Omgosh….. It’s your “Mini-me” and he did a fantastic job! You could tell how much he was enjoying his catfishing adventure with dad!………… loved it!
Nice outing. I noodle alot on lake limestone with grandkids. They love it. Make your chicken pieces a few days before, and marinate in a baggie, with garlic powder. Whatever you dont use, freeze it for next time. Go over the area your going to fish with range cubes, or sour grain, a hour before you start, and it will fire up those catfish.
OH YEAH!!! A cold glass of that cherry would be good in that heat.

Such a great video. We have a kids fishing tournament every year where I work and the winner a few years back used koolaid soaked chicken. It was awesome!! They hit that before anything else!
Also, for channel cats, a 2/0 circle hook is plenty.

My son and I made some catfish jugs using pool noodles. 14" long and put 50ft of braided mason line on each one. We also made 2lb concrete weights to go on the end of each line. 3 5/0 and 6/0 circle hooks per noodle/jug. The depth is adjustable by letting the line out until the weight hits the bottom and giving it 3-4 wraps back on the jug followed by a half hitch which keeps it from continuing to unroll and its off the bottom about 3-5 ft letting it drift. We like using cut or whole shad or cut drum, barelyhookingthe bait with lots of hook tip exposed. Very effective, 2 man limit in about 2 hours, mostly blue cats and a couple channel cats. Set them near change in depth and used wind/current. Oologah Lake, OK. GOOD LUCK, 903 FISHING!

Good video! I noodle fish also, and found out if you add some garlic; not too much. It will increase your sent with the kool-Aid. You said you thought you had too big of hook, you might want to mix up your hook size selection on your noodles. I fish Sardis Lake in Mississippi and I use 1 ot to 3 ot, do better that way!
I've caught 2 limits on 2 different days a few years ago on lake tawakoni on the bank with punch bait
Me and the wife went out on the Jon boat a week or so ago and got on some cats using cut up hotdogs soaked over night in cherry kool-aid and cut up garlic clove. Couldn’t keep the rod in the water for more than 5 mins lol. Great video brother! Definitely try a lil garlic with it too next time

I could never catch catfish with kool-aid and chicken breast. I did however catch some white bass on kool-aid and hotdog.
Try the chicken without the kool-aid. It doesn't help much in my experience. Chicken is a great bait for cats.
