There's a join button under the video. -Candice
I swear every vinyl collection i have looked at has had that Herb Alberts album in it.
Best album cover of all time?
What? No Howard Jones? Great collection! Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
OMG! Lucky you! Those couple of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry albums are pure GEMS!
Awesome! 😱 Love the '80s alternative stuff. 🖤
Its like he found all the records I had in high school.
That is a sick collection of new wave music that I spent many hours listening to
Hello her a message from the Netherlands, 242 is Front 242 , a belgian band from way back, pretty good avantgarde dance music. Greetings Marcel
I had a thing for Adam Ant back in the day. Loving that vinyl collection! Also, my parents had that the Whipped Cream album and I grew up listening to it. lol
Me too - I saw Adam and the Ants in concert with The Romantics opening in I think 1983 - his voice was hot 🥵
I LOVE DEPECHE MODE! Good records there
So glad to hear there's another Missing Persons Fan out there.
“If I sound excited I am “ this video is awesome!
The The was pretty awesome
Oh my goodness! Incredible find! You just brought back so many memories. If you had found this haul in cassette form, I would know that my mum had that garage sale & sold my stash 😂
The Record Exchange was in Cleveland, OH, all over the East side, in the 80s and 90s. I think they opened more shops in the Pittsburgh, PA area later on. WaxStacks was also in Cleveland -- Cleveland Heights, as well, to be exact. I recognize those Record Exchange labels. The date stamp would have been from the day the record was purchased.
I knew you had good taste in music from the shirts you wear in your videos! That Midnight Oil record is just untouchable. "Bullroarer" is probably my fav track, but they are all great. I've been selling vinyl like that stuff for years, and just sold a Cure 12" on Discogs this afternoon. Great score for Guy and not bad for you either!
Red Sails is an AWESOME album! Still got 2 copies.
WOW just WOW!!
You are correct on the Company B - Fascinated record.. Great tune! and awesome find on the vinyl.
Big 80's find of the year!! Amazing!!
I knew something was brewing great to see him again and the deals were awesome. look forward to seeing the sales info from those as they would go for quite a bit in the uk
Really sweet albums Theater programs, Nice score on the records, Car stereo speaker systems and accessories Thanks Lonnie and Candace Out
Love all that music...great buy.
This video made me soooo happy, we have the same taste in music!
Great new wave bunch of records only for 100 Dollars! I never passes such a bunch, cause new wave is my favourite style of music. Front 242 are an electronic band from where I am: Belgium and are the creators of Electronic Body Music. Legendary band, more known in Europe than the US, but also many fans in the US, as they did already many tours in the US! Executive Slacks were from Philadelphia, US. I collect their records! Great band, combining synths and guitars. That record that you showed there, I don't yet have it. greetz from Belgium
Blaupunkt was driving me crazy!! Lol. It's pronounced block-punt lol
Thank you for this great video. Here's a bit of info for you: Luminous basement by the Tourists : if you look closely you will recognize Anni e Lennox and Dave Stewart from Eurythmics. Their previous band was called the Tourists and back when I was collecting Everything Eurythmics, Luminous Basement was hard to find to find, we ordered it from England. Still a good find I think.:)
I had a ton of those albums in the 80's.
Wow what a nice clean collection. Vinyl is getting harder and harder to find (in the wild)
BTW Klark Kent is the drummer from the Police (Stewart Copland) have a listen if you like the Police.
Thanks for sharing!
Drool. How nice that post-punk and early new wave music is getting solid $$ right now. Even the cassettes do comparatively well.
Holy Licorice PIzza! amazing collection to find!
I saw Adam Ant in concert when I was a teenager! Best concert! I love ALL of those albums. I sell them quite regularly out of my booth for good money. 😄
Me too - 11th grade - The Romantics opened
I bought out a collection from a yard sale that had that Herb Alpert Whipped Cream album in it. I still have it somewhere in inventory, unlisted of course
I want all of those albums!
So impressed you love Missing Persons, as do I! What a 80s Vinyl Collection!
Last week at a garage sale I found a bunch (40) of late 80s early 90s posters. I took the 13 best ones (many were ripped): INXS, R.E.M., The Cure, Morrissey, and more. Bringing back all the memories!
They were so underrated imo, a lot of their song's still hold up I'd say
oh wow i woulda had to keep a lot of those. What was on the cure poster?
cool, would love to see them, thanks
Going to give them a listen right now, Telecomunication & Space age love song. Edit; Yea those are great songs.
Oh my I had to look up Wang Chung as I'm an 80s baby Brit and never heard of them. Turns out they are a London band but made it big in the US. Wang means yellow and Chung means bell in Mandarin Chinese. Yellow bell is the first note in the Chinese classical music scale
That is really cool trivia! Candice
AWESOME COLLECTION! And a great price you paid too!
