- Companies use ways to grab our attention to make money from us, and nostalgia is one of the most powerful tricks they can use. Lets take a look at what Pizza Hut brings to the table with their augmented reality Pacman game. Arcades may be almost dead, but there's nothing stopping us from looking back fondly on those experiences.

Awesome video and thank you so much for letting me be a part of it. Was a lot of fun!
Thank you so much for helping out, I had a lot of fun putting it together too.
Awesome! Pac-Man and Pizza Hut collaborating is something that I have never expected to see when I was a kid.
Before I looked I assumed you had 100k + subs! Damn! Your content is great. Keep grinding, man. You'll blow up for sure.
That's an amazing complement! Thank you so much, that would be amazing, but I just enjoy making videos.
Lmao that’s what I said when I first found this channel! It seems like he’s been making videos for years. Keep up the good work love the content!
At a young age as well I did the same thing everytime I went to a arcade
Man! I wish they had this in Canada & my body would properly digest pizza, lol. Pac-man was the first game I ever played.
It's too bad that the joystick doesn't change based on your rotating around the box. Totally agree with you about the pandering.
Pandering isn't always a bad thing, lol. Yeah, it's a gimmick, but a gimmick done right I think.
Love the intro! Just a reminder you haven't updated your about section with your contact info yet.
Ah, thank you.
Thanks for the heads up. Updated!
Where are the glasses!! Can't wait for this to become more and more availlable ^^
Microsoft has some, but it's nice to see the software development. If silly toys like this are common place then better hardware is just around the corner.
I remember SMB3 at Pizza hut but it had the time limit per quarter so you could never beat the game without lots of quarters. I also remember at Peter Piper Pizza they used to have all sorts fo games, now its' bright lights and colors to give you a seizure or instill a gambling habit into children for tickets as it literally is like a casino for children but I explain it to them and they claim to understand but hopefully it won't turn into a bigger issue as they get older. I'd rather give them $20 in tokens to play TNMT (the old school 4 player cabinet) then $1 of tokens for a gambling inspired children's game. That's just my opinion but I deduce probabilities as an engineer and that's exactly how I would do it if hired to design something for that exact purpose.
I know exactly what you mean. I used to work in an arcade when I was younger and it was sad to see the real arcade machines slowly get swapped out for ticket machines. From a business angle it makes sense, but it was the beginning of the end of an era.
@@AdultsHaveToysToo that's one of the reasons why I built a arcade coffee table. When my kids were younger they would play TMNT for HOURS and beat the game.
I remember playing Pacman tables in the early 80s, so this is a great piece of nostalgia.
I would love to have one of those table machines one day.
If AR is meant to physical reality, what is being augmented here? A cardboard box? What is the box contributing with to the experience of playing Pac-Man? What is really the difference between having to play the game on top of the box (with all the uncomfortable aspects of having to constantly have the box on sight of your smartphone camera) or just downloading the game for your smartphone and be comfortably seated anywhere in your home (even laying down on your sofa) without having to worry about the box? I think this is yet one more hype application of AR where the AR is not only superfluous but also making things less comfortable for the user. But obviously nowadays everything MUST be AR to get some attention. ;-)
