Michael Waldron, the screenwriter from the Loki series, Multiverse of Madness, and now, the one writer who worked on both the Avengers Kang Dynasty version of the story and now on Avengers Doomsday, revealed in a Reddit AMA at least one key detail about the Young Avengers, how they would have connected to the Kang Dynasty that we saw in the post-credit scene of Quantumania, and how they could still be involved in Avengers Doomsday (2026)!

The Young Avengers won’t be young by the time they get around to putting them in movies!
The Slightly Older Than We Intended Avengers
😂😂 The Young Adult Avengers
Nobody wants them lol
@rip.van.winkle_that's a lie
True
‘He who remains’, genuinely, is still one of the best characters. I re-watch his episode at the end of Loki Season 1 regularly.
Season 2 he was sooo good in that one too.... That Kang was a little different... A little nastier... Loki was sooo damn good
Right, it was just that captivating
The last episode of Loki was actually my favorite. Normally, you see the hero physically fighting the big bad, but I like how the previous episode went more with dialogue. The dialogue hard carried, and it's not even close
Loved Loki kind wish there was more 😭
But after the reveal he wasn't that interesting
3:57 10000% did not understand this decision at all. Opening the multiverse left so much opportunity for recasts if need be, and they blew it
Supposedly it was contractual. Majors had it in his contract that only HE could play Kang or his variants. No idea why Marvel would have agreed to that.
Same
The Kang storyline clearly wasn't working, the conviction was just an excuse to pivot
@MRLONG758 100% this
having 2 Avengers films within 7 months would HAVE BEEN INSANE
I was never a fan of
Avengers 5: Kang Dynasty
Avengers 6: Secret Wars
IW + Endgame adapted the Infinity Gauntlet storyline from comics
Kang only works as big bad if :
Avengers 5 : Kang Dynasty Part I
Avengers 6 : Kang Dynasty Part II
As much as I love doom I really wish we had kang cus we’ve had no build up to doom what so ever
Indeed!
This is why I believe doomsday will flop, cancelling such a great movie because of a false accusation is incredible the build up for Kang dynasty got us all excited only to be left hanging.
@amattissflop? avengers movie? let's be real here, an 'Avengers' movie will always not flop no matter how great or shitty the storyline is, especially after IW and Endgame
@KOREGAmaking Doom an avengers X-Men and fantastic four level threat without a backstory is crazy
@amattiss It's literally called DOOMSDAY you think the movie won't establish anything about DOOM in his movie?💀 It's very easy, they already did it with Thanos in IW.
If they'd not moved away from the Kang idea, I think both the Ten Rings, and Kamala's bangles, would, when resized using Pym-tech, have become key components of the Temporal Loom we saw in Loki S02, with the version of Kang in Kang Dynasty being post-Quantumania/pre-HeWhoRemains.
This 100 percent!
If you don't understand what that means (i'm guessing many of you don't) then ask yourself this question: If we read your screen pitch, what is the motivation for any character in your description? There is none. It's just a bunch of "way finders" with "dark magic that only the sith knew!". You mention 3 character names, Loki, Kamala, and Kang, but we have no idea of what the hell any of them are dong or why. Because your screen pitch doesn't care. Screen Pitch: *So the movie can happen....the movie.*
@summertyme5748 Macguffin 6: the return
I can see that happening now that you’ve said it
Loki just did exactly what Kang wanted him to do. Kang left the equation on the board for a reason. He wanted Loki to take his place.
0:19 I do like that logo but it’s depressing that the “young” avengers will be full grown by the time that the movie comes out.
Tht thing that would’ve been so good about the build up too the Kang Dynasty is literally every villain could’ve been a variant of Kang in separate movies
I feel like I'm the only fan that was looking forward to Kang Dynasty.
Naw, Kang is a dope villain. Sadly, we may never see him.
@obmarte3803fr deadass I loved seeing millions of different variants of kang with different powers that’s honestly soo cool
It was also soo cold how he talked about he killed thor asking Antman if he was the one with the hammer . It was cool how they were setting him up
I was looking forward to Kang too!
It’s harsh that he got booted from the film
"I am the Lizard Kang, I can do anythang!"
Lol 😂
So they replaced an innocent man with a person with a criminal history 😂
Exactly
@FREE_WILL_DEFENDER No?
I believe Jonathan Majors original contract mentioned that no one else could play Kang right now. So not recasting him is possibly a legal issue they had to wait to clear before going ahead
I'm no law expert, but surely someone being convicted of a crime wouldn't violate some sort of "morals clause" that would then render a sort of stipulation like that void after the fact?
It would. But look at the timeline of things that happened. Marvel was already going to scrap Kang before the court case. It's better this way. Kang doesn't work without the Fantastic 4 plus Apocalypse and the X-Men. It's a better move to scrap the character for now and wait until we have one universe after secret wars
@kevinw712yup. I should have scrolled further to read this so I didn't waste my time explaining that to them. 😂😂
That was just a rumor. I’m pretty skeptical.