I Highly regret dumping off my Vinyl Collection 15+ years ago to a dealer for $400. Most of what you got there was in my collection. I had almost every Cure, DM, Siouxsie, U2, Adam Ant, etc. If I were to replace the entire collection now, I would have to fork out well over $50k to get it all back. Fortunately I kept the 7" collection of about 1000 pieces.
And that Floppy Disc looking New Order Blue Monday single. The story behind that artwork - Factory Records Lost Money on that release. The Color on the edge has a meaning, and because of that request by the group, they lost money because of the cost of printing due to so many colors. And then it went viral in the club scene.
That 242 Record is FRONT 242. Industrial music. They are actually on tour again.
Back story on that Herb Alpert Record - She was pregnant when she did that photo shoot. And it has had more copied covers than any other album in history.
awsome vinylssss !!!!!1
very solid lot of records, nothing mega-rare and a few in the $5 range, but many of them in the $20-$60 range. Great score.
Some great music on those vinyls, my favourites too! At least couple of good ones for value too but I also noticed some maxis, common ones and records with "cut-outs" which are not so valuable.
Heaven 17 -Temptation my most favourite song ever
Those records came along right as I quit heavily collecting records in 1970/80s..but was looking for 1950s to 1970s titles...had several thousand albums although picked up a few of these.Sheila E., Yes, U2, etc ..interesting covers...no telling what that German audio components cost new..
It was kind of fun to see you get stumped at the things from Joy Division forward to Front 242 ... there are some WaxTrax records that are probably BIG dollars, as WaxTrax was in and out of solvency and had a few things like Ministry(?), KMFDM, Laibach, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, etc.
When The Tourists disbanded Annie Lennox & Dave Stewart formed The Eurythmics. Great haul of vinyl - well done! 😃
ohh I had no idea, thank you. I knew just about all of the groups/records but that one stumped me.
Oh my G---- I hope your buying those Lp’s to keep for your self it amazes me that you know who most of those bands are I’m 6 years older than you and I’m super jealous of that 61Lp’s wow in that condition then 80’s Car audio Blaupunkt Wow I’m absolutely amazed what a pile of gold damm that music brings back so many great memories I graduated in 1985 I was supposed to graduate in 83 but I was kept back a few times and I remember that stuff like it was yesterday wow you all got the greatest yard sales down south . Congratulations on that purchase I hope you at least record all those albums on a flash drive then sell the flash drives I’d buy one in a heart beat GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. # THANKGUY
I've got that floppy too...personal collection
I'll take them all!
I own that Cars LP just for the cover. This rivals my 80s lot I found. Twisted Sister, Great White, Night Ranger, Clash, etc. A buck a pop and flipped at the flea market for almost as much as online.
Funny story I almost bought Dee Sniders Shelby Dodge Durango when I was looking. But the bank wouldn't finance since it was a private sale. I could have done a personal loan but rates didn't work. He lived like 6 miles from me at the time
Whipped cream??😲. Don't forget the paddles. 😚😁
I loooooove finding good vinyl at sales. I’m 38 years old and am not a big music guy necessarily, but appreciate the heck out of the good music of the day and love selling and shipping vinyl. Just wish I saw more good stuff and less Johnny Mathis
Because of what Lonnie said about A Flock of Seagulls, I found my copy in my record collection and am now listening to it. It sounds so fantastic. Good score on the records.
Sweet! What's your favorite 3 tracks on that one in order?
1)Space Age Love Song
2) I Ran
3) Telecommunication
It’s funny we like the same songs. I was so happy to see you get the deal from “Guy”. Enjoy. Those are some great albums. I was also a big fan of Missing Persons.
@@daviddarnall2367 good list. I might have “I ran” higher but I think I’ve just become numb to it. Listing these records has been great fun, I’ve been playing a track from each one on RUclips while photographing
junk drunk. Love it
Wow can’t believe the condition of that vinyl
Great collection Lonnie . Just a note Yaz was a solo female and Yazoo were a boy and girl band. Different. I watch from UK every day. Great content. Check your video . Guy is seen....
Yaz and Yazoo are the same thing. Yazz is something different. A little confusing for sure.
80s pop - you got my attention! I'm not sure I'd admit to knowing about a Flock of Seagulls if I didn't have to...(LOL) Yaz - Allison Moyet had some pipes on her! That was the era of Britpop and one-hit-wonders. Guy had a TON of britpop. In fact, he had the record collection I wished I'd had in high school and college.(LOL)
Space Age Love Song is one of my favorites. It's probably why Angels and Airwaves is one of my favorite bands. Really similar sounds. -Candice
My brother's neighbor was a judge and moving out because his wife had alzheimers and going to a home. He had a dumpter in the the driveway and was throwing away everything. I got early 80's vinyle that was all alternative...his son was there that collected it. It had U2 from Germany, Spain, England....and a ton of other bands. So far I've sold for over $2000 and still listing. Also got some art work that I haven't touched. I know one piece its aroung $5000. I've also used many pieces to decorate my house and sold others for a lot of money. Just a free day loading my minivan probably would be a 10,000 bill if I sold everything now. Never know what you will stumble across. BTW, Old Punk and Hardcore Albums are gold!
