Anecdote: I believe I cured my long-term burn out by quitting caffeine. For a year I didn't drink any caffeine and slowly I got back from being a tired, muscle weak and stressful wreck to being a calm warrior munk. After a couple of months, a workout didn't make me sleepy anymore, I could focus much longer at work, I slept like a baby and, weirdly enough my dreams were much more vivid and much more frequent.
Conclusion: if you're suffering from any stress related condition, caffeine might not be for you. I belive it kind of raises your base stress level just a bit, and makes your body and mind more reactive to stressful stimuli.
That's at least my experience, and theory.
    Hope that makes sense. 😊

I'm kicking the tea and coffee habit after the best part of 10 years. I love the taste, but the buzz from the caffeine in coffee leaves me struggling to focus and tea brasting for a pee every hour! Plus I'm pretty sure the cumulative half life means I just don't feel refreshed after a good nights sleep. Recommend reading Caffeine blues, which is what inspired me to flick the bean, and bag, as of yesterday. Coffee substitute from chicory with spices like cinnamon isn't too shabby

... Coffee absorb water from your body cells causing dehydration. You shouldn't drink coffee in the morning because your body already dehydrated while you sleep so drinking coffee first thing in the morning will even give you more dehydration. You need to zip water 500-600 cc. in the first hour after getting up and having coffee a while later and better with your soft breakfast meal.

Interesting point regarding organic being more healthy due to the fact that bugs help to create more chlorogenic acid...however, o non-synthetic "natural" pesticides may still be used to grow organic coffee. I'd think these reduce the bugs also (?)

Too many contradictions in the world of nutrition! Ditto for eggs and potatoes! Am a big tea drinker black, green and herbal but will up my java, decafe though with almond milk! Have both your books, "knowledge is power"...self empowerment! ♥♥

This is all good news about coffee, except for adding cream to it…because I like a little coffee with my cream 😂 Also, you’ll never convince me that coffee doesn’t dehydrate you… even small amounts. I’ve had personal experience with this but maybe it’s just with me, I’ve had issues with dry red eyes, and I found out drinking more water throughout the day fixed it. Although when I drank a cup of coffee in my eyes would get red that day. I thought it was coffee. Then I found, if I drink extra water when i’ve had a coffee, I don’t have the problem.

Moringa leaves also has chlorogenic acid ,,,,,
“The concentration of chlorogenic acid (CGA) in dried Moringa oleifera leaves can range from 0.018 to 0.489 milligrams per gram of dry weight. CGA is a phenolic acid and ester of dihydrocinnamic acid that plays a role in glucose metabolism. It has been shown to lower blood glucose levels in obese rats after eating, and to reduce the glycemic response in rodents.
Other factors that can affect the amount of CGA in Moringa oleifera leaves include:
    Extraction method
Macerating dried leaves with 70% ethanol can produce an extract with high levels of total phenolics, including 13.23 grams of chlorogenic acid equivalents per 100 grams of extract
    Cultivation region
The region where the leaves are grown can significantly affect the amount of CGA, as well as other compounds like isoquercitrin and astragalin
    Leaf age
Young leaves tend to have higher levels of total phenolic content”