I think Kang coming back would be good. But they really gotta be creative. Kang ain't dead.
The breakfast club getting quoted on NR is interesting
what about second breakfast club?
Michael Waldron and Jeff Loveness look like a temu version of Henry Cavill and Jared Leto
Kang was so good in Loki
12:33 yeah right he wanted to say Maphisto
I feel like at this point, Disney are the only ones who don’t want to see Jonathan Majors’ Kang on screen.
Had veel liever kang dynasty in plaats van doomsday
i can still see the young avengers fighting the lizard kang specifically as a possibility since they would not need mayors for it and it would be a nice revisit to the character with no compromise of it coming back
Correct me if im wrong but didnt his contract say marvel couldn't recast his Kang character. I think that would've had a for so many years clause
Majors gonna come back. Watch.
@cieramorgan9116they dont care.. and you shouldn't either.. its a trash franchise since tony died or zero reason
If anyone is wondering the storyline that gets talked about starts at 6:10. He spends half the video going over the drama with Majors 😂🙄
I appreciate how you cite where you guys get your information
It's interesting because Loki S1 established variants played by different actors
3:36 i cant take this anymore🥀
67
67?!??
if I like and unlike its 6 and 7 im in tears rn
It haunts me now my brain is actually rotted, when I hear those numbers my heart drops.
The reason why Marvel kept showing every Kang Variant was the same actor was because that was in Major’s contract that he wanted to play every version, Marvel had to do it or he could walk.
You’re most likely right. I find it funny, though, that people are faulting Marvel after the fact, as if anyone could have envisaged the legal issues that ensued
@ayoomisope6563 They're most likely wrong. Highly doubtful Disney would give a near no-name actor that kind of power over how they're used in a billion dollar franchise.
@ElmoTFHe wasn’t a no-name actor
@ElmoTFhe wasn’t a no name.. and it’s been proven to be true that’s what his deal was
Plot twist, they were actually going to need to defeat Kang, the alien from The Simpsons. And his accomplice, Kodos.
I just wish they didn’t fumble Kang. I was really liking the lore they were giving to the characters
A KANG DYNASTY FULL CAST STAGE READING WOULD GO SO HARD
Dude just bring in Kang during the end of secret wars 😳😮💨🔥🔥🔥
I hope they cna bring Kang back someway somehow in the future. I dont care who plays him, just make him come back and annoy everyone in the MCU
Move on from the character. Marvel ruined Kang being a big bad
I hope they have Doom either destroying the Council of Kangs or mention it off hand. Wrap it up quickly.
@bigd4998 not just Marvel. Jonathan Majors himself did that to Kang
Annoy everyone?
@aditya.m3000like constantly reappear and annoy the heroes out 😂
PLEASE do a NR cast reading of that script im begging you
14:19 DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMFG I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
came here for this
Isn't the variant at 6:44 Lizard Kang rather than the one at the end of the shot?
That's what I was thinking 🤔
Lmao I was literally about to say the same thing
Came here to say this!
Kang Gang still !!! 😈👽👿
I’m never this early😭😭
Same
😭Same
same
Facts
Yeah lol I'm usually early as well.
During the office season 4 or 5, Jeff loveness was the actor who got off the bus with Michael and Andy after they were heading to Mexico to work with a bunch of students for a church group. After the bus stops and one kid gets off with them, that kid is Jeff loveness
Nobody cares.
The idea of the villain being a Kang on his first day on the job sounds cool ngl
I would LOVE to see a reading of the script leak
9:50 would have been perfect and most likely explains the conection of these three being together in Marvel Zombies
The "it's my first day" Kang idea is hilarious, and would have been a fun way to kick things off.
Yep
I disagree personally. I've never been one to complain about Marvel humour or whatever but this just makes the threat of Kangs seem like even less of a threat, even moreso than what Quantumania did. They can't keep treating everything like a joke and expect us to take it seriously.
I almost think it feels far too low-stakes for an Avengers film. Usually these movies thrive on very impactful decisions and their consequences, and the Young Avengers killing newbie Kang feels.. off? Particularly with such a “comedic” explanation as to why those actions would have been for naught.
Agreed. At this point only a few people are aware of the Multiverse at all. Going in to beat the final boss, then realizing it's only *one* of him would be a good setup for the rest of the film.
Don't sleep on Skaar (baby-Hulk).
I wanted Kang so bad... Love the timetravel stuff
Space between stars is one of my all time favourites.
Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop, Riri Williams, Cassie Lang, America Chavez, Kid Loki?, Elijah Bradley?, Vision, Billy Kaplan, Agatha Harkness? & Tommy Shepherd will probably do a Children’s Crusade to find Wanda Maximoff in Doomsday.
Yall should REALLY make videos about MARVELS 'Agents Of Sheild'!!!! It's sooo good!!!
3:37 flinched like an abused chiled
Jeff took a mental health break
Cannot wait to see the middle aged avengers debut
😊 Thanks, thumbs up, have a great day.
