  • Ramechhap Airport is a domestic airport in Nepal located in the Ramechhap district, about 132 kilometers east of Kathmandu. The airport is located at an elevation of 4,950 feet above sea level, and it provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including the Himalayas. The airport is used as a base for helicopter flights to Everest and other Himalayan regions. Most flights to Lukla Airport are operated from Ramechhap Airport. During the peak Everest tourist season, the airport served 24 flights per day to Lukla Tenzing-Hillary Airport.

It is part of the Solukhumbu District and the Sagarmatha Zone, along with two other subregions called Solu and Pharak. Khumbu is home to several villages including Namche Bazaar, Thame, Khumjung, Pangboche, Pheriche, and Kunde, as well as the renowned Buddhist monastery at Tengboche. The elevation of Khumbu ranges from 3,300 meters (11,000 feet) to the summit of Mount Everest, which stands at 8,848 meters (29,029 feet), the highest point on Earth. The Khumbu region includes the Sagarmatha National Park and the Sagarmatha National Park Buffer Zone.
