I actually think the makers of John Wick used fight scenes from this movie as inspiration for their own. Along with the stylized fighting in The Matrix. Only they did it better. I love this movie. The lighting and simplicity of the sets worked really well, amd really brought out the acting. Angus Macfadyen was the standout for me - brilliant performance.
Sage Mann The gun used was the Beretta 92FS, the clip for this gun contains 15 rounds. Take that plus one shot in the chamber and you got yourself 32 shots.... Still perfectly feasible!
I think the best part of this movie is that the main bad guy behind everything put up more of a fight than his second hand man. Like, there’s a reason he’s the one in charge and he gave Christian Bale a run for his money before ultimately dying.
It’s cool that the movie gives an in-universe explanation for the kinda goofy gun play and sword play. This gun fight is so over the top, but since we know that this exact style is trained by all clerics, by this point in the film, we accept it as completely normal.

Christian Bale really sells this silly gun Kata thing, and this Cleric actor (I don't recognize him in anything else) is really good!

And if the purpose is to destroy the rebels by manipulating one of his own man, why Dupont didn't choose Sean Bean who is already in the resistance? Why did he ask to kill him and manipulate Preston to all start over? No sense. And how can you get married in this world with no feeling. Usually the wedding should disappear by himself, with no feeling; no bond or attachment. No, in this world without feeling it's a good thing to have a wife and children, a true family. And you can't have dogs because it's too dangerous, you risk to feel…….. so you take a drug to have no feeling but you can't have a dog because you risk to feel but you can have a wife no risk here. No sense. And an other thing, when Brandt arrest Preston he screams and he shows, in public, anger proud and envy he is supposed to be the perfect example of no feeling. The director made a movie and didn't understand his own rules. So a good message but not a new message and very bad way to explain it. With this all contradictions, it's not sup rising if people don't understand. This film is poorly made

It would be cool if video game developers incorporated the semi-melee gun combat style of this movie into their games. Obviously the idea is that its all "mathematical" in some way, and they have trained constantly not to make mistakes, so it would have to work differently in a video game if there was a significant difference in the physical strength of an opponent; I noticed that both the guys in the end fight of this movie are around the same size.

Any movie can debated on artistic merits, but I guarantee you Equilibrium will always be remembered better than Exodus Gods and Kings and anything Bale does with Terrence Malick.

Obviously the idea is that its all "mathematical" in some way, and they have trained constantly not to make mistakes, so it would have to work differently in a video game if there was a significant difference in the physical strength of an opponent; I noticed that both the guys in the end fight of this movie are around the same size.
