dude..... please wire wheel the floor, patch the holes, and por-15 it!....
and put some insulated jute to keep the heat down
looks like craig didn't like ur advise he didnt like ur comment 😬
I think this is supposed to be a flip. But I totally agree esp since he has the cool Eastwood floor grinder.
Betting he doesn't have the money. Really hoping he has the want! Need more people to put out quality!
You really should treat that floor, or you will have floor vents soon enough lol. Nice job on the shifter, very similar to gm's older transmissions. A better option would be to drill and tap that dowel pin hole and machine a bolt to the correct size for the slot, then you have a threaded dowel.
You should cover the floor with rust converter
I had an 85 Ford Ranger. the shifter one fine day wouldn't change gears. Took the shifter out and the ball at the bottom was plastic and had broken off. I went to the Ford dealer expecting to pay a couple of bucks for a new plastic ball. No they only sell the whole shifter at that time $109.99. I got an idea to go to a machine shop and he welded a brass ball on the bottom of my old shifter and had no more trouble with it. That cost $5.00. My last Ford.
When you drive an old truck, there's just shit that you gotta do! My 83 ranger had a good floor when I parked it, only got back to looking at it 17 years later and no floor left on the driver's side, LOL.
Seat cover is on upside down. The part you have on top is the seat bottom because the flappy bit is pockets that are on the front of the seat to put stuff in
Horray! finally! so glad you addressed the gear shift. Thanx 4 tha vid Craig. Truck looks super good.
A catalog from LMC trucks will blow your mind.
(The catalogs are free)
My Brother drive a 61 F250 4x4 all through HighSchool and for several years after until I sold him my 86 F350 4x4 TurboDiesel. He still has it though the turquoise paint is faded from sitting in the sun for over 20 years. He has a black light bar in the back and everything, other than the color it looks identical, blew my mind d when I scrolled down to this vid. Can’t wait to show it to my brother
Love the truck man I got a 77 f250 ranger custom that I’m trying to fix up as well
Now that’s a cool truck
nice! i own a 76 f250 4wd w the np235 myself. owned it for over 15 yrs
I got a 77 F250 Highboy
@@davy7757 NICE
Davy 775 mine is a highboy as well
the pockets go on the front of the seat base
16:00 I probably would have cleaned up the floor of the truck a little bit with a wire wheel on a drill, or a flap disk on an angle grinder. I wouldn't bother trying to make it perfect, just get rid of all the flaky rusty metal and all that dirt and grime. Then, I would have given it a rattle can paint job, and laid down some sound and heat barrier (like Dynamat or Flatline Barriers for example) to not only create a heat barrier between your feet and the underside of the truck, but also eliminate road noise. Then.......install the new carpet. 18:14 For your heater box, go to Home Depot and get some aluminum tape, it's used for HVAC systems in buildings to seal up loose fitting joints or other leaks in the air ducts. Cover the hole on your heater box with the aluminum tape, and then cover that with black duct tape (color match as best as you can) for strength. Duct tape alone will not seal the hole. It won't be perfect, and it won't look great, but it will cure the problem until you can find a replacement heater box.
I appreciate the info! I’ll look into it.
It would be nice with bucket seats. My dad's '65 Ranger came with bucket seats and a center console from a '65 Falcon Sprint out of the factory.
This truck is turning out awesome man the interior is killer, if you quick color the blue away and make some aluminum plates for the old speaker openings it would be super clean
That trans is a T-98, the 3 nubs behind the shifter are in front on a T-19. Also how come you didn't clean and paint the floor before installing the carpet? Was looking forward to watching that.
Had a 91 f250 with a 7 tree with a T19. I stand by those t19s. Heavy duty AF
I love the truck I got a 72 f100 I’m working on and I have a 86 f250 I’m currently driving as well
Looks good so far, if I would have thought of it last episode I would have mentioned the pin for the shifter
That steering column angle looks wrong, it looks like a automatic column. Good that you did the drill bit fix on the shifter.