Always interesting to see alternate storylines but TBH I’m glad this version didn’t get produced. Unless Kang was gonna be full-on Kang and not run through of “first-day” Kang, I’m glad they shelved this. But even Doomsday seems like a troubled set as well, with too many characters and not enough time for a proper Doom introduction.
Say what you want about Jonathon Majors, he's a good ass actor. Damn.
💯
I called this. And I'm also still upset that it's not finished
my personal mcu fanfic ended with the A-Force vs Kang
Yeh it’s literally the only thing I think of now. I shoulda put “ “ around it too as it was a direct quote of “my name Jeff”
I want kang dynasty
4:10 or the fact that they recast Rhoadey and the CHARACTERS didn't notice.
i wish they would have just recast him.
I still want Jonathan Majors to play Kang. Please lets make it happen
I’d like to think that Zombies was an indication that at least the three we were shown was an indication of young Avengers still being in play for future movies
I thought marvel was back in talks w Majors since all the legal stuff. Still b cool to get Kang later down the rd. Had a lot of paths w that character
PLEASE please PLEASE do a reading of the kang dynasty script that you referenced. I also thought it was real very briefly until actually reading it. It would be amazing to have you guys go through it
We just can’t move past this can we damn.
Damn! I would have loved to watch a Young Avengers movie take on Kang the Conqueror
Hey hey an hour in. Hope they bring the h.w.r. storyline back with Loki.
never been less exited about a marvel project than I am for "young avengers"
Would be the biggest nail in the coffin
We Was Kangs. 😢
Oil up gangy. I am about to come 😊
@shahofsky😂
Kangs and shiiieeeet.
10:48 Bruh that's a card game not the actual Marvel Champions team which I'm pretty sure Peter Parker has never been a member of. He should stay away from any Young Avengers or Champions thing anyway the latter is Miles Morales' team
100%%%%%%% Yes. Exactly.
3:37 🙌
He could be a time displaced T'Chaka
Kinda stupid that they couldn't just recast him
They recast rhodie and hulk twice, but not kang
9:58 based on what we saw in the Marvel zombies TV series… I think this tracks. To have iron Hart and Kamala Khan approach Kate Bishop would also set up why they were hanging out altogether in marble zombies.
Also remember, Marvel zombies was made a long time ago…
This is great!
Thank you, great video :)
Make Kang just like the comics the end!!
omg please do a full read of the bad script, that would be amazing.
You had me at “Staged Reading” pleaseeeee do it
I hope we get that team of Avengers at some point, even if they have a few smile lines on their faces.
14:16 - Yes, please and thank you. Make it happen, NRS!
Why is this video so dark lol like literally got my brightness all the way up
I thought that he was a Skrull Kang.
Os Vingadores Brasil
It makes sense that the Young Avengers would have been in the Kang Dynasty, since one of the Young Avengers is/was a Kang variant.
Yeah but Iron Lad wasn't introduced or set up. Moot point.
@jesustappedpoint still stands... You realize the best place to introduce them would be in the movie named after him and his variants, "Kang Dynasty". 😂
@MashMalloman With no build-up whatsoever, just like the rushed Doom introduction? You should work for Marvel.
I like to see then in dooms day but after that I want a champions movie how they all met
Young Avengers is an essential series.
Please do a table read of the ‘leaked’ doomsday ‘script’. It is equally ridiculous if not more ridiculous than the kang dynasty one but yeah it would not surprise me if both are made by the same person.
Same robot: ChatGPT
I seriously seriously doubt they'll just ignore the council of kangs. Definitely they need to have at least 30 minutes establishing Doom. Like they have to. The only set up of Doom has been in fantastic 4, literally 5 seconds plus the latveria council seat being empty.
Personally I think that Doom annihilating his way through timelines until he gets to the council of kangs using Franklin Richards in some way sounds like a good idea.
Oh Yeahhh
Neat I feel like I havent seen your notifications in a while
Same
I really wanted Kang as the big bad. And for the next 10 movies each hero would battle a different Variant of Kang. Some will succeed some will die. It would have been a great arc.
You literally went past a literal lizard kang to the ape one😂
15:14 that’s Damwick Bidris
Shapphire and Steel protected the secret timeline already way back in the ’80s.
They worked for organizarion with multiple operatives.
I hope they release it in form of a comic after the movies come out
Cool
Honestly, I’m so excited on Kang Dynasty. Unfortunately, things happened. But I’m still looking forward to Doomsday.
The inclusion of the Young Avengers is pretty interesting, since the first YA story had the reveal that their founder was a young version of Kang trying to avert his evil future self.
I'd still love to see a YA series, even if the cast aren't so young. Anything with Kamala is is a joy.
It would to see how this turns out
This is amazing 🤨
"A little card saying it's first day as a Kang" - That seems to be skirted over as something serious??
Kang was the bad I was so looking forward ro, I mean he is an absolutely terrifying prospect as a villain in such a different way from thanos it would have been so cool
It was okay to switch War Machine and Hulk but not Kang ?
