If you can only get cheap wins off of fodder peoole, then yes, ur weak asf Hidan is the worst apsrt of a top 10 players because the best and above are infinitely superior while the rest are fodder with hardly any feats
Hidans is a one trick pony but his ritual is broken. With the right partner and strategy they could beat almost everyone. That makes hidan a very powerful ninja tool😂
Kurenai is very interesting we haven't seen Hidan go up against a genjutsu user but that would have been a very cool interaction also Darui is also interesting you ever thought about him in a vs video

The biggest problem with saying Hidan is Kakashi level (in Taijutsu) is that Kakashi was also defending against two masks that could fly, had A-rank AOE attacks, and didn't care if they hit Hidan. Keep in mind that Shikimaru was dodging Hidan. Shikimaru is smart but he has no perception feats and no speed feats. Neji has both on top of having a defense against tai/buki/kenjutsu and he has RANGED TAIJUTSU ATTACKS that can shut down a chakra network and blow Hidans sythe away. "Hidan doesn't need organs to live" he literally died from malnutrition... which is just his organs shutting down. The Chakra Network is tied to a persons ability to live, it's intertwined with the organ, blood, and nervous systems.
Kotetsu and Izumo are Chunin even though they have just as many feats as the other special Jonin lol. They probably would be Jonin in other villages tho.

