- Oregon football star running back De'Anthony Thomas placed third in the 100 meter run with a time of 10.65 seconds during the Twilight Track and Field meet at Hayward Field.

I am sure he cares about his 100m time, and sure he loves all sorts of running which is how he has become as good as he is in Football. Not a one dimensional character.
I would also suggest that if he ran 10.10 he would still be reaching for more the next run. Training for football vs training for track are two completely different animals.
The best people always compete with themselves and continually reach for more.
I say awesome job, this kid isn't just blessed, he also puts in the work.

What are you talking about? He caught 73 balls for almost 1000 yards last season playing on the worst team in the conference, with a freshman QB, and no run game. How can you say his production is bad?

You've seen high schoolers run hand-timed low 10's. If you converted FAT times to hand-timed, DeAnthony would be running 9's.

Wow DeAnthony is still a very fast player but not as fast he seems, I know high school football players in Florida running 10:30s 100m & that's high school.. Thomas is still amazing on the field with his overall package of speed, agility, quickness, & vision, but world class speed??? Not really just on the field vs other bigger slower opponents..

He's probably going pro in football this or next year so I don't think track its priority for him I could see him as a kick returner in the pros nothing more or a Warrick Dunn type small back that playing with Tampa back in the days

In professional track (and not even half of pro track runner are even olympic grade) a 10.65 is slow. So saying an average person runs a 12, well what kind of average are you even talking about.
Marvin Bracy of FSU and Marqise Goodwin of Texas are both faster than Deanthony Thomas.

lol that is not slow in the track world thats only .15 off funding and hes only 20. not slow by a long way. the track world is a lot more than just the 100m final.