All the 61-66 f100's are the same angle on the steering column, it wasn't until a little later on that manufacturer's started moving the columns higher for more leg room and comfort. It can be really annoying if you happen to have 3 large humans in the cab at once, lol!
I have a 1962 F100 4x4 it looks different. Maybe it just the steering wheel is smaller.
I absolutely love the quality of the ACC carpets (I got them for my trucks through Stock Interiors also) but they do take a lot of trimming and fitting. It's nerve wracking to work with lol. But it definitely transforms the look of your interior to have fresh clean carpet.
If you want the camera to focus, draw a happy face on masking tape. Put it where you want the camera to focus.
Listen to Cleveland Maker. The truck is to nice not to do it right so its good forever. You usually spend time making things right , give the old truck a good life. LOL
Truck.looking good so keep up the great work
You better pull that shifter back out and paint it gloss black. Dangit!
For the Blue in the cab.. I have a local Oreillys that has a paint matching machine/spectrograph.. that will put the paint in spray cans. A little pricey.. $25/can. But dead on match. Or you could find a hair darker maroon and use. Darker paint blends better than lighter.
Your enthusiasm is contagious! Truck is coming along really well. Like it
Interior looks good. I’ve used carpet from Stock Interior and had to trim/cut as well. Quality of the carpet is great though.
Looking forward to the next video
Looks great, enjoyed the video.
Looks real awesome came out super good..am impressed...are you going to tint the windows to that would look good also
Most of those trucks that you have came as a column shift two wheel drive. Not much need for them to make holes for transmissions and transfer cases. Interior looks so much better though
Y'all from Alabamaie? My cousin Cooter down in Mudflaps restored cousin Billy Bob's truck like that, of course Cooter could not afford that high price stuff y'all used but Billy Bob was really impressed. He was so impressed and happy he finally married our cousin Maribell. They took it to the lake to go fishing for their honey moon. Their kids stayed Ma and Pa.
Good job. I just paid 500 to have a carpet installed. Even though it is a rust free Florida truck I had them coat the floor with
Por-15. I have a 2001 Dodge 3500 with a Cummins.
Wow what a great transformation and the DIY repair to the shifter was brilliant I must say . Cheers
Nice job kid!!!
Loving this truck so far! Seat cover is cool.you can also buy a custom cover and reupholster it yourself for under 200 bucks and the result is even better. Did my c10 and learned how to recover a seat.
But, it’s better to have too much carpet then to not have enough! Looks way better now!
You got the seat cover up side down
I love the projects they’ve really gotten me motivated to work on my dentside
Looking forward to more vids Craig
I'm gonna do the shifter fix on my 65. It's got a lot if play too. Thanks for the video.
Maybe find a cheap rubber boot for the shifter
without a shifter boot, the wind under the truck will cause the carpet to rise up. ask me how I know
you should get a set of the old school kc smiley off road lights for the roll bar
Now time for a new duel exhaust set up with glass packs.
I was afraid that I ordered the wrong carpet kit for my truck but it turned out exactly like yours did, too wide and too long, I'm glad I didn't ruin mine by trimming it up.
Main reason why I pull the OEM carpet out as careful as I can so I can overlay it on top of the aftermarket and cut the holes where needed and the same size. You can still get the shifter bellows to sew into the carpet for the shifters. Shouldn’t the shifter have a pin on both sides or was that the NP trans that had dual pins?
Think you were missing at least one bolt on your transmission bell housing.
Looking good man
Yes I’m stoked!!! Cool video and project!!!😎👍🏼❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Interior looks great. Two thumbs up on the shifter repair. It will be much more pleasant to drive.
when i ripped the interior out of my 64 el camino it was pretty nasty too, but i sanded, painted, and installed kilmat sound deadener and now its nice, im going through the heater core and a/c now its gonna make a epic movie when im done, just waiting on parts then i will finish filming it. first 5 episodes on my channel now.
That amazon bench seat cover is gonna self destruct in about 9 months or sooner. I got the exact same one i put on in september and now whenever i touch the top, shiny fiberglass like shards come of and stick to my hands and arms
I got the same seat cover on amazon. The sun destroyed it in about 4months. Nylon dust every where and huge holes.
