That's one of the best things that their company did for them with the Bon Voyage series, I think. They gave them tasks or missions of everyday tasks budgeting, grocery shopping, and taking public transportation, including in foreign countries where they didn't speak or read the language. Between Run, Bon Voyage, and In The Soop, they've learned a lot of life skills that are necessary for a more ordinary life.
Yes, these series helped them immensely. I feel like they got a taste of a 'normal life' during these episodes, finally got to feel what it's like to be a regular person, during mundane chores that usually the managers handled for them. They've grown up in such a weird environment, so it's not surprising that the basic life skills are somewhat a luxury to them. It's crazy to think about.
They definitely learned a lot of stuff. But, they still didn't live completely normal during those series. They still had cameras everywhere, even when they were sleeping. Even though I love their content but I wish bighit would actually give them real vocations instead of filming it all of it. What I mean is. If they have 10 days, I would rather 4 days being filmed and the rest is just a real vocation for them. They are open enough with us, but they still need their privacy on vocations and actually enjoy it. Even 1 of the members said that they usually get 3 weeks vocation once a year (except for their 2019 vocation and 2021 christmas vocation). They deserve more rest with such a hectic schedule that they even sometimes don't get enough sleep.
@@minniemoniekookie They may have cameras all around them, but during Bon Voyage, the cameras only filmed them as they tried to do ordinary tasks for themselves. My point was that after that series, if the cameras were absent, then they'd still be able to go grocery shopping, etc. They don't consider shows like Bon Voyage to be an actual vacation. Just las season of In The Soop, RM flat out stated that it was work for them and he questioned whether or not it was really okay for him to relax and have so much fun while working. When he went on his museum tour in December and when Tae and, I think, J-Hope went to Hawaii, there were no cameras. That's when they were really on vacation. My point was that Big Hit created these shows for ARMY's entertainment but they also took advantage of the opportunity to help prepare the boys for the time when they retire as idols and live more ordinary lives.
@@psychokitty71I think there has been a misunderstanding. I definitely agree with you about that. They did learn a lot of useful stuff. It was a very good experience for them. It looked like they definitely enjoyed filming it too. It was entertaining as well to see our boys spending their time in those places. Bighit is really awesome enough to do that for our boys. My point was that I wish that the boys get more rest, as they deserve rest for such an all-time full schedule. But, I guess I forgot that the boys are used to this. As you mentioned, Jimin and RM were questioning if it was okay for them to rest, which obviously is. But then the other members also agreed saying that they need like 3 days rest and they don't know what else to do other than work. I honestly respect their passion and love, for them to want work that much. They also work from the bottom of their hearts, they don't work with pressure. Which is something I am glad about. I was really happy when they got this current break for 2021 Christmas but was sad as the members who got covid in christmas didn't get to spend christmas with their families. As long as they are happy then we are happy too.
One thing we have to remember and acknowledge about RM, is that MANY MANY people with high IQ's simply don't know how to do common sense things. Their brains simply don't work well on that level. Combine that with the fact that not only were they young when joining BTS, but (at least, eventually) they had people around them that did a lot of this stuff for them, or reminded them to do these things because of their intense schedules and touring.
This is 💯 true. I married a person with genus IQ he drove into work the same way I took him when he interviewed for the job. 27 years, if there was a wreck he would just sit on the highway… but the paper that he wrote for his doctorate is still being used by the college for their accreditation… they need help with daily life. We have twins one like him one like me, the one like me takes care of the one like him at the same time the other thinks for them. They are 34 now and 1 is married but it has been fascinating to observe. 💜
I think the thinking that it takes to be at a high IQ can sometimes be very complicated. You just think about things and process things differently. When you get down to simple tasks or common sense things, it doesn't really fit through that process. I don't really know how to explain what I mean.
I agree with you about life skills. We don’t know these things inherently, so we have to learn them. But BTS don’t exactly have the time and sometimes they don’t have the space to do so safely. I know their managers have to handle a lot of things for them, so they really don’t have the chance to learn. That’s why I liked their Bon Voyage series so much. They got a chance to experience things on their own with a little less assistance from their managers.
