Awesome same thing I'm doing. D standard and aeolian and lydian. You can make a whole song and that alone but I also like to use harmonic minor which would be flat. We also have b in there and g and f. Fun stuff

Sometimes this aggressive sound is used to convey anger that's true, but it's also used to convey sadness, despair, delight, lust, hunger, insanity, even tranquility and joy. And those are just a few of the things it's used to convey. A chord structure based in a minor key is often said to evoke darker feelings, but that's not always true either.
I understand his question on a more personal level too, it doesn't sound angry to me at all either. But then art should *not always* convey the same thing to everyone either. Differing opinions are a good thing in and of themselves. And how we experience things is filtered through our own unique selves. As far as any art goes, no one is ever wrong or right about how it makes them feel. ^-^