very nice video with really well done in-depth analysis but i think in the matchups, theres one factor that goes against anyone in this vs Hidan: since he cant be killed, the longer a fight goes, the easier it gets for Hidan, so characters that dont really have a way to incapacitate him (beheading him or something like that) cannot win the fight, especially with amps that have detrimental effects later.
One nitpick about Kakuzu saying "you might die". It's not just that he was lying in order to give Yugito false confidence, Kakuzu also says that when he's alone with Hidan, he does that to provoke him, as the two are constantly bickering. In fact, you can read that scene as the two arguing with each other and not even taking Yugito seriously. Now, ok... In defense of Neji, you briefly mentioned the Rotation, but you didn't mention that Neji can use a more basic version of that by simply releasing chakra from any part of his body. That's how he cut Kidoumaru's webs even though he had his hands immobilized, and how he deflected his golden kunai just after the Rotation ended. So, given that Hidan's offensive power relies on regular steel weapons, and he wouldn't be able to catch Neji off guard, or in his blind spot, I don't see him being able to draw blood here, at least not while Neji still has chakra. The question is how would Neji beat him. Given that Hidan can pierce his own heart and be fine, and speak with a severed head, I think he's immune to the effects of the Gentle Fist damaging his internal organs. The Air Palm would do nothing as Hidan is able to tank Kakuzu's Wind Style. That leaves the 64 palms. This interaction would depend on the writer. It would either do nothing or Neji blocking Hidan's chakra network would mess his immortality in the affected regions, the reason being that his immortality jutsu must use chakra in some way, either that or Lord Jashin actually exists and the curse is an external force like Sage Mode or a Jinchuriki's Bijuu, but that would be a baseless assumption.
This is a pretty good comment. If Neji's Taijutsu hax cannot effect Hidan then he has no win condition. However I will say that at this point in the series we know that Lord Jashin does not actually exist. Hidan's "Immortality" is just the result of a mad cultist group creating their own Kekkei Genkai.
Can't say I agree about Neji... He can use vacuum palm and vacuum wall, both being long range attacks that no one without a Kekkei Kenkai can perceive. Plus they can affect the chakra network. His vacuum palm can deflect the 10 tails arms and tails plus ripping throw Senjutsu constructs, ain't no way Hidans weapon is tanking that. Neji has beaten Kidomaru & Kidomaru is also a long range fighter like Hidan with arguably more potent long range prowess. Plus, databook 4 literally shows that his speed stats are the same as Sasuke's prior the SO6P amps, making him faster than Hidan.
This is a small version my friend and the rest I wrote out...That's a very interesting point. We look at manga btw IA Kakashi's performance aginst the Akatsuki should be compared with the likes of Asuma and in my book, Asuma actually outperformed him. Both Asuma and Kakashi were going toe to toe with Hidan in CQC, except that Kakashi had full knowledge on Hidan's abilities, Hidan couldnt use his rope in that fight, and Kakashi had the Sharingan. Asuma fought Hidan without any knowledge on his abilities, and had to deal with that tricky rope, which can change the scythe's trajectory in any moment (thats how Asuma got caught off guard), and also Asuma doesnt need a Sharingan to keep up with Hidan. People say Shikamaru was helping Asuma, with his shadows, fine, but look at all the help Shikamaru gave to Kakashi... imagine if he couldve helpe Asuma so much?... Shikamaru told Kakashi about Hidan's abilities; he found a way to get rid of Hidan's rope; he found a way to use Hidan'a ritual on Kakuzu; he created an opening with Choji, for Kakashi to jump in and destroy the Domu mask; he also used the shadow jutsu to help Kakashi against Hidan for a while; Shikamaru took Hidan to a forest, where he had this trap all set for him. That's a lot of help.
To start Asuma fought on the front lines from the start meanwhile, Shikamaru was the one to fight on the front lines for a whole chapter before Kakashi use Raikari to destroy 1 of Kakazu hearts. This is equivalent to Asuma decapitating Hidan's head. Asuma had cut down the kunai sword from Hidan in a clash. Asuma then cut down the other kunai sword and actually blocked off the scythe even when Asuma was blindsided by the kunai sword. Asuma does so In close proximity then that of normal cqc distance with the kunai sword Tilt still being in mid air as he Orginally blocked the scythe. Asuma was cut because he changed the position of the scythe mid clash. Asuma carved his weapon through spiritual energy which is where you use your minds energy to build and carve chakra. Which is a good technique but it sets off the chakra as it's built for a sole purpose. Which is why the chakra is set off afterwards. When Asuma actually stops in his tracks to do so as he's seeing waiting for Hidan thrown kunai sword before cutting it down. Had Asuma grinded his chakra effectively and in character he did orginally which is why when he first clashed his chakra stayed on. Even the second time Asuma use hien where he channeled chakra this time is that we see wind chakra stay on even after hien is swung. We see Asuma use chakra sword that will beneficial here. Asuma had just chosen the wrong move which was exploited by going in with no knowledge. Which makes sense but Asuma wasn't losing just on being far inferior. In fact in character how many times would wind chakra be cut off or not used in response when that's Asuma' calling card. After Asuma was burned, hole through his leg, blitzed and slammed by Kakazu. Was able to dodge a spear pretty much right at his face and dodge the Scythe through Hidan attempting to blindside Asuma through his timing from each other attacks.
Asuma would of cut through Hidan scythe and the latter will favor Asuma considering Hidan loses the factors to cut Asuma. The anime scene where Hidan scythe ignore wind chakra will not happen it will cut down against a ropeless Hidan and move on from there. Sure Asuma has to hone it right and use the right arm but that's all. Indicating there is proper rate for Asuma to win or go further against a harder Hidan without knowledge. The problem with Kakashi his anime counter part scenes are exaggerated. Hidan scenes were 1 v 1 as he forced clashes with Kakashi 3 times just by going. Short distance up a tree before Kakazu wind mask got up and blasted area. Hidan was supporting Kakazu mask and wasn't being supported. Kakashi didn't land a cut either and having a kunai only will not of carried him to decapitation or cutting of limbs with a different weapon especially against the Hidan Asuma faced. All of Kakashi ninjutsu is useless outside raikari. Kakashi was being caught up and clashed with and couldn't avoid all he could do was block even with 3T advantage. He clashed with Hidan a second executive 3 times and same result of nothing although Hidan didn't land an attack either. Kakashi did have to deal with wind mask and avoid fire mask and save team Asuma from lightning mask but this has nothing to do with Hidan or have him jump those miles stone. In fact once Shikamaru took Hidan away Kakazu blitzed Kakashi twice. The first Shikamaru saved him so both needed saving by Shikamaru. Which is fair Asuma dealing with surprise ritual and Kakashi a blitzing technique. Remember most people wouldn't think a scratch lead to a ritual a arguable reason to why Asuma thought he was fine clashing without even setting wind chakra which wouldn't take a second. Both Asuma and Kakashi wouldn't tag a rope Hidan atleast for a while. Kakashi can't cut weapons like Asuma or efficiently. Asuma reactions were nowhere near inferior to Kakashi with 3T as per canon. Meaning Kakashi limits is not much above Asuma and has drawbacks. Kakashi survived but he was surviving a battle he wasn't advancing.
That data book statement is IFFY.Asuma having the best close quarters than kakashi,and by default guy.But kakashi Handled a more serious Hidan better.Makes me think Neji would just do better than asuma.His Byakugan can’t be off guarded,it sees in slow motion.And because he can push out a chakra shield he can off guard Hidan with an air palm and try to kill him.
I agree I don’t buy that Asuma is better than Kakashi( who can precog attacks+ has a better combat speed in terms of feats and Guy who’s a taijutsu master+ relative to Kakashi) in close combat. The Neji situation is kinda iffy. It would comedown to if we really believe Hidan combat speed is that much superior to Neji reaction/ combat speed.
@@ross.b8699 Asuma is betterin Close-Quarters, they likely aren't taking account of the Sharingan and Jutsu, same way Gojo admits someone like (THE AFRICAN GUY) could eventually beat him if they were simply at a even-playing field.
Wait what, byakugan can’t see in slow motion, why does everyone think that? Sharingan can basically do that by reading things before they happen. Byakugan just has no blind spots, and you can kind of anticipate attacks by seeing where the opponent is putting chakra.
Ah another Hidan enjoyer I see. Hidan is interesting. Not very strong in a way, but still his abilities are kinda broken used in the right ways. Anytime people try to talk about how “X character beats the entire Akatsuki,” I like to bring him up. Because as flimsy as he is in a lot of those scenarios, I like to think the Akatsuki are savvy enough to know that one trick up their sleeve is just to land any hit at all which bleeds enough, and get some of that blood to Hidan. As right as I think I am about that, I love how much it upsets some people who by this point are so biased against Hidan they think he’s just pure useless fodder.
@@Virhtue Yeah. Darui is hard to gauge cause it's within his character to be the badass guy who's more bothered than troubled so I don't necessarily know his upper limits. I always just considered him a lazier Kakashi
i feel neji have a really good shot at winning, not beacuse he is better then asuma, but beacuse his attacks work to shut down the other fighter. so as long as neji could shut down enough of his chakra points hidan could be rendered useless for the mostpart without killing him. bassically i think his fighting style hard counters the undead part of hidans kit.
I mean we all knew that everyone starting from Darui would be an asswhooping once more xD However I do actually think that Choza (Konoha´s highest War Potential) could pose an issue for Hidan. In the War Arc he is shown to be somewhat relative to Butterfly Choji who just beat up Edo Kakuzu. Also Choza using his chain from a distance to wrap Hidan up could be an asset for him as well as he even used it in tandem with Choji against Pain. And I believe that if Hidan gets wrapped up that he shouldn´t really be able to escape if he gets tied down by Choza. That doesn´t mean that I think Choza stomps or anything, but I think that he does stand a chance at winning.

