I have always believed AJ was quite beatable even before the MSG disaster and the later back to back loses against Usyk. I'd still pick him to beat Zhang comfortably and probably stop him in the later rounds though.
Zhang looked great Saturday. Joyces game is dependent on his opponent not hitting hard enough to stop him coming forward and landing a lot of shots though. It's a different fight between AJ and Zhang though. AJ hits harder than Joyce and for all he does get caught himself, his defence is also way better than Joyce's. I still think Zhang's gas tank is open to question.
Having said all that I don't think for 1 second that it will happen. There's the matchroom/Queensbury promotional divide in the way and also AJ is rebuilding. I think the potential Wilder fight has been a ruse to keep people interested while he stays busy and improves. I don't see him fighting anyone dangerous before next summer at the earliest.
