For anyone who hates vegan cheese: there are two kinds: cheese for crackers, and cheese for cooking. Cheese for crackers is great right out of the fridge, served as a snack or eaten with nothing else. Most fancy expensive nut cheese are this kind of cheese. It will not melt, so don't try to cook it into a grilled cheese sandwich or mac and cheese; it just gets gross and sweaty. Cheese for cooking is disgusting unless it's heated up and fully melted, as Kristen can attest to in this video. However, it's very satisfying in like a quesadilla. It's usually in lots of packaging, massed produced, and sold as slices or shreds. As a vegan for 5 years, LOVED this video, and Kristen and Jen had a great attitude about everything. This post isn't to slam them in any way, just to clarify something I've learned that I think a lot of people don't realize about vegan cheese. Hope someone found this helpful!

I actually really like that vegan Parmesan cheese that you are supposed to melt! It’s great when it’s melts and warm! Making or buying vegan cheeses is so hard when you are allergic to nuts like me and that one is so great 😀

Highly recommend cooking that beef with olive oil in a pan! It needs some fat for sure! It gets crispy and so good!! You also need to add seasoning; treat it like plain ground meat!
Beefless ground has to be in something else! It makes a great base for tacos, meatless sauces, faux meatloaf-holds its shape better than frozen veggie crumbles and adds the umami flavor. And honestly, who would want to eat just straight ground beef with no salt/spices either?? 😂
They have amazing vegan ice cream mochi at Trader Joe’s as well! Thai tea and mocha (coffee with a chocolate center) and strawberry and mango. They’re all really yummy ❤️

I eat plant based. The fascination with vegan food that is like normal food we used to eat is you like a sandwich or a burger(with all the other goodies). It’s just the familiarity of what you know. And the challenge to create it and enjoy that experience with no animal products.
I tried out some non-dairy ice cream and creamers for a few months when I was having issues. I found that most of the creamers were either flavorless or separated in coffee/got thick really quickly. The ice cream was ok (I can’t have nut based ice creams), but I found the sunflower or coconut base somewhat overpowering. After a few months, I got really tired of everything tasting like coconut or having little flavor.
I feel like there may or may not have been someone that got stoned. I hope you ladies had fun filming even if you were alone. I am so proud of you for making your own channel and for sticking with quarantine.
I went to trader joe’s once and they had the soy chorizo mixed in with one of their sauces/dips (I forget which one) but it was suuuuper good. Kind of like a Super Bowl party style dip if that makes sense lmao
My feelings were hurt about the lack of love for the Soy Chorizo. Sauté that up with some onions and other veggies, add some salsa and throw that into a tortilla. Yum! A standard at my house.

IDEA...since we're approaching thanksgiving, maybe doing a tasting of premade thanksgiving-esque meals? I have only ever shopped at a Trader Joe's once so I don't know quite know if they would have it...might have to visit several stores or chain restaurants (I know boston market does one)
The vegan tika masala was my FAVORITE frozen dinner from Trader Joe's, but then last year I noticed the packaging changed, and the recipe did too because it was now too spicy for my sensitive mouth. :((( It's nice to know there are other things out there!
There are only a few vegan cheeses that you can eat cold and they taste good. The others need to be warmed and melted. And even then they are usually just ok or kinda tastes like plastic.
I feel like the texture of a lot of these baked or fried type things would be better if they were cooked from frozen in an air fryer. Morningstar Farms breakfast sausages are okay in the microwave, a little better cooked in a pan, but made of awesome cooked in an air fryer. Same with veggie burgers and chick patties.
For some reason the vegetarian versions of non vegetarian food really annoy me. Maybe because in India where I live there's a lot of variation in normal vegetarian food that's not trying to be chicken or Turkey. If you really want to be vegan or vegetarian just enjoy the food as it's supposed to be! It's delicious too!

Heck YES to #1: I was an employee at Trader Joe's for 7+ years and while I loved this list, cheeses aside, the soy chorizo and meatless meatballs are essentially ingredients and can upgrade a meal brilliantly. I've fooled lifelong meat-eating family members that the meatballs were veal before and both have been lifesavers in transitioning our family to vegan foods.
I don’t have ADHD but I can relate to this cause sometimes I forget to take my Prozac for a few days and I literally felt like everything I’d ever learned had been wiped from my brain lol

With ADHD my memory can be super pinpointed and sharp, I'll remember literally everything that happened in a certain encounter or will remember a random actors name I've seen a movie of once, but then again yeah, I do things like forget the word for shelf or blocks of time. It's a strange condition! It's very easy to be gaslit with ADHD because we do genuinely forget when we do things or what we've said.
I find the Soyrizo tastes best when you take it out of the casing and toss the grounds in a cast iron with some oil (I also add garlic and cayenne pepper) and let it get brown and crispy in some parts.

Looking at you struggle to remember "motorcycle" really satisfied my ADHD brain. I literally forgot the word for "hallway" the other day
I don’t have ADHD but I can relate to this cause sometimes I forget to take my Prozac for a few days and I literally felt like everything I’d ever learned had been wiped from my brain lol
@@yourlocalenbypunk84 it's not exactly like that, it's like other things are perfectly there but then other things just get lost. With ADHD my memory can be super pinpointed and sharp, I'll remember literally everything that happened in a certain encounter or will remember a random actors name I've seen a movie of once, but then again yeah, I do things like forget the word for shelf or blocks of time. It's a strange condition! It's very easy to be gaslit with ADHD because we do genuinely forget when we do things or what we've said.
Ive had to explain air conditioner because i could remember. I couldnt even remember that we call it ac too

I find the Soyrizo tastes best when you take it out of the casing and toss the grounds in a cast iron with some oil (I also add garlic and cayenne pepper) and let it get brown and crispy in some parts.
Never had it raw from the casing. It is my favorite thing from TJ!
