There are tons of videos showing some particular techniques in detail. What a beginner needs to start with is understanding position and options when lying on the ground which was a a big challenge for me. Playing around even without any guard-passing/retenion technique is where a new student should start with and I really like this approach.
Thanks for the comment, Cene! Indeed, we’ve found that students improve a lot faster when starting with the big pictiure: positions, body postures, basic strategy, and practice methodology. From there, technical details need to be added in layers. Thanks for watching! - Patrick
This is perfect for someone who wonders where to start in a top/bottom situation. And its a perfect MMA 101 recap of the essentials because it all starts from the guard (concerning the ground fighting area). I find that video helpful for remembering the big lines or the main strategies. Another aspect that also applies to any aspect of sparring and also a very good reminder : you cannot learn well if you give 100% of speed and strenght right away. Nice drills from baby steps to mastery !!👌💪
Lockdowns have been going on so long, seeing the gym is nostalgic haha. So from top you want to apply pressure with ground & pound while trying to pass the guard, and from bottom you want to either get back up or go for some offensive grappling /striking options.
Good summary, Powapunx. Don't forget your defense, fighting off attacks from the top, and guard retention from the bottom, which in both cases begins with grip fighting. Hopefully, we'll be back in there training soon enough! Thanks for the comment 🙏 - Patrick
Smarty really seems like a superior product compared to what's on the market. But with a name like "Smarty" makes me hesitant to buy one. I do believe I will be purchasing one, only based on the video marketing. I wouldt even look at a shopping page for it because of the name. Anyone else feel the same ???
wonderful channel. I have a yt channel as well, even though it is not focused on martial arts I do have a bit up. I'd like, if you could find the time, for you to go to my channel and have you evaluate my martial arts videos. Always looking for feedback from a skilled martial artist. hope to hear from you.

Amazing vid. Just a suggestion: can you make a video about clinch/body lock takedowns? Like Fedor Emelianenko or Daniel Cormier
Thanks for the suggestion, was planning on releasing more wrestling content soon enough! - Patrick
