I have a company, founded by my friend, I took over as the CEO, CTO and Head of Development, we're now working on a start up and from our research it should make waves
Unpopular opinion but the logic holds water . But most often at the point of starting, one lacks the capital to hire good, experienced Managers . As business scales and one can afford, one should
I think he's really saying that founders don't want to be COO. We just want to vision the company but not operate it. That's the main reason we came up with the idea, for vision and dreams!
💯%! Yesss!!! THIS is what I’ve attempted to convey amongst teammates at our consultancy , V-Formation Ventures. Thank You! This will definitely be shared. 👏
Y’all this is one of the most accurate things you’ll hear on the internet concerning anything but especially business!!!! Learn your lane!!!! You’re likely not where you’re suppose to be, because you’re playing the wrong position

Maaaan listen hard knocks taught me this lesson about myself in certain aspects of my businesses. I say it like this, You’ve gotta know when you’re the talent and let someone else be the business. You can own it, but let someon else not only run it, but run you too, in relation to making your vision come true!!!!
Interesting!! The founder hiring a CEO and becoming an employee.. Who then interviews the candidates.? Do you disclose to the candidates that you are the founder and will be working for the establishment, under the CEO.? How's the balance of power going to be like.? Who has the final word.? Would the founder fire a CEO.? just curious.
Yeah the ceo has great power them and the shareholders can fire you if you are a problem for the business You are no more the runner of the business you just work there and your name will be still the founder of whatever that you have done
The greatest person who has a say in a business is the major shareholder. What I mean by a major shareholder is, perhaps, someone with at least 51% share in the business/company. This major shareholder has all the authority to duly fire a ceo. Suppose there is no shareholder who owns at least 51% of the business’s/company’s shares, then a majority vote could have the ceo fired. Read up on how Steve Jobs, the Founder of Apple, got fired from his own company.
Well said but most of us in Africa as founders want to run things in the business we founded as CEO or in an autocratic way. To become an employee in the company we founded? That's like taboo 🤣🤣🤣 the employees won't have it too. Its a cultural thing but not good for running a business in this day and age.
I have been working in hospitality and till for 8 years and I'm the best CEO 👌 i had have seen alot of GM and AM they have no CEO . Don't judge a book by the cov
That's the dirty secret of Elon Musk. He found a way to remain a CEO while also finding someone else to do the CEO work, keeping the title of CEO for himself, while hiring Gwen Shotwell as President and Chief Operating Officer full time.
Not really, I've been with a few startups and ill say a large majority would prefer stepping down, having someone else make the shots whilst they continue doing what they love but problem is to find a good CEO. A CEO with experience which you can poach will only be there for the money and for most startups it's passion driven rather than profit. If it's a decent startup it generally is highly technical to beable to build a company off so most people who you can poach won't have the technical skills to understand what is going on and end up running it to the ground.
i played this many times, what a please RUclips allow me to say say Daaaaaaang, i think this is why most of us out there are not going nowhere out there
It makes no sense bro, if you’re starting a business and it becomes big enough to need a ceo then you should be the one cause you don’t make a business big by tossing a fucking coin, what is logic of even being a founder then just the tag?
Its crazy to think that the founder can be an employee and be told what to do by a CEO that they employed. 😂😂😂 I get the concept, but it seems backwards.
Silicon Valley (the series) portrays this well. The main protagonist, Richard, ends up being sidelined in his own business because he was a great coder but a terrible leader.
I’m going to be honest there is no way I build a multi million company from the ground up and become a employee making scraps while someone else runs my company id just get an advisor
Idk why the founder would want to be the CEO. Human greed astounds me.. Why do so many ppl lust for so much more? Give me enough to have a nice house on a big enough plot of land so i can live comfortably and you'll never hear from me again. These sinkholes just want billion after billion after billion smh
He seems to reference supporting literature for this? I think he needs to do more than just say that and show it, if this is really a proven fact, because recent historical trends has been the opposite. Take big tech. Meta, Mark is the founder and CEO. Steve jobs was kicked out just for some CEO. to come and fuck up. Google founders held firm against VCs to have a CEO placed in. In fact, tech is proving the opposite of what this guy is saying. Founders ought to be the CEO and it’s increasingly proving to be the effective path to creating extremely valuable companies. It’s often why a company’s stock price decreases when the founder is no longer operating the company.
Why is he just unnecessarily exaggerating the difference? Its very simple that Founder : someone who founded the company CEO : Founder could be but even person from outside too
Another great thing is Free Education, working day-to-day and side-by-side with a great CEO means that you'll learn a lot.
I'm fortunate enough to be one. I work with a founder who coaches and helps founders and CEO's.
and if that "ceo" stops liking your work and fire u go cry in a corner with that founder tag.
@@bantubintulol you really think the founder has the same contract as the cleaning lady XD.
It's still the owner mate. A CEO is not omnipotent.
@@Sapphier4Dav could be true again not a "suits ' fan you know

Like Richard Branson. I heard in an interview that he'd start a business, then after 1 year or so he'd pick the right CEO ro manage the company.
Unpopular opinion but the logic holds water . But most often at the point of starting, one lacks the capital to hire good, experienced Managers .
As business scales and one can afford, one should
That's not an opinion at all, that's a fact
Mostly unpopular to people who are yet to get their egos in check 🧐

The last statement hits really hard. “You really wanna build stuffs, go build!” 😭😂
Wow! I just found out today that Vusi means 'Wake Up' in a particular language. Explains why his speeches always sound like a wake-up call

This is me! And I thought this is a bad quality that needs to be fixed.
You can just employ someone to do it for you. Or you can upgrade yourself with knowledge on how to be a good CEO

the distinction is just a way to avoid taxes has nothing to do with finding anything or being CEO

If you can grow a business big then you have what it takes to make it bigger.
We gonna differ from that champ, even before the movie came out it was well known that he stole the idea from his friends back in college
How can I be bothered founder and CEO at the same time
Its crazy to think that the founder can be an employee and be told what to do by a CEO that they employed. 😂😂😂 I get the concept, but it seems backwards.
That's how Google became successful. The founders ended up being employees.
Hmmm, man knowledge is powerful
Steve jobs perfect example of this
It works until the ceo pays himself 53 mil as monthly salary

If anyone has lots of money you can become a founder on the other hand
If anyone has skills and good education can become a ceo

And who exactly is your audience under the current circumstances South Africa is in? I always wonder
facts
Facts
go build..
🤣🤣
now thats what i should be looking at...
Unless your name is Steve Jobs
👏
Be ceo and hire president to do the work
Tell that to Steve Jobs
For example Steve Jobs was a Founder and not a good CEO...
😊
The father is the CEO the mother is the founder
The only way you’ll become good at running your business is to RUN IT!!
