Honestly I don’t know but I know what you mean! The release of the new prismatic evolutions has a lot of Pokemon fans excited so could be that!
it started during covid and has continually ramped back up i think its mostly new people joining and older people who grew up with the OG sets returning. Some of the Seasonal stuff like the Charizard statues made for Christmas had 10 packs or so in them and a statue and also could have rekindled it. The rest of the surge is likely crypto gamba-get rich quick "investor types" trying to scalp product hence the blooming waters fights in costco n what not.

Everyone was camping outside for the prismatic evolution release here so there was no chance for me to get it unless I did that. Maybe I will commit for a future release lol but It’s gotten hectic now
Same experience here! My local store said they sold out of prismatic evolution before the stock even came so I had absolutely no chance to get them without preordering months in advance 😭 there are SO many cute cards in that set tho🥹
I am so sad they got rid of the fairy cards. I luckily got some when they did exist!
I am so upset I don’t have any but I’m not opposed to buying singles so I may have to buy a few !!
@ I went to my local gamestop and they have a trading binder. I’m not sure if any places by you would have anything similar to get some!!
