- This is Jayne and Chris's first performance of the routine they created for each other after 20 years together at the 1995 World Professional Figure Skating Championships in Maryland, USA, where they placed 1st.
StTILL CRAZY since Sarajevo 1984 about Jayne & Chris and I even TRIED to learn ice dancing skting 3 times a week. I had a bad fall and never continued unlike our heroes! They STILL are the BEST in the world in 2021!
For those of you wondering why there is no sound in the video: I believe it has to do with copyright laws. Whoever owned the copyright to the song did not agree to it being used on this video/youtube etc and so, the sound was removed.
Every time I see this couple on the ice, it amazes me how sensual their performances always are, even though they are friends/partners and have their own significant others. It is as though they have a special spiritual personal union when they perform that makes you wish you could experience that bond yourself. I simply cannot stop watching their perfection. No pair will ever equal their impeccable performances.
+Tacks Sherbo You express so well how I and many other people feel when watching T&D. They are so brilliant together in dance its hard to believe that it can be anything other than love, yet it isn't - it's brilliant skill, many years of being together combined with intimacy and intuition and obviously just a hint of sexual recognition!
I agree its hard to believe they are not a couple the way they skate so passionately.

Yesterday, I was watching clips of them ... and all of a sudden I wished I was one of them. They are a fabulous pair, a union from a young age ... so comfortable with each other, and so inventive.

It's so cool that, here in 2015, they are going strong again and are HUGE world-wide stars. As they deserve to be. This song, and dance, says it all. TY Jayne & Chris!

This is one of my favourites. Their amazing choreography - their movements, the music - it's a total package. I get goosebumps watching this and other T&D dances despite repeated viewing. Unlike ice dancers these days, T&D don't seem to rush their routines but let the entire dance speak. The viewer is not awed by the tricks, but is moved by the whole experience. Their DOI Celebs choreography is entertaining despite the celebs skating limitations, and that takes real talent and imagination.
No-one can touch them in this field - after all these years. I watched T+'Ds Bolero at the age of 13 and was blown away, mesmerised (I went ice-scating for fun every weekend from the age of 12). I also remember crying when they didn't win gold for 'Let's face the music and dance'. But this expressive, perfect, nuanced and technically brilliant ice dance to 'Still Crazy' also brings tears to my eyes. It says everything about the complexity of relationships as you get older. It inspires me to be a better artist, as all great art-works do. I too love the whimsy, the interplay of gender roles. Ace!

It's not that I don't believe that are perfectly in time with the music, but...how can you tell?
Just wonderful! They take us on a journey every single time they skate. At the end, when Christopher takes Jayne's hand and looks into her eyes..my goodness...what love and gratefulness. I wish any of my 2 ex-husbands would have looked at me like that.... lol.
I don't what it is but the end of this video is when he kisses her hand, it's like in Chris's eyes you can see all of their career and the trouble they with the 94 and the trimph with 84. It's like he's saying Thank You for everything. I don't know I just think the routine is beautiful and their reactions just show their love for each other really. :')
Pure Magic. I love the fluidity and the subtle complexity of the routine. Brought a lump to my throat to see such excellence. Thank you for posting this, it is the best routine I have seen them do.
The Astaire and Rogers of the Ice
Never any herky-jerky movements with these two. They use their arms but never flail them. He picks her up and slings her about but the notion that he might drop her is inconceivable. Their dances are loaded with content but are always very smooth and uncluttered-looking. You can watch them over and over again. There were good teams out there even when T&D were skating competitively; there have been excellent ones since and will be more in the future. But another Jayne and Chris? I can't see it. Can you?

I agree with everything you said. I was just talking about the arms flailing around with some of these other ice skaters. Torvil and Dean are smooth, in step with each other perfectly and are the most amazing ice dancers ever. Poetry on ice!

I did already have this in my uploads but the sound was blocked, I noticed a change in YT the other day so thought I'd reupload and voila, it's with sound now ;D
I do have their final performance before they initially retired, not sure about copyright and all that but I will see what I can do :)