Since Choza is closer to Butterfly Choji than Regular Choji, I do still think that his raw strength could be a major factor, since Choji's strength was already shown to not be irrelevant in the fight against Kakuzu. And while possible, him being put into the same Tier of importance as people like Kakashi in the war arc, could mean that he's stronger than Base Kakashi even before, unless we wanna say that Choza inexplicably got a way higher (relative) power boost than Kakashi and Guy who already train daily and more than anyone else.
I feel even if the meet 1on1 asuma would lose most people would actually. Just due to the nature of hidans jutsu. Remember shikamaru gave kakashi the run down if asuma had the same intel hidan is cooked.
To name a few other jonin (or jonin level, but unknown rank shinobi): Baki of the sand, Dodai of the cloud, Ao, Chojuro, Kitsuchi, Kurotsuchi, Kankuro, Temari, Zabuza Momochi, Granny Chiyo, Inoichi Yamanaka, Shikaku Nara, Toroi of the cloud (edo tensei w magnet release), Shino Aburame, etc. (even giving Shikamaru a rematch w no prep-time). Including elite jonin would also be interesting and relevant: Aoba of the leaf, Hayate Gecko, Genma of the leaf, Raido of the leaf, etc. (even Izumo & Kotetsu, the chunin duo from Asuma’s team, would be hype)

if you subscribe to the theory of dms kakashi speed blitzing kaguya then there is really nothing Naruto or sasuke can do unless you take their final valley forms and even though I believe an argument can be made that he can beat either in a 1v1 dms kakashi is by far the most broken shippuden character

