I was born in Massachusetts but left to live in New Hampshire and it was the best move I ever made. Everyone I know in Massachusetts wants get leave I don’t blame them.

Same, moved out west, far better quality of life and affordability.
I love New England, and if it wasn’t so screwed up I’d probably go back.
But based on the current trend, there’s no chance.
The progressive agenda seems to be toxic, for both San Fran, and Boston.

It's a damn shame too. Boston is a bright, vibrant city in a hisorically steeped area of the country. With the exception of rough winters in New England, the climate is mostly pleasant. Boston is also a medical mecca with some of the best hospitals & doctors in the world. The change of seasons is also a welcome part of living here. Idk, Boston has far too much going for it to let it fall into the hands of fiscally irresponsible leaders & the bad consequences that result.

Massachusetts is on the path to become unsustainable. Unfortunately the wealth creators will have to protect their wealth and these liberals policies will drown the middle class.
Great Channel and I support you talking about more than real estate.

Every government program creates its own support base of beneficiaries - from welfare recipients to government contractors to public employees - who fight hard to protect their funding. These groups are typically well-organized and politically active, making it extremely difficult for politicians to cut their programs without facing intense backlash from motivated voters.

MA should bring back the welfare fraud investigators, with the task to find, expose, and stop the massive fraud among recipients and Dept employees/management,
      .. because it's rampant

Good thing the same person who put San Francisco into financial ruin is now in charge of Boston’s spending. No literally. You can’t even make this up😂. Failing upwards is the norm when it comes to government….

At the expense of sounding like a townie, no disrespect to Charlestown, absolutely NO ONE FROM CALIFORNIA SHOULD HOLD ANY POLITICAL NOR GOVERNMENT OFFICE OF ANY SORT IN BOSTON AND THROUGHOUT MASSACHUSETTS. Period. She needs to resign immediately. Get out. Leave our city and state.

It’s like the financial crisis. Commercial RE is still a bubble. Its actual value post COVID is a fraction of what it was, because office workers are now remote workers. Once they’re marked to market when the contracts run out, a lot of rich people will be left holding the bag. Of course they want to pass the bag on to taxpayers instead.

SF Boston NY....all sanctuary cities, all broke. I have nothing against orderly planned immigration! If anything, we need immigration for our country & economy to grow. We just can't randomly throw billions of dollars to support non-citizens when our own citizens need help.
I don't think mayor Wu has bad intentions, I just don't think she had the skills for the job. Mayor Walsh had the city running beautifully while Commissioner Gross had crime under control. Like any other profession, you have it or you don't. Not everyone can make it to the NBA, nor can just anyone run a city. I know I sure couldn't, hence I didn't ask for the job!
