  • Flinders Ranges Swimming?
    Welcome to another episode! Our Flinders Ranges adventure continues.
    Setting off from Blue Range Station we head towards Wilpena Pound to camp.
    We aren't taking the highways though, it's the 'back way' for us. Along the way, we discover a secret swimming spot, a ghost town and some indigenous rock art.
    It's not all happy times though as we have a caravan rookie fail and get dust inside the van!
    Join us as we discover more of what this amazing region has to offer.
    You can always see what else we're up to by following us on Facebook and Instagram (links below). See you next Sunday!

    The cyclists were doing part of the Mawson Trail. Different way to appreciate the world, and get a taste of caravanning!

    I know the roads you travelled on and they are certainly not off road they are just dirt roads we travelled there just recently towing our leaf sprung 3000kg 22ft van no problems we then went to Arkaroola again no dramas nothing broke just very dusty outside.

      It's pretty off road for a caravan. When does it become off road if it's not when it becomes dirt?

    • @Sabumnim666
      @Sabumnim666 Год назад

      @@TheLifestylePioneers Well the road regulations for designation define roads a number of ways eg main arterial highways, secondary roads dirt roads namely unsealed from here they become tracks or secondary unsealed these last two definitions are the understood definition of off road. To assume only sealed roads are actual roads would mean that over 60% of Australia's roads are off road.

    With regard to the gas vent, is that under the bed? Does it have to be opened each time you setup camp?

    • @TheLifestylePioneers
      @TheLifestylePioneers  2 года назад +1

      Hi Martin. Yes it's under the bed but it is accessed without lifting the bed. You can either remove it at each camp if you're using gas and re-install it when travelling or leave it out all the time and just put them in when on dusty roads. Either way it's a 30 second job.

      @@TheLifestylePioneers Thanks for the reply. There is a guy on RUclips called Graham Belby who filmed a Zone 20.6 Base handover about a month ago on his channel. In that video I can see the same vent below the bed but he also mentioned that a skylight/vent was installed in the roof above the bed for gas compliance purposes. I’m hoping to visit Zone in March so I will enquire about venting. Some vans put the vent in the door and then positively pressure the van to ensure dust doesn’t get in.

    Nothing worse as a cyclist, being overtaken by a caravan where the driver forgets that the caravan is wider than the car.....just sayin....