Should wire wheel the floor and put rust resistant paint down before the carpet
18:49 mustang at the left new car? I know he's been wanting one of those mustangs
It’s my buddies car who took the last couple thumbnails.
That would make for a fun vid ;)
He has a nice car 👌🏾
That hole on the driver side is 100% to put a beer in
For the seat, try some hog-ring clamps and tighten it up to the seat frame ,will make it look much better.
I have that same upholstery on my 73 f100 ranger
Are you going to keep it? I wish I could get it. I have a 2000 with a 5.4 auto pulls real strong 4x4 posi track rear. Would not trade it for anything is a lariet black gold trim. Keep on keepin on!
Why don't he is somethin galvanize steel for your heater Box it's easy to make into whatever shape you need as easy to cut it is riveted in were obviously with a little glue and propane on it!
It's been hot as hell up here, too. On top of that, it's fire Season around here.
Some one heated up that 4x4 shifter and bent it like that it should be a gradual curve from the floor coming back.
what that access panel was on the passenger side. Is that for like an old battery box oh the interior is looking great and the shifter fix made a big improvement but yes I would have treated that floor.
Now ain'tcha glad you did this Craig, Looks & works great now. I still think though you should have laid down some Eastwood or POR-15 Rust Preventative on that floor. Even though your in Cali it wouldn't HURT for the age of that truck.
“I guarantee you I’m not gonna miss third anymore!” *ominous foreshadowing*
He gon sell it first!!!! Lol
Tko swap hopefully lol
At 4:59 it sounds like the great value version of the music fromPass Me By -ICP
That's really starting to turn out nice
Okay so are you going to make a custom headliner for this one ???? like the f100 I think you should!!!!!! But a different style for this truck
Did you give up on the 64s ?
I know its a bit unconventional but what you should do is treat your floor and fix the holes and raptor liner your floor
Looks good bud you might want to paint the inner tire wells like the frame and bed etc
Should use eBay carpet would only cost you 100.
Great job on that shifter Craig!
Love them
Why put carpet in a truck with holes in the floor board?
Now the truck will be a lot more fun to drive now you can get it in gear. 👍🏻
Once again another good job done hey I think I would paint the blue spots in the cab black maybe? 👍
14:40 when toddlers learn how to draw in the lines
The seat cover is on wrong the pockets are supposed to be on the bottom
Why not paint the blue with a nice glossy black? I think it would look sick with some contrast.
I’m just waiting patiently for that blue paint to get on your nerves enough that you fix it. I know it’s coming! When you got side-tract by the shifter play, I thought you were about to fix it then! I’m begging ya man! I know you can figure it out. Check with some local paint shops about what code that color is????
I like the little f 100
Nice
Looks a lot like my 64. Is that the right grill for the year?
You should clean up that floor and put something like Rust Bullet on it.
Sooo love that truck. If I had the money, I'd be down there from Oregon with a trailer! Todd the retired trucker.
An old license plate is a cheap way to sculpt the heater box back to usable. Once black you won't see it either
T-19 has a synchronized 1st gear. The T-18 is only synchronized in 2-4
Awesome. The only thing that bugs me is the massive wrinkles in the carpet. I’d never be able to let that slide
Would have been nice to find (if possible) a carpet that was pre-cut and would just drop in
with no fuss.
Yea would’ve made it so much easier.
Are you gonna keep it or sell?
You should definitely colour match the outside and repaint it
Holes are going to allow water and dirt up into the new carpet.
Utes lookn so freakn good man 👌👌👍👍👍
Find a steamer to shape carpet
Now it’s time to adjust the steering gearbox PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
Seat covers are upside down. The pockets are at the bottom.
The seat cover is upside-down the pocket goes on the bottom looking at ur firewall
Yessir
Thats a T18 craig i got one it says on the left side of the trans
Great trans, easy as pie to rebuild and will last forever with some new synchros, bearings, and gaskets
spray paint the shifter black
Love that truck. But this video is taking on a wax mechanic vibe to me.
