Why “dead spider”? I’m guessing it is because you flop your left hand on its back with your fingers sticking up in the air, like a dead spider might be on its back with its legs sticking up?
Although the video is clear, the terminology is not. My queries: (1) 'loom'....where is the weaving being done? Why not use the known terms 'wrap', 'loop', 'ring' or core thread'? (2) RODS? You are actually using reverse stitch. Check this out with Mary Sue Kuhn (The Joy of Split Ring) and Anne Orr books that feature 'the ring with reverse stitch'.
