I love a a good Sweet Thai Iced Tea!!! In the southern US there's a popular drink called Sweet Tea. It's very similar in sweetness. Tastes Amazing on a hot day!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I've been delaying making Thai iced tea at home, but this gives me motivation. I will have to find substitutes for milk and sugar but what I really love is the actual tea not the sweeteners per say.
You can do it! 👏🏼 I have some vegan friends and they've found vegan alternatives to the Sweetened Condensed Milk & Evaporated Milk on Amazon. Also, you can substitute any sweetener really.. try out different ones each time I guess 😁. I also have a video where I make a vegan version of a Thai iced tea, Dalgona style... this could be an option for your to try and it is really tasty as well, and without any dairy in it! 😍
I forgot to mention that I didn't add the sugar. I only used the condensed milk for sweetness and for me it was sweet enough. I don't have a sock and just used a fine mesh tea strainer which worked well. I also added boba to it as well and it turned out great 👍🏼
Hi! 👍🏼 That is very cool! I really enjoy their drinks. You're fortunate to have a shop. We don't have one here, but I can make majority of the drinks at home. 😂
Aw thank you kindly 😊 Yes, regular whole milk will be fine. Just make sure it's pasteurized if you're in a country where there's an option. (Unless you're used to drinking raw) All the best to you!
Hello Kristin . Great video for thai iced tea very detailed. Love it. I have a question , the Chatramue brand ypur using is it the one which has vanilla in it? Or is the chatramue original thai tea not contain vanilla? I want to purchase the authentic street style could you please shed some light on this issue
Hello 😁 Technically it's known on the side by very few as the 'vanilla' one, but just know that as long as it's by ChaTraMue, and it's in a Red Bag, then that's the one you want to go for. 👍🏼 There's loads of places online that carry it... you shouldn't need to import it direct from Thailand.
If you mean, to do a large batch like the Thai Tea Party video, then Yes. In the comments section on one of those drinks videos you mentioned, I go into detail about how to do just that 👍🏼 It's on one of the videos in the comments section in the Thailand Drinks Playlist 😇
Love your vlog! 💖I have a question: If you're making a full batch of thai tea, can you just put the brewed hot tea straight into the fridge or Does it need to be cooled down before keeping it in the fridge?
Hello 👋🏼 I would advise, any time you put anything into the fridge, to cool it down to room temp or close enough, before putting it in the fridge...😉 The reason is simply that the hot heat will transfer to other items and bring up the fridge temp, which may breed bacteria easier for everything inside it. Hope that helps ☺️
hello kritin , jus want to know one serving of this drink gets you 350ml(12oz) drink or more than that ??? how much ml or oz this drnk builds up for single serving??
Good question... I've never measured it exactly. But I'd say it's a hot 300-350ml... then pour over ice to create around 500-700ml. Depends on the size of the ice and how long you're expecting people to wait before drinking it and/or adding more evap milk, etc. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much Kristin, so one last question, for powders you do 2:2:2 ratio and most of the syrups base recipes are also quite same measurements. Which builts up 350 ml . So if I want 500ml or 700 ml , I add up the powders and syrup and stuff or just ice ???
@@ninadghate8103 you could just add the liquid volume into a 500ml cup of ice. Or multiply all the recipes by 1.5 For 700ml, best to add what I just said to ice, or multiply all recipes by 2. Hope that makes sense 😄
I'm a fan of all sorts of tea and I'll try this out. Why two types of milk? I must admit I thought condensed and evaporated were the same. It reminded of an uncle who always had carnation milk in his (standard Brit) tea.
HAHA - Excellent! Two different types of milk for sure! They all taste different and have different consistencies as well. At home, I additionally include regular milk to mine also! Condensed milk will offer a sweet & savory sort of flavor, and the evaporated milk will also give creaminess but a umami undertone. Your uncle was onto something! 😂 In Southeast Asia a lot of 'milk teas' use canned milks in their recipes because fresh milk was neither a thing for them yet in cooking nor affordable, and many didn't have refrigeration and electricity in the countryside. Take the Vietnamese Coffee of Vietnam or the TehTarik of Malaysia.. exact same idea.
Hi Mam. incase we want to use boba with this. Should the boba be soaked in brown sugar syrup or simple sugar syrup? And how to balance the boba and this so its not oversweet
That's a great question! You would do everything exactly the same, but instead of using the normal dairy condensed/evap milk like they use in Thailand, you would simply purchase vegan condensed/evap milk and use that instead. For example doing a quick Google search, I found a comparable vegan condensed coconut milk, and there are also vegan evaporated milk options out there as well. It seems they have a 1:1 exchange ratio. If your local super market doesn't carry those vegan items, best to search for an online vegan store or similar. If you do make it using vegan alternatives, please let us know how it turns out! :) I love coconut milk, and that option I mentioned above sounds delish!
Did they remove the food color? I just bought the same pack and my tea isnt orange but just black and when adding sugar and condensed and evaporated milk it gets brown.
Hi. Interesting question. As far as I know the tea mix is the same as always... Perhaps you got a different brand than the one I mentioned? Or maybe they offer a color free option now?
@@MasterPiece-rg7ed using a French press wouldn't affect the color. This is an interesting situation that would be fun to find the solution. Can I ask which country you're in? Some have laws against importation of color additives. In the UK we call them 'E colors' for example. Maybe your country doesn't allow importing of a product that has it...? So perhaps the company made a batch with the same flavor, but without the E color...?