the zombie duel is my favorite of the akatsuki just wished that arc didn't get rushed, he's supposed to have some other abilities as well. he heals from the burns of burning ash but his ear doesn't recover, he can tank kakuzu's heart attacks & play with the 2&7 tails but gets blown to pieces by paper bombs 🤨
Ensui and Santa helped Kakashi defeat the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and deserve more respect. B is not officially ranked as a jōnin. Kakuzu often tells Hidan to be careful, it is a running gag betwixt them. Sasori can control over a hundred weapons at once with the utmost precision, and Konan can do so in the thousands, so I doubt Hidan is beating them therein. Izumo and Kotetsu are not jōnin. they are chūnin. Kakuzu, if he were faster than Hidan, might elect to keep pace with him to not get themselves split up. Kakashi might elect to play defensively against Hidan given he cannot elect to make a single mistake, and also has Kakuzu's masks nearby. Kakashi was able to use Kamui when exhausted after using it once on Deidara against the Suicide Clone, though it landed him in the hospital, and he said his usage against Kakuzu would have done the same. Kakshi openly acknowledges Itachi as his junior when they were in the AnBu, so he was clearly exaggerating to Yamato. Yamato is not a jōnin, though.
I think Kurenai claps Hidan. Shes someone that’s very underrated if you go back and look at her feats. I think she’d do a lot better than Asuma especially since she already out did Asuma in their fight against akatsuki l. Despite Asuma getting instantly shredded by kisame, Kurenai was able to put not just itachi but kisame in a genjutsu as well. Not only this but she also reacts and dodges an intial attack from Itachi when he tried to attack her right before she completely exited the genjutsu and then is able to block his second kick. Kurenai was able to react to itachis taijutsu as well as showed she could engage itachi in genjutsu equally. yet kakashi literally says itachis JUTSU is too fast and his eyes can’t keep up with him. He doesn’t just say ninjutsu but Jutsu in general. Meaning Kurenai can react to someone that Kakashi can’t without using the ability to predict his opponent’s moves via sharingan. Kurenai should easily be able to keep up with and maybe even out speed Hidan despite Asuma not being able to.
@elterp2187 talk is not the same thing as being able to move around... his whole body was on the floor and he couldn't move at all. That's the point, the gentle fist will mess up his Chakra system which will immobilize him

Yeah he could probably crush him to death ez but would make an easy target to get blood from. All Hidan has to do is avoid him and just make a little slice when he expands a hand and tries to slap him or sum.

I disagree. Neji is a skilled fighter and probably has better defenses than Asuma, but Neji specializes in gentle fist. Gentle fist attacks vital organs and Hidon doesn't need vital organs to live. We don't know enough about Hidon's immortality to argue that his immortality is chakra based and gentle fist could somehow disable it. Neji would last longer against Hidon than Asuma, but he still would lose.

Hidan will never be able to hit neji swinging around a Scythe like an idiot just like Kakashi, plus he has defensive measures if it ever came down to it which I doubt he’ll need…… Neji can also fight long range…. Hidan is pretty dumb and people like him usually have terrible genjutsu defenses, see Naruto from part 1 lol. Unironically I think Kurenai is a terrible matchup for Hidan stylistically and could stomp him.

