You didn’t need to make the sound design absolutely amazing, you didn’t need to put subtitles, you didn’t need to put awesome chemistry videos. You didn’t need to sound adorable. You did it anyways and I love it.
I love the subtitles! And when the listener layed on your lap and sound went through one ear was genius. At points I really felt like I was really there
Interestingly enough, if you listen to the parts where you laid in my lap and only leave one ear in, it’s not silent! It’s a delicate balance but without that dark noise it wouldn’t have had the same effect and it would just sound like your headphones haha
My best guess is three things: reverb panning and the most important one, distance, reverb to give it that S P A C E it needs, panning i feel is kinda obvious, distance is a combination of volume, reverb, and volume quality. Basically the volume is how far the sound is, reverb to have it still be in the space your in, and volume quality is the most important for this, ynow if their supposedly playing a sound through a high quality speaker it shouldn't sound like its a poorly VHS bootleg, also other factors like if theirs something infront of you and the sound or if it's supposed to be relaxing you shouldn't distort and compress it as much as you can. Thats my best guess though and I'm probably off but I'm not an expert on sound design, or design in general I'm a musician not a designer, hell I can barely name something let alone draw something.

I like to think as him as the Radiohead of Furry ASMR. He's almost normal but too many oddities to make it normal, but still normal enough to be known by many in their respective genres
