    So how does this work with the myogenic auto regulatory controls of the kidney? I've learned that when the afferent arteriole stretches due to high blood pressure, ATP is used. The macula densa cells of the DCT sense this ATP use and produce a vasoconstrictor chemical to constrict the afferent arteriole, and therefore slow GFR and prevent the loss of vital molecules. Is this just a difference between systemic blood pressure and GFR?

      Yeah, well, that would happen too along with the neural control, but this system is just closely related with reversing RAAS

    Very good explanation 😊 Thanks alot. But why is it related to the atrium?

    • @DrBruceForciea
      @DrBruceForciea  6 лет назад

      Thanks Remanence...ANP is secreted by cells in the muscular wall of the atrium.

    • @emhoianh
      @emhoianh 6 лет назад

      DrBruce Forciea Oh right because im sorta confused. For instance BNP is secreted by the heart ventricles in regards to its stretch and is used to diagnose heart failure. So does ANP in this case do the same, it stretches in response to the increased blood volume or is there another mechanism by the atria to detect the rise in BP?
