9:40 you got me. New sub. As far back as 2009 I was making bifurcated notebook pages: Slow slide / economic crash was one column and EMP/CME was the other. Learning to evolve from an urbanite to a preparedness minded rural chap has been quite an adventure. I endured the crucible. Several passes through the crucible in order to give God something to work with. Recently He blessed me with a woman I wouldn’t have even dreamed of. We are making plans very similar to the thesis of this great little video. My plan is to love the Lord, love her and together plan for the worst. Anything short of that happens to mc’merica? Well we will give thanks and carry on 🪔🌾 God bless you all. Proverbs 27:12, Proverbs 16:9 and

While being in the mountains is where I spend 9 months of the year is great and freeing, when the scripture that says "you will plow with one hand and have a sword in the other" I want to be in a very large mass of people that are like me.

Brett, I went to University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in early 90’s. I had some classes with this guy who reminded me of Gus from Lonsome Dove. He had worked in Colorado guiding hunts, etc,a real cowboy. Well he met a lady & fell in love. Long story short, broke his heart and one afternoon he told me he was selling everything he has and riding a horse to Colorado from Hattiesburg Ms. I watched & helped him sell stuff and get ready. He ask me to drive his truck after he unloaded the horse to the person he sold it to. We shook hands and he climbed aboard his horse and headed to Colorado. I would get a letter, news paper clipping on how his trip was going. He was on news a lot. He said people were very nice and give him and horse food shelter if needed. And he finally made it,I got a letter from him and he had got a job guiding again. I thought you would enjoy the story. He was one of a kind born 100 years to late!!!!

Brett, you gave me a glimpse into a lifestyle I thought had gone extinct, as well as one I know I’ll never see myself.
I loved the music...it stirred the Scottish in my blood.
Trackers for your dogs and letting them be fully dogs at the same time - a healthy balance.
Some people have a need to pick others apart, so sad to see any criticism in the commentary stream (peanut gallery) but a godly person can appreciate differences without judgment (after all, “judge not, lest ye be judged”, yes?)
At 62, the best I’m going to do now is try diligently to live in obedience to the Lord, carry the message of hope, and serve my fellows as God directs me until we are called to stand in the final day.
Bless you and your wife and family, Brett, and thank you so much for bringing us a view into this gentler side of life! 🙏

Love it, love it! Great video my friend and yes i concur what you're saying about the bottom falling out of our society! It's not a matter if it happens, but WHEN it happens! The last place you want to be is in a city during uncivil rest comes.... A EMP will shut down the power grids and that means no way to preserve food, no lights, no cooling ect... People will turn into animals real fast! Love your videos!

@@BrettVaughnB100 it’s great that you still have access to that property. Is it public land? Your idea of “closing” the road is ideal.
Once I retire I’d like to have a remote property like that in a trust with my family and close friends. Put in an oversized septic and freshwater system and do casita cabins and campground style spots for rigs.
