I feel like pros over exaggerate 60fps. As a PlayStation player, 60fps isn’t even that bad, pc players just overreact and say “it’s so bad I can’t barely pick up weapons” when it’s literally normal frames for us

So... I guess I'll explain.
When I first got my pc and I saw 120 hz for the first time, I thought to myself "Wow, this is so smooth." But over time it just started to feel normal. When I decided to switch back to 60 hz, it felt really jaggedy.
Yeah, pros say it's unplayable and they're kinda right. But all they really have to do is get used to playing on 60 hz and it'll work itself out.

should've fully embraced "Switch Mode" and also dropped your resolution to 720p lol
The nintendo switch has a small screen, while lachlan has a full sized monitor. So while the resolution would technically be the same, the switch would have a much higher ppi at 720p compared to lachlans monitor. Not only that, but if he is using a 1080p monitor (im not sure what he uses so im including this just in case), you would have a really weird ratio to downsample by, causing the theoretical pixel pitch of the 1080p downsampled 720p to vary, causing an even worse image. Obv that wouldnt be a problem if he uses a 1440p monitor but again idk if he uses 1080p or 1440p

For those who don't know, you want to cap your fps to a number just below the average framerate it would normally get while playing the game. The reason is that it can save resources and allocate them to the game in case something happens that requires extra computing power meaning you won't stutter and drop frames as much. Playing on uncapped or way higher above your average means that you're always running at max power and when something happens that needs more resources from your pc, you drop frames and that's usually when your game starts feeling rough and not smooth.

The human eye thing isn’t true when it comes to gaming and stuff, that 66.5 fps you say is irl and physical things moving irl, on a gaming monitor that has say 360hz will most definitely feel smoother and give you a slight competitive advantage

I’ve played on switch and DANG it was tough at times but then you get used to it

the best part of the switch is that the internet connection is also worse on average, so try that with a fair amount of packet loss lmao
The human eye can see infinite fps, if you compare 60fps and 120fps side to side there is a difference (if you dont believe me there are videos, look them up), and life is IN infinite fps, there are no frames irl, yes to the human eye 60 fps is "smooth animation" but the more frames you have, the better advantage you have above other players, also when you get a new pc always make sure to go into settings and change your max fps (of the monitor you have) in the settings of your pc, otherwise you will be at the defult 60 fps no matter what setting you change in a game

If you didn't notice a difference the whole video, sometimes RUclips renders videos below 720 or even 1080p at 30 fps, which is the lowest in the video. If you go into your settings and change it to 720p60 or any number with "60" after the p, you'll notice a difference

maybe a human eye can only see 60fps or a better term hz(herz). But it can see or watch way more, but we don't know what the limit is.
I'll say that for watching something the difference between 60fps and higher wouldn't be noticeable but when you're playing a game and really focusing it would probably be different
as a top level player with a crapy pc, yes, frames do win games, i get like 120 on average but i get massive lag spikes every few seconds where i cant move or my frames dip to 0 and every now and then i will straight up lag out cause my pc cant handle the loads from the game, and after having fortnite open but not playing a game for longer than 30 minutes ill have to restart cause then ill have a match where ill lag the entire time on 500+ ping and 10 fps max, and to people who say dont blame your system or wifi for losing, i absolutely can cause i almost always lose cause of it, i have to play in a specific way to try and predict when ill lag so i dont die, and i still get unreal every season

I play on my school laptop with my fps fluctuating from 0 fps to 60. I play with my little brother and one of my best friends. They are equally as laggy, and we have won back to back games. Once we won 3 in a row. Very rare occurrences but still. On average, 30 fps isn't actually that bad.

You can actually play 60 fps on switch if have a TV, and I think it'll be better with a monitor and capture card
On behalf of the switch community (30fps) and 700 ping usually (i play on mobile hotspot) i want to say that im somehow unreal and quite good

I used to play on mobile varying from 5-45fps depending on if I stood still or other players were in my FOV 😂
But to make it better (not!) I had displaylink adapter to a monitor which added about a quarter second lag to the display!
All I could do was get a SMG and charge at players (no flicks, no tracking, nothing).
Nin Swith was a step up in stability (but the kids used that)
Then I finally bought a PS5 (60FPS) for them and it looked great and was so smooth.
Got a second PS5 and ran it at 120FPS which is tangibly better.
Its not bad but I do notice the 60FPS set up as feeling coarse and grainy more than laggy.
At the end of the day FN is fun and playing with friends and in easier lobbies still makes FN enjoyable with wins possible regardless of set up.
Or, in summary Lachlan try 5FPS on mobile next 😅!!!

I have a 3050 TI laptop and a Ryzen 5 5600H and I used to play on 30 fps but after a bunch of optimizations now I play with 80
I still playing on my xbox one s and only runs up between 20 to 60 and still hit champs in solos during season OG its really hard because it lags every time i got shot or when i shot somebody
I play on switch and I always think that it only gets laggy when it is frame by frame (yes my switch can lag like that) and I can still sometimes pop off vs either same skill pc players and PlayStation players 🦞
You might not be able to really see FPS higher than 60, but really it's the motion which feels smoother and your brain definitely registers that. Ask any normal human if they can tell the difference between 60 and 120 and they definitely will.

in nitendo i had 11 low and 12 high fps which was stupidly difficult to play fortnite and then i got the ps5 which looked like a 200 fps upgrade but it was only 60
As a switch player i can confidently say 30fps is hard to deal with. Just playing on my friends playstation every now and then is like a whole new game. Not to even mention how bad the details for everything on a switch is compared to every other way to play fortnite.😅
30fps is playable on switch because the screen is slot smaller than a monitor so you only need 30fps on switch for it to look like a 30 inch monitor with 360 fps
True pros will be able to dominate at 60 and 120/144 fps. Higher is simply rapidly diminishing returns. I will say, for me, 60 fps is so choppy compared to 144, and I thought 60, and even 30, was smooth before. Anything above that and I bet I wouldn't notice a thing.

Ik I use PS5 but my TV only alows me to do 60 FPS and it feels good imo. Probably cuz I have never used anything above it but the way Lachlan is saying. It feels like mine is trash

I know you have a pc but you should try playing on a office monitor thats how I play Fortnite and it sometimes drops to 3 fps or lower
I play at 60 on PC. I wish my PC was better and then I would run higher frames but 60 is fine enough. It's perfectly playable and not laggy in the slightest.
