I felt like I was the problem until I realized they were upset that I was saying no to their toxicity and simple mindsets, and trying to make them grow with me. This isn't worth trying to anyone who reads this comment, clean the slate and try again with people who can improve on themselves alongside you. Thanks again Mark, this realization came from you!

Yeah the loneliness is the biggest aspect for me. None of my friends are starting businesses and they want me to hang out with them but I have to refuse them often to make sure I have time to work. In addition to that, I stopped drinking so much and staying out late because of its effect on my productivity. It’s just not as fun to hang out with them now because I feel undisciplined and am not drinking much. I also moved to the countryside to save money and minimise distractions. It’s good for my business but the hardest part is feeling isolated and not having friends on a similar journey.

Hey Mark, your words hit home like a well-aimed dart! I've been on both sides of the fence - the Bill who felt trapped in a job and the entrepreneur who's had to learn the hard way. I can't agree more with your point about 'killing the delusion'. The entrepreneurial journey is far from the rosy picture painted by media. It's a rollercoaster ride with its fair share of ups and downs.
I've had my ideas stolen, faced setbacks, and had to pivot more times than I can count. But each setback was a setup for a comeback. It's not about the perfect idea, it's about resilience, adaptability, and the will to keep going.
Your point about 'replacing friends' resonated with me. As I grew, my circle changed. It was tough, but necessary. The people you surround yourself with can either lift you up or pull you down. I've been fortunate to co-found businesses with like-minded individuals who share my vision and passion.
And yes, 'rethinking money' was a game-changer for me. Money is a tool, not the end goal. It's about creating value, and money is the byproduct of that value.
Your advice about 'maximizing efficiency' and 'becoming a wolf' is spot on. Building systems, processes, and a strong team has been instrumental in my journey.
Your video is a reality check for anyone considering the entrepreneurial path. It's not easy, but for those of us who've chosen it, it's worth every challenge. Keep up the great work, Mark!

I have been told i have a winning product myself but in order to scale up my business i had to borrow to invest in stock and advertising in the hope that there will be a long term payoff. This is stressful and has lead to mortgage providers refusing me loans, but long term my gut feeling is thst its the right strategy that will reap the rewards. Then went on to start flipping houses in Belgium and then started in the United States and became a millionaire doing it. This is in less than a decade. Thanks for the insight. I always get at least one good tidbit from your videos. I went down the road of trying to start a small business for about a year. It turns out, I hated it more than my job. Funny how things work out. I have had to work really hard to change my mind set on money as I grew up around people who associated money and politics with evil; and investing was on par with astrophysics. I'm going to try your suggestion of carrying around $1,000. I want nothing more than to be financially independent and I will continue changing whatever behaviors and habits that are required. I've already quit drinking stupid juice, paid off our overpriced new cars, sold the house we couldn't afford, eliminated our dumb credit card debt; and gave up my feel-good shopping habit.

Definetly, I can't even recommend running a business to most people. Early stages of business come with a lot of stress, not knowing if you even gonna succeed, and work 24/7. Literally I wake up everyone morning and while drinking and eating breakfast I start making phone calls, sometimes I even end up working from morning to late evening, without time off. Ofcourse, that makes me happy, but such life is not for everyone. When i was working normal job, there was no stress, like you come to work, get a coffee, chill, do some work, go home and forget about it.

OMG where was this video when i was thinking of starting my own business?! Now 6 years on running my own business (after leaving a lucrative corporate job), i learned every lesson Mark talked about in this video, plus thousands more! So true starting a business isn't for everyone, which is why i challenge everyone coming to me for my advice on starting their own business why they want to get into it in the first place, and help them peel off any illusion they may have about owning their business. It may sound harsh as if i'm raining on their parade but if you can't answer those cold hard questions then business may not be for you. Pure passion isn't going to sustain you when you haven't got customers walking through the door and the landlord's chasing for the rent. There's too much media spotlight on the perks and overnight success stories of owning a business, and there's way too little on how hard it is to build a successful business and how too many fail along the way. Cudos to Mark for making this brilliant, honest video ❤❤❤

I think your advise is very accurate. As an employee who has worked very hard to build other's businesses, here is some more advice. 1) Your employee probably isn't going to work 60 or 80 hours just as you do. If you find someone to give you a solid 8 hours per day and treat your business as their own, then keep them around! 2) You can train skills but you cannot train attitude. You may not find the employee who matches every skill you require. But the employee with a great work ethic and attitude is worth training or mentoring. 3) Don't become impatient because people don't see "the obvious". As Mr. Tilbury has pointed out, not everyone has the "millionaire mindset". They likely will not understand right away what your strategy is or why you do the things you do. If they did then they would have their own company right? 4) don't become impatient or take your frustrations out on your employees. It's very difficult to be the captain of a ship, and you will want to snatch yourself bald some days! But you need to realize you have people there helping you to get to where you wish to be. They are working hard and creating your dream for you. So go take a walk and calm down. 5) make sure the company can run without you. Everyone has life issues pop up. You have an unexpected family emergency, a death of a loved one, or even a car accident. I knew a man who micormanaged employees so much that when he had a stroke, his company crumbled. So as Mr. Tilbury stated your employees know your plans for 1 month, your vision, the direction you want your company to go in, and the autonomy to make this happen.

Another great video Mark. Only thing I would ask is if what you are describing is more a business than a side hustle. As side hustle I always took to be something small one has on the side with the potential to grow big, but not without leaving the job till time is right

I started a business with a few colleagues 4 years ago.. we’re doing about $8 million/year now and growing fast. It’s been rewarding, but it’s brutally difficult and stressful. I have a lambo, disposable income, no bad debt, nice house etc… but despite that, I’ll probably die sooner lol. Oh, and we’re absolutely winging it.

In the section about maximizing efficiency and implementing systems and processes, you mentions the importance of creating a manual for the business. Could you provide more insights on what kind of information and content should be included in this manual? How detailed should it be, and what are some best practices for creating an effective and comprehensive business manual?

People will not work with you if they don’t already see you being successful. I’ve tried based on talent alone, they don’t care about potential, they only work with people who already have results
