Just in case anyone is confused, this is a movie/short film, the other is a whole anime series.
Let me explain this to you:
Mekakucity Actors/Kagerou Project has different routes to it, the reason it has different routes is because when they all die and Mary resets time they may do different things during every reset, this is what causes a route. This particular route they died quite early because all of the snakes (the Mekakushi Dan) were reunited but didn’t have the motive to fight or any knowledge on what they’d be fighting.
Pretty much all the Kagepro media’s have a different route.
There’s the music video route, the novel route, the manga route, the “Outer science” and “Lost Time Memory” route, the movie route (this one), and then the most well known route is the anime route.
I hope this clears things up ^^
But if all snakes were reunited... what about focusing eyes snake? If Hibiya and Hiyori were together at the mall instead of the truck accident they actually didn't died so they didn't get the snake? there's a snake missing I guess... it's a doubt :3
@@marianaperez4515 yeah, kagerou days(hibiya and hiyori trapped in KD) didn't happen so that means the eyes are complete. But maybe it also means that the eyes are complete at the moment. All eyes excluding hibiya's.
I want to add something though. I didn't understand the timeline completely (probably everyone doesn't too, since it's so complicated) bit here's my opinion. The route first route may be manga 2 in this route ayano and shintaro haven't met each other yet. Everyone dies except shintaro, mary, and ayano. Ayano thought of a plan consisting of the remaining three. Ayano will be the snake of the retaining eyes and Mary will give it to shintaro. 2nd route is manga route 1 or route xx(at first I think they are the same since in the MV of outer science, shintaro is labeled as XX while others are steal, decieve, etc. But shintaro didn't suicide in the manga 1). Next is the novel which they beat the snake of clearing eyes, but most them died so another reset happened. In this route shintaro has some implications (?) Of awakening his eyes. Then anime route which shintaro remembered their plan in first route(about the snake of retaining eyes) and beat the clearing eyes getting ayano and possibly hiyori(?) Out in the heat haze.
Underrated comment. But still, thanks though :D
Thanks, I thought this movie was either placed before, during, or after the series. In the end I just ended up confused.

Wouldn't Mary die to the explosive charge rendering her unable to reset the timeline? Unless she's impervious to explosions which isn't believable since she's only quarter Medusa

Yes your right but the kagerou daze no.9 is also delayed because of the problem on previous seasons of it but don't worry they making their best but you can imagine also that they remake s1 maybe that's a theory
This is 2 years old now lmao but im gonna answer anyway, Theres a allegedly a lawsuit going on between Jin and 1st place (the owners of AI vocaloid used in most early kagepro songs - who offered 20 y/o jin a contract to work on kagepro) its just a rumor ive seen spread around on the reddit, it sounds like sthn to do with copyright being held in a vault by 1st place and not letting jin continue even though he is the writer and artist behind kagepro. it sucks but further production is completely on hold until things are figured out ;w; if they ever are

やばいエネちゃんの歌ってる所凄く可愛い後服も可愛いすぎる
Kind of wish they expanded on this route because of the cool character designs and how early each character interacted with each other. It would've given a lot more development time between Ene, Konoha, and Shintaro considering how they're basically deceased classmates. Though It gives a nice perspective on how different routes are played out. It's a shame the official anime didn't even display this much effort in its storytelling.

Although it amazes me how the anime adaptations always manage to be so choppy. They don't do the series justice. But at least it's new content for my kids. ;;-;; So, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
This is only twenty minutes long but it’s somehow better, more well paced and makes ten times more sense than all of the mekakucity actors anime
its still feel really bad tho, but not as confusing with the anime series

For people asking about Hibiya and Hiyori:
In this route both would be still alive, I think people are confused because of Route XX.
Route XX is where the snake of clearing eyes orchestrates Hibiya and Hiyori's death while Konoha enters the daze.
Hibiya and Konoha makes it to the outside world with Hibiya receiving the snake of focusing eyes.
Then what the Route XXX is about 🤔
I was never aware of this but man this was cool! The artstyle is great and it felt so much longer but in a good way. I remember really liking the anime as well! Happy Kagerou Daze Day!

i think its funny how there are two timelines where everyone just eats shit. like the first manga routes ending was them going to the amusment park and gettting amusing-ly sudden ends to there lives by just being shot dead by kuroha. than this one. sweet

So in this route i gonna guess that the Clearing Eyes was indeed the guy that Shintaro talked about and not the usual host(avoiding spoilers for new people) and all the snakes aside from Hibiya's and Hiyori's are already out of the Daze and Ayano stayed there on her on free will, Shintaro remembers what happened when he's frozen because he already has the Retaining Eyes he got from Marry in Route 2 of the Manga and Konoha seems to remember something about Shintaro but is not sure of what(we know what), Seto if i understand now is able to read not only minds but how the person is thinking about what move should they do since he was using he's abilty and wainting for the guy to think of pulling the trigger, aside from all of this the Mekakushi Dan maybe already passed by Marry's house and found about the medusa and snakes to know about the red eyes like in the Novel and the Manga Route 2, the reason i think the Clearing Eyes was indeed the terroist is because he still manage to get a bomb to explode and kill them so Marry once again may reset the timeline.
This timeline is really short but interesting showing everyone meeting early, that Konoha can remember but don't, that Kano is way smarter here than in any of the others timelines going to get a bullet vest and acting as Kido taking the shot only to cut a trap, Marry is much more confident here and not scared to put herselft in danger, Shintaro is always smart but here we see him thinking in rushed situation where they need to act fast or things can get worse pretty quick so this short movie show "new' sides of the characters that someday be more explored in a new anime but i think we're all gonna be in the Daze when the new anime comes out so it's a sad thing, now for the placement of this Route i don't know, is short but the characters do appear to have some memories of previous routes so i think is up in the air

Alsoao if anyone's new to this series, I just want to sya that the fact he can remember everything despite being frozen is not ordinary. No one's supposed to remember everything that happened while they are under the effect of Mary's eyes. But explaining why he can remember is a huge spoiler in itself.
*Spoiler warning*
Shintaro's eyes have the ability to "remember" in the world of kagerou project, everything is in a loop. And only shintaro have the ability to remember everything that happened in every loop while the others don't remember it. His, and Ayano's eyes who's ability is sharing memories. Are key factors in destroying the loop caused by the "clearing" snake.
Oh no I wasn't expecting that ending.......

@@kanoshuuya4534 i know this is two months late LMFAO but jin said in 2019 that it was still in the works and that hes not dropping it. just last night he posted a teaser for something hell be releasing within the next few hours called RE:BOOT and its either going to be a new album or a trailer, perhaps, of the anime project-- as he did say that Mekakucity Reload was a placeholder name (due to that being his most recent album at the time) so i guess well see !

Watching this now right after I found out this exist. I'm quite happy that in the current timeline in the manga. The members had finally pulled out the "clearing" snake's real form and started to properly fight him.

I was wondering why there would be another snake eyes holder in the story... Well, there's supposed to only be 11 in the story. The 9 members along with Ayano's and the snake of "clearing" eyes.

@@nicovoth7243 I think there are no minor snakes. If I remember correctly, the snakes disappear after fulfilling Azami's wish. The snake of Clearing eyes for example was born from Azami's wish of knowing what she is. As a result that snake knows what Azami is more than she does. Although that wish was not fulfilled because Azami abandoned that wish, which in turn caused the Clearing Snake to continue existing.
