Hey Tabi, I am a newly graduated Masters of Social Work student (in Australia) who is about to start my first post-graduate social work role in a hospital. Thank-you so much for creating and posting these videos, in particular this Biopsychosocial Assessment video. As a student on placement at a hospital I found conducting biopsychosocial assessments a little bit 'invasive' at times and I didn't really have a methodical process such as how you describe in your video. I enjoyed your tips on setting time periods for assessments, verifying information with the patient after reading the face sheet, and utilizing non-verbal observations. I will probably use a variation of your intro as it is very concise and clear for the patient and sets those boundaries right from the start,
Thanks for this! I have liked and subscribed. I am in my senior year for my BSW, and will continue on to my masters. My goal is to work with the transplant population, as I am a transplant recipient!
I just want to say thank you for your videos! I’ve subscribed and hope to see more ♥️. I’ve been interning at VA as a PACT social worker (primary care/outpatient) for the past 8 months and just accepted an inpatient social work position that I’ll be starting after I graduate. I’ve been somewhat cross trained (mostly have assisted inpatient with biopsychosocials when needed). Your videos are SUPER helpful. I’m lucky that I’ve been exposed to the inter-workings of the hospital system and understand the role in a general sense, but your videos have truly helped to hone in on what the role truly is. I’ve been watching and taking notes! You provide so many tips and insight that I haven’t heard about/have learned yet.
Thank you so much for watching them and I'm so glad they are helpful! I've been so surprised that these things aren't covered very well. I am also a VA social worker currently. I'll probably cover some VA stuff in the future as well. Thanks for your support!
I love love love all your videos! As a former nurse and medical transcriptionist, I am so thankful to have this experience because it looks like it will be useful. I cannot imagine going into social work without understanding medical terminology, basic abbreviations, and med lingo/medications. That is crazy to me that they do not train us. I feel bad for any medical social worker who doesn't have nursing experience or has worked in a hospital before. All your videos are helping me tremendously, Tabi. Thank you again! ~ Kami :)
This is amazing. I wanted to see if I could email you and speak to you about Medical Social Work. I have been an EMT in the military and in occupational safety. Want to learn more and see if it the right fit for me.
Hi Tabi, just got your free BPSS template. This is super helpful. I was just wondering if you could make a video to help those of use who might not be so familiar with acronyms related to medical settings to better utilize the template... thanks Tabi!
Thank you so much. Your videos are extremely helpful. I wish I had a person like you for training when I started as a case manager at the hospital. It has been so hard but your videos make so much sense. Thanks again.
Thank you so much for watching and for your support! I'm so glad you find them helpful! Please let me know if there is anything specific you would like me to touch on! 😁
You did a great job. I would like to a medical social worker. You are the only person who share the bio psychosocial assessments specifically. highly appreciate your work. May I know which country you are working?
👋 Just found your video, liked and subscribed. I did not receive the psychosocial template after signing up for newsletter. Hoping you can help! Thanks, Victoria
