In no other year have we done so much to both aid and rescue elephants. Whether sending food to help elephants in camps , buying/leasing land to grow sustainable emergency crops, training mahout families for secondary incomes, sponsoring elephants to free them from camp service, and rescuing those elephants in urgent need. We get calls on a daily basis from elephant owners in many places. They want our foundation to help take care of their elephants.
We cannot help every elephant for obvious reasons. The Park is challenged for space and shelter facility. But we always consider how we might be able to make matters work well when faced with pleas for help and animals in need - care of the old, disabled, injured and sick fulfills our mandate. That is the story of the last three elephants whom we have rescued from the tourist camp. These three old grandmothers had to service tourists for many decades. It is Time for them to rest and remain free.

As if? LOL. Elephants are one of the most Intelligent creatures!! Not only are they sentient, but highly intelligent. Ofcourse they understand. It's the humans who are shit and don't understand that other being understand.

There aren't enough happy elephants in the world.
Imagine being a huge creature in the world and then you're going to be free to finally have some comfort in this life with the rest of your family.
I am as old as those elephants, and cannot imagine spending my entire life in captivity. Seeing this rescue brought me such joy.
I just love to hear the elephants "rumble" to each other. Elephants are absolutely amazing!

I'm crying too. I can't imagine what they've been through, and to finally be in a place that is safe for them. I'm feeling so much, and that is nothing compared to what they've been through and what they're feeling.
I can't cry anymore because I am so sickened by the fact the #1 reason for their loss of habitat is cattle farming. The dwindling number of elephants and rhinos is for hamburgers.
I like how the woman at the end says that the elephants "are going to feel so loved." Wonderful!

I cried both in sadness that our species put them through such horrible things and times and also in relief that a few of us (the great folks at ENP) are also helping them to stop that and help them have the life they truly deserve.

It makes my heart hurt when I see these amazing animals look like they are in poor shape. I am so glad they are free and now they will have the chance to live out their lives as God intended. Bless the humans that have taken on the responsibility of caring for these wonderful animals.

I never heard an elephant make that sound like a cat purring - they must be super happy. Your work is so amazing and we need to see more people like this who help.

Heck, elephants and humans share similar traits when it comes to sentience, forming societies, moarning their dead, using many different sounds to communicate, to name a few!
Intentionally abusing other sentient species and subspecies is unfortunately nothing new.

So absolutely happy for these beautiful gentle giants. I am so upset at the abuse of these elephants by evil human beings. What kind of human does this? How do they sleep at night? How do they live their lives after abusing and toturing an animal? How do they look at themselves in the mirror and not see the evil In their own eyes? God bless all of you for rescuing these elephants, And bringing them to a beautiful sanctuary where the rest of their lives will be free and full of love, friendships, and family.
They sleep at night the same way people sleep at night while supporting the meat, egg and dairy industries. We can justify anything to ourselves yet point fingers at others. We're not better than them, just differently bad.
@@camez2345 I agree completely! If I had my way, no animal, by land sea or air would be killed. I hate all of it. But these elephants, in which the video was about, are terribly abused and nearly becoming extinct. Babies are torn away from their mothers after seeing it's mother killed and then taken away and put through terrible abuse themselves. Or putting up snares to capture elephants where the poor elephant is left to die or are found by sanctuaries who find them and rescue them with terrible excruciating wounds needed to be treated to save their life at enormous expense to the sanctuaries. Thank God for all of them and what they do.

There are many humans around the world living in comparable misery to support the lifestyles of the wealthy and the middle class but we still sleep at night knowing this. Its great to know projects like Save the Elephants exist but we have to do much more to change the world economy that creates so much misery in the first place.
@@Telonelemon3 Wrong, there is actually a food surplus in the last few decades and as you may have heard the amount of food wasted in just the US would feed many if not all the starving people. The problem is that the economy is based on maximizing profit not maximizing the number of people fed or even good quality, healthy food.

Oh my goodness!!! I love to hear elephants "grumble", and they're not even angry. Elephants are also intelligent, loving, gentle animals on this planet, especially when they are loved/respected.