Take out that Front 242
Some cracking albums there 😮 seen quite a few of them live human league OMD heaven 17 👏👏 great video Lonnie and Candice and Guy 👍
I was thinking this stuff would be right up your alley when I was editing this one Panzer
@@shedflips certainly is Lonnie thank you great watch 😊👍
Absolutely, my apologies for the cringey Johnny Rotten impersonation lol
@@shedflips 😂😂👍
👍
Platinum Blonde is a Classic Canadian Rock Band
Soul Assylum Did the same cover but it was Clam Dip.
Flock of Seagulls brings me back to freshman year of high school. Dated a boy that tried to look like them-floppy hair and parachute pants!
Stand and deliver, the money or your life ....prince charming huh prince charming huh ....amazing vinyls ..mint condition too.
I just listed Converse All star shoes and checking my last payment after item sold and found out there is a $4 bold listing fee for Converse All Star that has not sold yet, and tried to read what is bold listing fee and still don't know what it is, can you please explain?
IIRC it is a fee that EBay charges so that your listing appears in bold print. It really goes back to the days when the listings were literally just a list of the listing titles. Back then bold text made your listing stand out.
It's an option under the title that has to be checked when creating the listing. You probably clicked or tapped on it and checked it by accident. -Candice
I would screamed like a little girl if I got this collection for $100
I'm 1 minute into this and SO OUT OF MY MIND. What you are showing is already everthing I lost to burglers while I was away on an archaeological dig. I had ALL OF THESE! So sad. Had a ton of 80's Punk and Hardcore!
I'm sorry that happened to you. I'm intrigued that you were on an archaeological dig though! Is that your current profession? -Candice
@@shedflips Thanks Candice. I did work as a shovel bum for some time. The world of Archaeology is extremely fun but getting steady employment with actual benefits is really cut throat. You have to be on your game and making people notice or someone will be right behind you to replace you. I wish I could make it work but always looking for the next gig and living in tents or mouse infested trailers got old. Nobody can party like a group of Archaeologist, though. The hookups...aww the hookups. Never a regret and all fond memories but not a profession if you want to settle down and start a family unless you get a PHD and have something to offer.
I'm 56. I am in heaven
+1
Blau Now
Records Are A total Knew grade thing With different information
I just saw frogging flips pay 300-450 A record
Thanks for sharing Ging Go blast some music ❤❤❤
Beth I'm not sure what you are saying with that first sentence? Think there is some auto-correct going on there
@@shedflips They grade records like they do cards-Comic books
Hey Lonnie, I'm interested in several of the records you bought. Not sure if they're listed or if you plan on keeping them for yourself.
I'm going to start listing them tomorrow Robert, I might keep a couple but I'm planning on selling just about all of them. I might keep The Cure, Missing Persons, The The and a couple others to display in the shed.
@@shedflips definitely wanting both Smith's
@@robertharris3781 They won't be listed until at least the middle of the week. Lonnie had to order mailers. -Candice
Have you ever thought about opening an antique booth?
Really surprised there was no Kraftwerk or Devi in that stack
Candace. Please tell Lonnie to chill on the Red Bull's before looking at records. ... LOL
It was actually a Starbucks double shot drink 😂 -Candice
Blue Monday 12" by New Order is the biggest selling 12" single in the UK
Amazing song takes me back to school discos
if you love that music you should have been in the uk when it first came out a fantastic time
That PIL album should do good since they got that new Sex Pistols mini series out.
the laugh is also in a Samantha Fox song....I think it is originally from Samantha Fox:)
ohh there we go. i figured it had to be a sample from somewhere. so odd
I was soooo wrong!:( Apparently the laugh comes from Yazoo's 1982 track "situation"...made by Alison Moyet.
Sorry for the cultural pop derailment:(
That is the track on the record I showed. It’s Yaz in North America, instead of Yazoo. I love that kinda trivia lol
Had an Asian classmate change his name to sound more American. Changed it to Wang Chung.
11:47 que llevado
Man must be rough to negotiate with a dude wearing your channels shirt. Lol
yeh that was a little weird 😄
@@shedflips my guys tend become buyers of my best stuff at my cost and they still want swag!
Klark Kent is Stuart Copeland from the police.
oh cool, never heard of it
Platinum Blonde are Canadian … they were huge here in the 80s
Lonnie and Candace I feel your pain when it comes to hunting for vinyl. I've been hitting a number of Estate Sales these past few months and the majority of LP's I find look like the owner was snacking on the jackets or was using them as flooring. Lots of stuff my parents owned like Montavani, Herb Alpert, etc. lol.
