I loved this series. The chemistry between John Goodman and Michaela Cole was unbelievable. They are both fantastic actors. I think this was a story that needed to be told.
I loved it and recomend everyone to watch it,it was educational,it had mystery, it was informative, it was captivating,it was interesting, it had, action, thriller, suspence, drama, love, romance. I wish there was a season 2.
This one I cried I laughed I yelled because I learned about this as a child my father homeschooled us kid's and he made sure that we learned just how it is Satan's spirit moves on the surface of this Earth to and fro when it comes to human beings dominating each other to their own injury which taught me to question everything!
I enjoyed it. It serves now as footnote present-day politics where we’re seeing the rise of nationalism (which is essentially code speak for targeting and blaming the other.) The acting was really good by all.
And that was a deep thing she said because I'm from the West I'm automatically involved do you see the guilt that even my sister from England the guilt we carry when it comes to our people and that's being human we feel that way all the torturing and mistreatment of any people and that's where this world has to pick itself back up with God's help to see the humanity in each other first.
Why are so many scenes featuring someone throwing up? I mean the characters spend half the series vomitting and throwing up. I got cancer so i'll throw up. Im in Rwanda in a car s i'll throw up? Way too many throw up scenes.
I noticed that every episode each character shares one thing and act of some sort. I think that episode where they all (or most of them) threw up, they chose vomit to bring them all together.
I saw one episode 1 of the series, and that it for me, not say is not good, but it not grab me like that, then again was try watch anything I fall a sleep shit put me to sleep 😂
I think that this Netflix show should actually learn about the actual history about Rwanda. And even they should’ve actually tried to get Rwandan actors who know actual Kinyarwanda. And also should’ve consulted the government of Rwanda. As a Rwandan this show is an embarrassment, and propaganda about the country.
So sorry you feel that way. Most people have really enjoyed it though and don't feel anything negative about your government. Guess you're just sensitive as you live in Rwanda. I can understand that.
I binged-watch the entire series of Black Earth Rising within 48 hours. It felt so real and painful like I was inside the movie.
I loved this series. The chemistry between John Goodman and Michaela Cole was unbelievable. They are both fantastic actors. I think this was a story that needed to be told.
Michaela is so gorgeous 😍 those cheekbones are everything
Isn’t she? I can’t stop looking at her. Wow
I am so excited I found this. Just because Michaela is in it, I will watch on netflix.

The evil lawyer is the show runner! Brilliant show!
Excellent show! Goodman and Coel gave terrific performances.
Watched in one siting, so compelling! Love Micaella from bubblegum from before so I loved her so much!

Michaela Coel is so oddly beautiful to me. I can't take my eyes off her. She commands attention when she speaks. She's awesome.
“Oddly”?
I enjoyed it. It serves now as footnote present-day politics where we’re seeing the rise of nationalism (which is essentially code speak for targeting and blaming the other.) The acting was really good by all.
be curious and learn to forgive!!
Remarkable.
is it just me or does Hugo Blick also play the arrogant lawyer in the series?
Yes just noticed the same! Apparently he is also a brilliant actor...
Sad story movie great job 💔❤🍹🍹🍹well doing
It's probably more efficient to mic each person rather than 1 boom mic. It's hard to hear John.
I was sick in bed so i binge watched very interesting.

Why is the audio so low
In this interview, Ms Cole, was thoughtful and smart, but it looked like Goodman was nodding out many times. Is he not well?
Already saw it on BBC 2. Great start but starts to falter a bit towards the end. Still good nonetheless.
Nah, it's good all the way through.
COEL.
Hugo Blick played Blake Gaines SOOOOO WELL. I HATED HIS CHARACTER SO MUCH - his annoying scoffs and arrogant remarks.
The fact that he annoyed you means jet did an excellent job!
Why are so many scenes featuring someone throwing up? I mean the characters spend half the series vomitting and throwing up. I got cancer so i'll throw up. Im in Rwanda in a car s i'll throw up? Way too many throw up scenes.
Yes, I was wondering if that was thrown in for a reason. Still gross to see.
they are symbolic and bring humanity to the characters
I noticed that every episode each character shares one thing and act of some sort. I think that episode where they all (or most of them) threw up, they chose vomit to bring them all together.
It's called, trauma.
Ha ha. Never noticed that. Guess you're just very sensitive to seeing people vomiting. Also it makes sense in those scenes.
I saw one episode 1 of the series, and that it for me, not say is not good, but it not grab me like that, then again was try watch anything I fall a sleep shit put me to sleep 😂

Exactly 🤦🏿♂️ I couldn't watch past the second episode. Total embarrassment!!
In what way? Was it “ whitewashed” or was the story , not true, in the plot?
So sorry you feel that way. Most people have really enjoyed it though and don't feel anything negative about your government. Guess you're just sensitive as you live in Rwanda. I can understand that.
Yeah she definitely doesnt look rwandan