Yes! I thought the same thing when I watched through the seasons. Some of it was hard to watch. The lost passport, particularly. That was a hard lesson. Jimin leaving his suitcase on the bus. The limited funds and the budgeting was so good for them but I felt bad when they were hungry.
Wow never thought of it like that 😀. But actually that's so true. Learning life skills through your own experiences. Now I'm thinking that maybe some programs like this could be implemented for adolescents and young adults to prepare them for the future. But of course it's not really possible cuz not everyone has bighit's budget 😂😂
@@anu5880 I also happen to think it otherwise, they have been indulged in busy schedule of Idols, never experienced the life outside. These activities really means much to them. Cooking, washing dishes, grocery shopping. Every day to day activities they live them on their variety show. Now I can feel really feel the excitement of Hobi when he made a kite. 💜
I love Namjoon. He is such a warm person. I remember a vlive when Jin says Namjoon makes him think God is fair 😂 bc even tho he is so smart and capable he is also so clumsy, lacks common sense sometimes and is innocent in some areas. But I would also never want to be on his bad side 😬
I always believed the reason they made up Bon Voyage and In The Soop was so they could 1. Get rest but mostly 2. So they could learn some "normal" skills like checking into an airport, buying groceries, cooking their own meals, traveling without guidance etc. I think Bang-PD recognized they need rest but they also need to have some everyday skills for when they don't want to do this anymore.
Someone once told me that cuz geniuses run on a frequency so different from others that they do stuff which we can't do easily. But find it extremely hard to do mundane everyday stuff.
I am so proud that even his busy schedule Namjoon doing great. As hobi said He got triple work compare to other members as a leader. Even he gets phone interviews. Hobi said Even in LA, namjoon was working in busy schedule
The editing flow of that video is really awesome. The way it opens up with birthday live footage and ends with recent birthday live footage. The way they show little moments throughout without showing the conclusion of those moments only to show the conclusions in the ending section of the video. I really appreciate the way that video was put together!
I can relate to RM a lot. Even though I'm an adult now, my friends or parents follow me almost everywhere, just to make sure I'm fine. I never crossed a street (a big one) without someone grabbing my hand or shirt.
If you lay out their ages in order Namjoon is right I the middle so I refer to him as the middle child in this family and as a middle child myself we tend to be the peace keepers the ones who break up fights remind others of whats important the good times etc we can emphasize with the older siblings and the younger ones wing as we have one foot on each side that’s what makes us good and companionate leaders My respect for Namjoon is 💥
It's not just other members, they are surrounded by managers 24/7 who take care of them. That little flat where all of them lived together? Well it was 8 ppl living there, another room for a manager. You can actually see it with many idols, especially who got into industry real young. Most of them are pretty useless in routine everyday tasks, bc they skipped those during their development. It goes for emotional maturity too. Which is why I hate how early they debut kids these days. They don't get to develop properly. BTS got lucky that all of them are genuinely nice people, surrounded by nice management under a nice CEO, that's virtually impossible for the rest of the kpop to have all three of these at the same time.
Rm is so cute aside of him bieng cool leader he is like a kid 💜 I think you can do this video for everyone it will be so good from the same channel I think
I watch a Korean guy on RUclips, and he said his dad is a Korean singer (didn't say who) He told stories on his channel that when he was a teen his dad asked him stuff like how to use a can opener. That can seem crazy but it makes a lot of sense really, singers are constantly surrounded by managers and staff that cares for them. Suga once said that they're all a bunch of dummies who can only sing and dance hah (it was Bon Voyage s1 think) But yeah, aside from that Namjoon is extremely clumsy and doesn't know his strength thus breaks a lot of things so that sure doesn't help with everyday life skills.
it's actually very common that genius people are terrible at life skills. i think it's because the brain gets so used to overanalyzing everything, that for easy things it just shuts down or maybe it's because you don't notice them bc you're so occupied with other things on your mind (that's why i think they're clumsy too)
