this is so cute 😭 the way i interpret “honey when i’m above the trees i see this for what it is” as her looking at the situation but not being in it, like watching other relationships end and seeing that they will still have happiness afterwards but “now she’s right down in it” and having to almost convince herself that she’ll be happy again too
For me I interpret above the trees as in the forest metaphor from Out Of The Woods, that makes sense right? Like only when I'm looking down at that big patch of forest that I got out of, I see things for what it is and no longer clouded by fury or whatever mindset I had during that time
