Great ! First version " Si vous estes belle " from 1549 (given in opening and closing in the lute tablatures after the " Fantaisies ") in Phalèse Carminum. It gives an idea of the great importance given to the tune which was certainly a song : Just found out the words of the song are certainly from the famous "Clément Marot " : Ad Fabulam ambitiosam in laude (LIB.I, EPIGR.LXV). It matches perfectly with the tune, with the second title " Les Bouffons " and with Clement Marot's death in 1544 ; five years before the first print. Most songs from Marot's poems where edited after his death. Merry Christmas ! All the best ...
@@mroldnewbie Yes, great ! Published by Jean d' Estrées in 1559. TIERS LIVRE DE DANSERIES _ Contenant I Les Bouffons 12 4v Les Bouffons = 1571 N° 3 by Pierre Phalèse and Jean Bellère, publishers. All the best ...
Knighthood was only for men. But sometimes aristocrat women received similar training and temporarily led husbands armies. In Brittany during 100 Years War France vs England 2 Breton aristocrat women aided by England violently resisted French also violent attempts to seize autonomous Brittany. These 2 Breton women were Jeanne de Belleville later de Clisson called the lioness of Brittany and Jeanne de Flandre called the Flame of Brittany. Both women were not only commanders but preferred the bloody hands on approach(or at least Jeanne de Belleville did). There were queens who were heads of state and commanders in chief BC AD probably on all continents
