4 cups - Chicken stock
1 tbsp - Turmeric powder
1 pc - Red onion
4 cloves - Garlic
250 g - Chicken thigh fillet

8-10 pcs - Shrimp
1 pc - Red bell peppers
1 pc - Green bell peppers
1 tbsp - Paprika
1 tsp - Cayenne peppers

Patis & black pepper to taste

Idk the authentic way but my mum always made valenciana every holidays. Mum is from negros and this is her specialty. I didnt grow up there but for some reason I ate this like a lot. Especially pag yung may pasas na part.

Sa pag observe sa mother ko ng pagluluto noon kaya marunong din ako magluto nito at natutuwa ang ibang members of the family (my husband's side) kapag nagdadala ako nito sa family gatherings namin.

Yan ang di nawawala sa amin pag may handaan , namit gid .
We call this Biringe in pampanga, I mix chicken stocks and gata to cook the malagkit with turmeric add pepper to enhance the curcumin of the turmeric. Good job chef Merry Christmas to everyone.
Yes, almost very similar in cooking method, the only difference is bringhe dont use tomato sauce/paste, it is rich because of coconut milk and coconut cream and bringhe is prone to mishaps that can easily turn the malagkit either malabsak (biko texture) or undeercooked if the rice-liquid ratio is off

At palagi ako naglulut nyan lalo na sa pasko at new year ❤ 🎉🎉🎉tradition nang kapampangan yan kapag may handaan binabalot namin yan sa banana leaves hnd pd mawala yan sa lamesa. Yan lang habol ko kapag nakikibisita ako ang bringhi 😂lalo na ang tutong nya yummyn😂 fyi may kanya kanya version yan san ka masaya doon ka ganon lang yonn.!talke note tip binabaligtad ko yan magkabila na may tutong para tutong sa taas tutong sa ilalim yum kapag walang tutong hnd sya bringhi yan sa kapampangan delicasy 🎉🎉🎉

Thanks very much for this beloved recipe, chef! I was in Grade 2 when I tasted this delicious dish for the first time, when we celebrated my first communion. Hindi ko nakalimutan ang lasa - and I am sure your version is the nearest to that one I had many years ago, esp.bcoz of the sweet raisins which contrasted with the saltiness of the other ingredients.