@@Virhtue Kimimaro can literally chop steel weapons in half. What's Hidan gonna do when his scythe is in 50 pieces? Kimi has ranged attacks to block Shuriken and Kunai if he felt like it, or just cut them in half too. Unlike Hidan, Kimi has shown that he has an active and effective regen. If we get rid of the timer, unhealthy Kimi should take the dub even fighting passively in BASE. How is Hidan going to beat PTS Gaara? He's not gonna touch him and now the entire arena is sunk under 500 feet of sand. If Kimi couldn't scratch him with better armaments and jutsu, Hidan can't.
Hidan has always been the most slept on Akatsuki member by far while Konan imo is the most overrated. The only reason he even loses to so many members of the Akatsuki is because all of the ones he would actually beat in a random encounter know exactly how his abilities work and or hard counter him. While the rest of the Akatsuki have such high battle IQ that they can deduce how Hidan's abilities work during the fight without getting hit first. People forget that without prior knowledge Hidan almost killed a Shinobi as strong as Kakuzu in their first fight. Even as far as stats are concerned he is absolutely one of the higher tier members in the Akatsuki. His "Immortality" is basically just a busted healing factor that greatly enhances his physical stats. Despite all the damage we've seen him take he had no visible scars until after the Asuma fight. Implying that even his scars will heal given enough time. I think only a few days had passed since Asuma had been killed which is why he still had that scar when Team Asuma and Kakashi came after him and Kakuzu. Prior to that it's almost certain that Hidan has always acted as the tank in the Immortal Duo. There is no way he didn't tank multiple direct attacks from Yugito, Hidan took who knows how many attacks from Chiriku and his monks in that gigantic temple _(which was completely destroyed by the end of that battle),_ during the fight with Kakashi we saw him tank and essentially no sell some of Kakuzu's most powerful techniques during their combination attacks, when Shikamaru blew him up with all those condensed explosive tags he was not turned into paste when even a durability monster like Kisame would have been, etc. Hidan obviously has Accelerated Healing and significantly superhuman stats even by an Akatsuki member's standards. It's just that whenever he shows up in a discussion nobody considers the context of the match up.
Choza still have a giant stick in case vs Hidan The Neji scaling is interesting but he have nothing to puts him down + Neji is essentialy a barehanded fighter vs a weapon fighter. The risk of him being cut is very high. I mean people clown Kurenai for the genjutsu reverse BUT she managed to get free of it wich is an absolute very good feat but people ignore that bcs they're too busy sucking Itachi. Kakuzu makes a joke about gold (kin) and silver general (gin) = each different pieces in shogi in double while Kakuzu is the bishop. The bishop is an unique piece also referred as the horse dragon and in base and evolved are more efficient than the silver or gold general and gold general can't evolve... I mean, do shogi research before doing this misinformation. Yeah Guy beat up Hidan in base but can't take him down, he needs gates to get rid of him. For Kakashi, since he would start in perfect shape, he would surely be faster but Kakashi would have more trouble than guy due to his stamina AND NO, Kakashi doesnt chopped off head in character. He would need either sealing jutsu/kamui or immobilize him in something solid that Hidan cannot break. Choza was boxing with the gedo statue not really sure how you can justify hidan winning against him ? His moves (Rotation and air palm) counter hidans … Air palm keeps him at a distance rotation protects him from the scythe, not to mention Neji is legitimately way smarter than hidan. I am positive. He can figure something out against him.

What can hidan do to a cocooned gaara? or what if a ninja puts a water prison around themselves, or hides underground? like the number of cases where hidan has no resources to work with is too much.

The biggest problem with saying Hidan is Kakashi level (in Taijutsu) is that Kakashi was also defending against two masks that could fly, had A-rank AOE attacks, and didn't care if they hit Hidan. Keep in mind that Shikimaru was dodging Hidan. Shikimaru is smart but he has no perception feats and no speed feats. Neji has both on top of having a defense against tai/buki/kenjutsu and he has RANGED TAIJUTSU ATTACKS that can shut down a chakra network and blow Hidans sythe away. "Hidan doesn't need organs to live" he literally died from malnutrition... which is just his organs shutting down. The Chakra Network is tied to a persons ability to live, it's intertwined with the organ, blood, and nervous systems.

very nice video with really well done in-depth analysis but i think in the matchups, theres one factor that goes against anyone in this vs Hidan: since he cant be killed, the longer a fight goes, the easier it gets for Hidan, so characters that dont really have a way to incapacitate him (beheading him or something like that) cannot win the fight, especially with amps that have detrimental effects later.

One nitpick about Kakuzu saying "you might die". It's not just that he was lying in order to give Yugito false confidence, Kakuzu also says that when he's alone with Hidan, he does that to provoke him, as the two are constantly bickering. In fact, you can read that scene as the two arguing with each other and not even taking Yugito seriously.
Now, ok... In defense of Neji, you briefly mentioned the Rotation, but you didn't mention that Neji can use a more basic version of that by simply releasing chakra from any part of his body. That's how he cut Kidoumaru's webs even though he had his hands immobilized, and how he deflected his golden kunai just after the Rotation ended. So, given that Hidan's offensive power relies on regular steel weapons, and he wouldn't be able to catch Neji off guard, or in his blind spot, I don't see him being able to draw blood here, at least not while Neji still has chakra. The question is how would Neji beat him. Given that Hidan can pierce his own heart and be fine, and speak with a severed head, I think he's immune to the effects of the Gentle Fist damaging his internal organs. The Air Palm would do nothing as Hidan is able to tank Kakuzu's Wind Style. That leaves the 64 palms. This interaction would depend on the writer. It would either do nothing or Neji blocking Hidan's chakra network would mess his immortality in the affected regions, the reason being that his immortality jutsu must use chakra in some way, either that or Lord Jashin actually exists and the curse is an external force like Sage Mode or a Jinchuriki's Bijuu, but that would be a baseless assumption.

