Very restrained game: few fireworks, but strong execution. I wonder whether perhaps Red didn't know how bots were scored... and was hunkering down trying to get second (when in fact that was already secure).
22:11 It makes it possible for him to play for second, since without him killing the 4 stack it is not possible for you to get the red kill. Although saving the attack on blue for an extra card would likely be better.

So, you obviously don't want to attempt to take another player's capital unless you have the troops to do it, but what other factors go in to determining if taking a capital is a good idea? Would it be ideal to have another place to get troops and also being able to add to all owned capitals? Any advice there GM Pete (speaking it into existence)
You don’t really need chokes on classic caps. You need a late game cap to not get blocked. Quebec is a terrible cap here with only 2 territories before you’re card blocked.
Hallo Pete, at 13:15 you traded but it didn't give you the 2 troops for brazil? is it a bug or intended to only give 2 troops on 1 territory instead of all the territories you own??
I was thinking he could’ve triple tapped the 43 cap at 28:26 as well with his 45, 27, and 21. I’m not as experienced with caps though so perhaps it wouldn’t be enough
Agreed. I'm guessing that the total number of troops broken into 2 stacks is less effective than double the amount of troops is one stack... Just guessing
I swear I have the worst luck on risk. I always get useless placement and by the time my turn rolls around most of my spots have been killed. I try to mind my business or make alliances and yet for some reason players just always choose me to go after no matter where I try to build
Pete it worked out for you so not trying to backseat drive here. But you asked about being too cautious. I think you just had the wrong mindset thinking about killing pink. On classic caps you want them to slam you since bonuses don’t mean much. In your case, clear red from Asia once he locked his stack in and force him to try to cap hit your Alaska (buff it more than Africa since neither enemy stack can hit Africa). Once he locks off Iceland you can card block both of them. Even if they coordinate to slam you you’d still win with your early advantage. Since you took so much board all pink and red had to do was trade in Australia forever and they’d have won. Obviously pink didn’t see that but in a higher skill lobby it’s trouble. Keep up the good work!
I think red already determined they were gonna be in 2nd place. So they just played as not disturbing as possible. So you would just kill all the cpu's first.

Jeez. 4:13 no that was bot motion, you are playing a 4 player game, they just stacked on like 4ish territories and passed turn, I don't think you caught it, but you will on their next turn i'm just guessing. 5:19 called it. (that pete would see this turn.) I think he was looking away when it happened last time. 23:42 I doubt he does this but he could go for a little walk here, and take every non-purple and non-blue spot in asia (not counting pink's cap of course) just to clear red of exteriors. Forcing them to start taking those blue europe pieces, imagine if those things had kept growing like purples, jeez. 30:50 is there a reason the last 2 turns you didn't use your 4 stack to eliminate the last of the red russian territory? - I see 31:18 I'm going to guess it was one final card take to keep a block going.

I think they figured fighting red in Europe was losing in the long run so they just decided to send it. Didn't work out though haha

that Quebec cap actually looked great to me, that's an awesome choke. hard to guard NA with maybe but the overall influence looks good.

It’s not an issue of winning the capital. It’s moving too many troops off of others and keeping all 3.

In this game, it's EXTREMELY HARD ... to find where the opponent is.

I'm glad to see you using the neutral bots. I've been using those too and I like the games way better
Pink taking Aus was such a bad move..he spent 23 troops to get a 2 troop per round generation....will take 12 rounds to break even,...game wont last 4
