  • The Electrical Engineering Major is the best investment you can make in yourself for college. But you first may ask, what is electrical engineering? What is the electrical engineering major? And is electrical engineering right for me? In this video I aim to answer this question!
    Electrical engineering involves a broad range of subfields including electronics, RF, controls, signal processing, instrumentation, power, and much more. This video gives 17 reasons to study electriccal engineering and covers aspects of electrical engineering undergrad curriculum you can expect. Note that all schools are a little different so don't take this as a guarantee, but hopefully this gives a good overview of what to expect.
    You can find free PDF of my book on my website: www.alialqaraghuli.com

    Im in love with The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch and am sooo impressed by Travis Taylor. Like I just want to listen to him talk cuz hes sooo super smart and im just like..I want to know what HE knows. Ur channel has been so helpful. I saw he first got a bs in electrical engineering so i am looking into it and i love everything ur saying so far. I was originally thinking to go for just physics, but this is applied physics and thats what i want. I also get super excited about the technology they use on that show and expedition bigfoot. It would b so cool if i could make my own equipment. I love the FLIR cameras, LIDAR, oh and I even love the REM pods they use in ghost hunting. I took half a semester of integrated chem/phys in high school and really liked it. I also have read half the book called Atom: Journey Across the Subatomic Cosmos, i just got stuck on the chapter about radiation..i think it was..and couldnt finish it cuz i didnt understand, but was reading it for fun and it made me feel 'at home' so hearing that electrical engineering isnt just all wires but dealing with energy, frequency, waves, atoms...that makes me super excited. I just turned 30. I have been tryna figure out what i wanna do for 10 years now. Still havent gone to school.

    Hey man!
    This channel of yours is an amazing find. I was looking for something I want to do for years. Any job I would undertake seemed off and I was going crazy. I love music (listen to prog metal and always look for more stuff), love business (have a dream of building my business) and in fact I used to work as a live sound operator. I loved tinkering with tech. But I just felt that I can do way more than that. I wanted to go waaay deeper. More fundamental. But my surroundings were very unsupportive. Struggled hardcore...I went deep into philosophy and liked trying to understand the structure of the universe. The spiritual information on the net seemed interesting sometimes, but a bit... naive or just delusional quite often. I didn't buy a lot of it. But I liked the philosophy behind some ideas. It resonated. So the fundamentals of philosophical enquiry were in the ancient Greece I realised one day. So I found my first hero. Aristotle. I loved the way he is thinking and I felt that I got closer to something within me. After that I employed the Ethics and character building into my identity to deal with the sketchy upbringing I've been exposed to and went on looking to do something further on my journey. Waves are fascinating to me and I realised that I used to be immersed in documentaries about Nikola Tesla and Edisons war on the AC and DC. The more I got into electrics the more everything clicked. What you talk about in this episode is so close to my heart and soul. This is what I want to do.
    Could you give me some suggestions of what are my options on becoming an electrical engineer? I live in Lithuania at the moment. I am divorced and am broke for the most part. But I manage to make ends meet. Right now I enrolled in a 1 year program to get an electricians profession and started working for a company (civil engineering type) that sends electricians to work in Sweden. Thats how I make a bit of money to give me a head start for this year. Its important for me to decide how to move forward. I am thinking between making a business that would pay my way into a degree in electrical engineering. Thinking of doing it by learning to code and make a website that resells electrical equipment... but it could be tedious dealing with storage and stuff. So maybe that busness could be purely online, but also I could just learn coding and work remotely to pay for a degree. What I think I am going after is machine learning and robotics... so coding is very very relevant in any case. I would like to understand AI better, Neurolink is supper interesting to me. I have many ideas of what I would like to do... But i need to get of the ground. Life really weren't a breeze with this wonderfully uncompromising brain of mine. (my avatar is the way that it is for a reason ;) thats how my soul works pretty much.
    Please help me out with some guidance man. Please. Thank you!

    • @alithedazzling
      @alithedazzling  Год назад +2

      Hey! Thanks for the comment, this was really good writing -- I appreciate it.
      I would say if you are interested in electrical engineering, if you can get that electricial program finished and go to sweden that would be a great idea. Also moving to a new place can help you re-invent yourself and over there I can imagine it is easier to find resources for electrical engineering projects. Although you can do this perfectly do this in Lithuania as well.
      A business could be a good idea, but I have found it better to go make money working under some people first and learning through them before I could venture off on my own. This will obviously depend on so many different variables so its very hard to give specfiic advice, but the only advice I have is trust your intuition and do what makes sense and just believe you can do it. There's a story of a guy named Og Mandino who wrote a fantastic book called greatest salesman in the world, I would highly recommend it, he was also divorced and was likely homeless, then became super successful.
      I'd also love to visit Lithuania some day, I've been to Latvia and Estonia, both beautiful countries.
      Peace love!

    I have a accelerated 5 year masters in ME already, but i realized along the way i was interested in EE/&comps a fair bit. What do you advise me to do? Can i pickup the skills by just doing it on my own through the years? Or do i have to get another degree in EE.. whats the best way for me to cover the field since i already have a degree that has overlaps. I really dont want to start all over again and I dont think i have to. Do you think watching a bunch of lectures on youtube and tinkering with things may do it? Or like probably going to have to read books right. I would think i may want my learnings to be certified too right? If i want companies to actually acknowledge and certified my studyings though.. ? Every decent Computer Science undergraduate program teaches the "low level" stuff about how computers work. They include courses like: Computer Architecture and Organization, Operating Systems and Systems programming . You learn not only how computers work physically but also how the software interacts with the hardware.
    Although, there is a low bar to be a programmer in today's job market as you don't even need a degree, you are comparing degrees here and as I said those topics are included in any decent CS UG program.