This is a pretty good comment. If Neji's Taijutsu hax cannot effect Hidan then he has no win condition. However I will say that at this point in the series we know that Lord Jashin does not actually exist. Hidan's "Immortality" is just the result of a mad cultist group creating their own Kekkei Genkai.

He can use vacuum palm and vacuum wall, both being long range attacks that no one without a Kekkei Kenkai can perceive. Plus they can affect the chakra network. His vacuum palm can deflect the 10 tails arms and tails plus ripping throw Senjutsu constructs, ain't no way Hidans weapon is tanking that.
Neji has beaten Kidomaru & Kidomaru is also a long range fighter like Hidan with arguably more potent long range prowess.
Plus, databook 4 literally shows that his speed stats are the same as Sasuke's prior the SO6P amps, making him faster than Hidan.

This is a small version my friend and the rest I wrote out...That's a very interesting point. We look at manga btw
IA Kakashi's performance aginst the Akatsuki should be compared with the likes of Asuma and in my book, Asuma actually outperformed him.
Both Asuma and Kakashi were going toe to toe with Hidan in CQC, except that Kakashi had full knowledge on Hidan's abilities, Hidan couldnt use his rope in that fight, and Kakashi had the Sharingan.
Asuma fought Hidan without any knowledge on his abilities, and had to deal with that tricky rope, which can change the scythe's trajectory in any moment (thats how Asuma got caught off guard), and also Asuma doesnt need a Sharingan to keep up with Hidan.
People say Shikamaru was helping Asuma, with his shadows, fine, but look at all the help Shikamaru gave to Kakashi... imagine if he couldve helpe Asuma so much?...
Shikamaru told Kakashi about Hidan's abilities; he found a way to get rid of Hidan's rope; he found a way to use Hidan'a ritual on Kakuzu; he created an opening with Choji, for Kakashi to jump in and destroy the Domu mask; he also used the shadow jutsu to help Kakashi against Hidan for a while; Shikamaru took Hidan to a forest, where he had this trap all set for him.
That's a lot of help.
To start Asuma fought on the front lines from the start meanwhile, Shikamaru was the one to fight on the front lines for a whole chapter before Kakashi use Raikari to destroy 1 of Kakazu hearts. This is equivalent to Asuma decapitating Hidan's head. Asuma had cut down the kunai sword from Hidan in a clash. Asuma then cut down the other kunai sword and actually blocked off the scythe even when Asuma was blindsided by the kunai sword. Asuma does so In close proximity then that of normal cqc distance with the kunai sword Tilt still being in mid air as he Orginally blocked the scythe. Asuma was cut because he changed the position of the scythe mid clash.
Asuma carved his weapon through spiritual energy which is where you use your minds energy to build and carve chakra. Which is a good technique but it sets off the chakra as it's built for a sole purpose. Which is why the chakra is set off afterwards. When Asuma actually stops in his tracks to do so as he's seeing waiting for Hidan thrown kunai sword before cutting it down.
Had Asuma grinded his chakra effectively and in character he did orginally which is why when he first clashed his chakra stayed on. Even the second time Asuma use hien where he channeled chakra this time is that we see wind chakra stay on even after hien is swung. We see Asuma use chakra sword that will beneficial here. Asuma had just chosen the wrong move which was exploited by going in with no knowledge. Which makes sense but Asuma wasn't losing just on being far inferior. In fact in character how many times would wind chakra be cut off or not used in response when that's Asuma' calling card.
After Asuma was burned, hole through his leg, blitzed and slammed by Kakazu. Was able to dodge a spear pretty much right at his face and dodge the Scythe through Hidan attempting to blindside Asuma through his timing from each other attacks.
Asuma would of cut through Hidan scythe and the latter will favor Asuma considering Hidan loses the factors to cut Asuma. The anime scene where Hidan scythe ignore wind chakra will not happen it will cut down against a ropeless Hidan and move on from there. Sure Asuma has to hone it right and use the right arm but that's all. Indicating there is proper rate for Asuma to win or go further against a harder Hidan without knowledge. The problem with Kakashi his anime counter part scenes are exaggerated. Hidan scenes were 1 v 1 as he forced clashes with Kakashi 3 times just by going. Short distance up a tree before Kakazu wind mask got up and blasted area. Hidan was supporting Kakazu mask and wasn't being supported. Kakashi didn't land a cut either and having a kunai only will not of carried him to decapitation or cutting of limbs with a different weapon especially against the Hidan Asuma faced. All of Kakashi ninjutsu is useless outside raikari. Kakashi was being caught up and clashed with and couldn't avoid all he could do was block even with 3T advantage. He clashed with Hidan a second executive 3 times and same result of nothing although Hidan didn't land an attack either. Kakashi did have to deal with wind mask and avoid fire mask and save team Asuma from lightning mask but this has nothing to do with Hidan or have him jump those miles stone. In fact once Shikamaru took Hidan away Kakazu blitzed Kakashi twice. The first Shikamaru saved him so both needed saving by Shikamaru. Which is fair Asuma dealing with surprise ritual and Kakashi a blitzing technique. Remember most people wouldn't think a scratch lead to a ritual a arguable reason to why Asuma thought he was fine clashing without even setting wind chakra which wouldn't take a second. Both Asuma and Kakashi wouldn't tag a rope Hidan atleast for a while. Kakashi can't cut weapons like Asuma or efficiently. Asuma reactions were nowhere near inferior to Kakashi with 3T as per canon. Meaning Kakashi limits is not much above Asuma and has drawbacks. Kakashi survived but he was surviving a battle he wasn't advancing.

