over at the rugby forum are looking into it. So as soon as there is a fix I will post it on my community tab, so subscribe to keep up to date 😉
these are teams from like 2017 but im not really bothered about that. some of teams arent in the right team for example the exeter chiefs have all the chiefs players, nz maori is the toulon team. i dont know if something went wrong while installing it. also tournaments keep crashing as soon as i start one

Just press CTRL+A if you want to select everything m8. Also, is there any way I can change everything except the kits? I love the old Quins kit too much to change it to the greasy new one. I just don't want to have missing files. I suppose I could try and port the uniforms from the base game, but I don't see them in the files and I'm not sure how to unpack them.

Get the new roster and change the file name so it’s exactly the same as your current default roster. Then just drag it to where your current roster is and let it replace it.

Amas mod is probably the way to go as it has less crashing. The link takes you to the forum and then I think you need to go back to page 4 to find the links.

Have you used the profile from the files you've downloaded? Sometimes that is an issue, the old profile won't be compatible so use the one in the patch files.
I have a problem.. the teams are from 2017 (in my game) but in your video you have teams from 2020/21 with Itoje...etc... How can I have the same teams as you ? (Sorry for my English I’m French)
@@FootballWomanager I just copied the roster file in each of the two MODS, then in the game I went to "My rugby" and the teams were from 2007 so I clicked on "reset rosters to defaults" and then the teams were from 2017 no 2021
You just need 1 roster file. I would rename it to be the same as you default roster, then drag it to the folder so it replaces it. I'm not sure why it's 2017, it should be either 08 or 21.
First you need to go into squad management and make a change to a team and save it. This will make the default roster file appear next to the profile file.
If your game keeps crashing for whatever reason - make sure you copy the profile file which is included with the patch and also play around with resetting squads to default, hope this helps!

Have you replaced your roster file with the one in the downloaded mods? Make sure you change the new roster file to the same name as your original one before you make the swap.

You need to go into the game for the first time, go to squad management, make a change to a team and then come out, it will ask you to save it. Once you've saved it the roster folder will appear in the correct folder 👍
@@FootballWomanager i managed to sort it but is it just me or does the new patch seem to cause the game mechanics to change. eg, the lineout function has changed entirely, offloads are next to useless and are never received and constant handling issues. High ranked players dropping the ball continuously
There is a newer patch on the rugby forum by ama called TRF 21 and I believe that fixes alot of the issues, perhaps delete this one and give that a try. Same method.

If you've gone to squad management in game, made a change to a team lineup and saved it then the roster folder should appear next to the profile folder.

So have you swapped your roster file with the one in the mods? You need to make sure the new roster file is called exactly the same as your original one so that it replaces it. If you are struggling to find your roster file it's because you need to go into the game, make a change to a team and save it, then a roster file will appear.

You need to swap your own profile with the one that came in the patch files. That was my mistake in the tutorial as I deleted the ones which came with the mod but you need to swap them with your current profile.

I believe so as the main part of the patch just replaces, kits, graphics etc but don't quote me 100% on that. It may lead to crashes.

Just Google DS4, it's a software you download to your device which tricks it into thinking it's an Xbox 360 controller. It's real easy 😁

Have you loaded the game and made a change to a roster, once you do this save the game and it will create your .ros file.

For some reason, PRO14 ends up as Super Rugby on my Premiership and PRO14 Mod. Is it meant to be like this?

You need to download the new roster file and replace your current one with that. It will be 1 of the 3 folders you need to download with the mods.
works ok but when i play a tournament eg pro 14 and finish a game when i click continue it exits to destkop so i lose all progress

Even I have the tournament crashing issues. If you've used the correct profile there is not alot more you can do until a fix is sorted.

First you need to go into squad management and make a change to a team and save it. This will make the default roster file appear next to the profile file.
how do you install the newer version of the mod it says its different from peter83s so im confused
Exactly the same process as in this video. Pop it all into game files except for the profile and roster which are in the other folder.

If your game keeps crashing for whatever reason - make sure you copy the profile file which is included with the patch and also play around with resetting squads to default, hope this helps!

Have you replaced your roster file with the one in the downloaded mods? Make sure you change the new roster file to the same name as your original one before you make the swap.

That is usually down to the profile. Make sure you added the profile from the mods and you are not using the default profile.

Just search for it, try my documents or do a pc wide search. Should be there somewhere. It is a .Ros file.

You need to go into the game for the first time, go to squad management, make a change to a team and then come out, it will ask you to save it. Once you've saved it the roster folder will appear in the correct folder 👍

@@FootballWomanager i managed to sort it but is it just me or does the new patch seem to cause the game mechanics to change. eg, the lineout function has changed entirely, offloads are next to useless and are never received and constant handling issues. High ranked players dropping the ball continuously
There is a newer patch on the rugby forum by ama called TRF 21 and I believe that fixes alot of the issues, perhaps delete this one and give that a try. Same method.

Do you have the correct profile? That is usually the issue.

If you've gone to squad management in game, made a change to a team lineup and saved it then the roster folder should appear next to the profile folder.
i did that changed the names to ross_0 and replaced it but names remain the same

So have you swapped your roster file with the one in the mods? You need to make sure the new roster file is called exactly the same as your original one so that it replaces it. If you are struggling to find your roster file it's because you need to go into the game, make a change to a team and save it, then a roster file will appear.

Make sure you change the name of the roster file to the same as your default in game roster so that it replaces it.

I've deleted the profiles that are in the patch.
You need to swap your own profile with the one that came in the patch files. That was my mistake in the tutorial as I deleted the ones which came with the mod but you need to swap them with your current profile.
