  • In this video, I'm sharing with you why I think Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is underrated.
Even if it was disliked by many fans since its release, I believe Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull has many things worth noticing. I'll share with you why I think this is the case, and why you should revisit it if you haven't already!

If you compare it to Dial of Destiny, Crystal Skull looks even much better.

I loved dial of destiny also. I legitimately love all 5 Indiana Jones movies!

The reason Kingdom is better than people Remember is because they remember the online reviews slamming it instead of the actual movie itself.

Couldn’t have said it better myself, and most of those “reviews” came from Twitter and social media. Critics actually liked the movie.

Man, I really agree with you, I never hated this movie like it was supposed to, Spielberg's direction still worked as well as the John Williams' score, it felt like an Indiana Jones movie and it even treated the character with more respect, Indy never stopped being Indy despite the age, the concept of aliens can seem disruptive when you compare them with the mystical-religious objects of the previous films, perhaps the most criticized element of the film is the way in which they portrayed Peru, it seemed more like Mexico than Peru, that's why peruvians took the worst part on the film, I appreciate Karen Allen returned as Marion and I love her chemistry with Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett can't do no wrong for me (also: Belloc in the first movie was played by a british Paul Freeman), John Hurt did great, but yeah, Mac's character is useful, you could take him out of the movie and it wouldn't change anything significant. I'd rewatch Crystal Skull over Dial of Destiny anyday.

Man I feel kind of the same! haha I remember myself loving the idea that Shia was going to be in the movie. I was a teenager when it came out and as many teens at the time, I really enjoyed the Transformers franchise (mainly the 1st movie). I have good memories from Indy 4. As an alien lover (My favorite movie is Signs), I enjoyed the main premise of the movie!
About Dial of Destiny... I left the movie theater a little sad. Not because I HATED the movie, I kinda liked. I was sad that we're probably never going to see another Indy movie with Harrison. I think my ranking is:
    1 - Raiders
2 - Last Crusade (It's a close call with Raiders)
3 - Crystal Skull (Because Aliens haha)
4 - Temple (Still one of my favorite movies, don't get me wrong)
5 - Dial of Destiny (An OK adventure, but man is good to see him as Indy again...)
Sorry if my english is often convoluted (I'm a brazilian!)
I loved your channel and I'm looking forward to another videos!!! If I may... O my channel, I usually edit my videos in 1080p and render them in 4K. The RUclips compression is a little kinder!

No problem I’m not a native English speaker as well. 😅
That’s a pretty good ranking and thanks for the tip on the render settings, I’ll keep that in mind. 👍

I enjoyed it as a kid , and even now I think it feels more fun especially with dial shitting all over the franchise . It “feels” like an Indy movie, semi dark tones but still lighthearted and campy. Dial us just straight up dark and I found myself not enjoying it 3/4 of the way through

    The movie made money
The three OG’s made it and the movie is tied to one of his best video games…. I feel that the “HATE” are the minority who take the time to rant and complain online and on their channels because they have a “superior” opinion on the Franchise…. But the box office and reviews say otherwise. It’s like when Disney listened to those people and assumed all Star Wars fans hated the prequel and republic era so they solely focused on the OT to then see it crash and burn IE battle front one and solo.

I want to watch this movie as much as Spielberg wanted to direct it. I've revisited Crystal Skull a few times over the years and my opinion of it only gets more negative the more I think about the miscasting, the emotionally disturbing CGI, wasted opportunities and everything that could have been. To be fair, I do have an easier time enduring the look of it than I do Dial of Destiny, and the Rifftrax for Crystal Skull has decent enough writing that I can manage to sit through to the end of the movie.

Great review Bryan, it's nice to hear some positivity being put out into the world. This film failed at the time because it was so over hyped and so anticipated, it was never going to be able to live up to that. I was so disappointed after watching it, the worse scene for me being when they use a snake as a rope to pull Indy out of the quick sand, but your review has actually made me think that I should watch it again. As for the dial of destiny, I've seen it twice now and really enjoy that movie, not as much as the originals but I think it is really good, but then I went into it without seeing any trailers or hearing any reviews.

Crystal skull isn't great but at least it's watchable and it makes indiana Jones five look like a masterpiece..