I agree I don’t buy that Asuma is better than Kakashi( who can precog attacks+ has a better combat speed in terms of feats and Guy who’s a taijutsu master+ relative to Kakashi) in close combat. Wait what, byakugan can’t see in slow motion, why does everyone think that? Sharingan can basically do that by reading things before they happen. Byakugan just has no blind spots, and you can kind of anticipate attacks by seeing where the opponent is putting chakra.

Ah another Hidan enjoyer I see. Hidan is interesting. Not very strong in a way, but still his abilities are kinda broken used in the right ways. Anytime people try to talk about how “X character beats the entire Akatsuki,” I like to bring him up. Because as flimsy as he is in a lot of those scenarios, I like to think the Akatsuki are savvy enough to know that one trick up their sleeve is just to land any hit at all which bleeds enough, and get some of that blood to Hidan. As right as I think I am about that, I love how much it upsets some people who by this point are so biased against Hidan they think he’s just pure useless fodder.

However I do actually think that Choza (Konoha´s highest War Potential) could pose an issue for Hidan. In the War Arc he is shown to be somewhat relative to Butterfly Choji who just beat up Edo Kakuzu. Also Choza using his chain from a distance to wrap Hidan up could be an asset for him as well as he even used it in tandem with Choji against Pain. And I believe that if Hidan gets wrapped up that he shouldn´t really be able to escape if he gets tied down by Choza.
That doesn´t mean that I think Choza stomps or anything, but I think that he does stand a chance at winning.

Since Choza is closer to Butterfly Choji than Regular Choji, I do still think that his raw strength could be a major factor, since Choji's strength was already shown to not be irrelevant in the fight against Kakuzu. And while possible, him being put into the same Tier of importance as people like Kakashi in the war arc, could mean that he's stronger than Base Kakashi even before, unless we wanna say that Choza inexplicably got a way higher (relative) power boost than Kakashi and Guy who already train daily and more than anyone else.
I feel even if the meet 1on1 asuma would lose most people would actually. Just due to the nature of hidans jutsu. Remember shikamaru gave kakashi the run down if asuma had the same intel hidan is cooked.

Kakuzu often tells Hidan to be careful, it is a running gag betwixt them.
Sasori can control over a hundred weapons at once with the utmost precision, and Konan can do so in the thousands, so I doubt Hidan is beating them therein.
Izumo and Kotetsu are not jōnin. they are chūnin.
Kakuzu, if he were faster than Hidan, might elect to keep pace with him to not get themselves split up.
Kakashi might elect to play defensively against Hidan given he cannot elect to make a single mistake, and also has Kakuzu's masks nearby.
Kakashi was able to use Kamui when exhausted after using it once on Deidara against the Suicide Clone, though it landed him in the hospital, and he said his usage against Kakuzu would have done the same.
Kakshi openly acknowledges Itachi as his junior when they were in the AnBu, so he was clearly exaggerating to Yamato. Yamato is not a jōnin, though.

