+Robert Crowley , very agile bass singing voice, resonant and awesome personality. Too bad he espired. In my opinion the best bass singer the palmetto quartet has ever had.
have you heard about sound delay you are hearing the outside speakers we are trying to cover about 3000 people spread out about 25 feet on each side I was the video tape recorder operator and my son was the left camera member
I have seen Harold in person and in concert....he is and has been a great bass singer....it is hard to expel very much air when you are in that low range!
Harold sounds great, but I think he might be lip syncing on the low notes. you can especially tell when he pulls the mic away and stops singing at 4:32 and you can still hear his voice until 4:34. Another example is at 5:54 to 5:57 where the same thing happens. Even at 6:11 to 6:12. I think you can hear his voice switch over from him singing to him lip syncing at 3:46 on "-ning". He's a good enough bass singer I didn't think he would need to do that!
The best part is the joke about his singing being a dishonest living as he proceeds to pantomime to a digitally lowered recording. Note how at three points in the song Harold removes the microphone from his lips without the note diminishing at all. Even fake imitation is a sincere form of flattery. Its fun to watch.
The double low C at final
Yesssss
I've followed JD Sumner's wonderful singing for over 50 years and know his voice very well. This guy does a good imitation of JD's speaking voice.
this guy is awesome!! thanks for posting it!!
Great J. D. Like. Great bass singer.

FANTASTIC, FANTASTIC!
Good one Dean....Harold is a good JD imitator....
Groups will sometimes go into the studio after a video shoot and "tweak" some places where audio is too low or a note is "shaved."
Oh, didn't know that.