I think Kurenai claps Hidan. Shes someone that’s very underrated if you go back and look at her feats. I think she’d do a lot better than Asuma especially since she already out did Asuma in their fight against akatsuki l. Despite Asuma getting instantly shredded by kisame, Kurenai was able to put not just itachi but kisame in a genjutsu as well. Not only this but she also reacts and dodges an intial attack from Itachi when he tried to attack her right before she completely exited the genjutsu and then is able to block his second kick.
Kurenai was able to react to itachis taijutsu as well as showed she could engage itachi in genjutsu equally. yet kakashi literally says itachis JUTSU is too fast and his eyes can’t keep up with him. He doesn’t just say ninjutsu but Jutsu in general. Meaning Kurenai can react to someone that Kakashi can’t without using the ability to predict his opponent’s moves via sharingan.
Kurenai should easily be able to keep up with and maybe even out speed Hidan despite Asuma not being able to.

I disagree. Neji is a skilled fighter and probably has better defenses than Asuma, but Neji specializes in gentle fist. Gentle fist attacks vital organs and Hidon doesn't need vital organs to live. We don't know enough about Hidon's immortality to argue that his immortality is chakra based and gentle fist could somehow disable it. Neji would last longer against Hidon than Asuma, but he still would lose.

@@Virhtue Kimimaro can literally chop steel weapons in half. What's Hidan gonna do when his scythe is in 50 pieces? Kimi has ranged attacks to block Shuriken and Kunai if he felt like it, or just cut them in half too. Unlike Hidan, Kimi has shown that he has an active and effective regen. If we get rid of the timer, unhealthy Kimi should take the dub even fighting passively in BASE. How is Hidan going to beat PTS Gaara? He's not gonna touch him and now the entire arena is sunk under 500 feet of sand. If Kimi couldn't scratch him with better armaments and jutsu, Hidan can't.

Hidan has always been the most slept on Akatsuki member by far while Konan imo is the most overrated. The only reason he even loses to so many members of the Akatsuki is because all of the ones he would actually beat in a random encounter know exactly how his abilities work and or hard counter him. While the rest of the Akatsuki have such high battle IQ that they can deduce how Hidan's abilities work during the fight without getting hit first. People forget that without prior knowledge Hidan almost killed a Shinobi as strong as Kakuzu in their first fight.
Even as far as stats are concerned he is absolutely one of the higher tier members in the Akatsuki. His "Immortality" is basically just a busted healing factor that greatly enhances his physical stats. Despite all the damage we've seen him take he had no visible scars until after the Asuma fight. Implying that even his scars will heal given enough time. I think only a few days had passed since Asuma had been killed which is why he still had that scar when Team Asuma and Kakashi came after him and Kakuzu. Prior to that it's almost certain that Hidan has always acted as the tank in the Immortal Duo. There is no way he didn't tank multiple direct attacks from Yugito, Hidan took who knows how many attacks from Chiriku and his monks in that gigantic temple _(which was completely destroyed by the end of that battle),_ during the fight with Kakashi we saw him tank and essentially no sell some of Kakuzu's most powerful techniques during their combination attacks, when Shikamaru blew him up with all those condensed explosive tags he was not turned into paste when even a durability monster like Kisame would have been, etc.
Hidan obviously has Accelerated Healing and significantly superhuman stats even by an Akatsuki member's standards. It's just that whenever he shows up in a discussion nobody considers the context of the match up.

I have to disagree for your Shogi takes of Kin/gin/Kakuzu ranking lol. Kakuzu makes a joke about gold (kin) and silver general (gin) = each different pieces in shogi in double while Kakuzu is the bishop. The bishop is an unique piece also referred as the horse dragon and in base and evolved are more efficient than the silver or gold general and gold general can't evolve... I mean, do shogi research before doing this misinformation.
Yeah Guy beat up Hidan in base but can't take him down, he needs gates to get rid of him. For Kakashi, since he would start in perfect shape, he would surely be faster but Kakashi would have more trouble than guy due to his stamina AND NO, Kakashi doesnt chopped off head in character. He would need either sealing jutsu/kamui or immobilize him in something solid that Hidan cannot break.

Idk Even him supporting kakashi when they were fighting the main path of pain, seemed he was Good support. And I genuinely don’t see Neji losing at all. His moves (Rotation and air palm) counter hidans … Air palm keeps him at a distance rotation protects him from the scythe, not to mention Neji is legitimately way smarter than hidan. I am positive. He can figure something out against him.

take a character like the gaara that beat kimimaro. What can hidan do to a cocooned gaara? or what if a ninja puts a water prison around themselves, or hides underground? like the number of cases where hidan has no resources to work with is too much.
