  • In this video, I provide a walkthrough of the multilevel modeling capabilities of the jamovi program (www.jamovi.org/), which can be freely downloaded here (www.jamovi.org.... If you wish to obtain a copy of the dataset and the article discussed in this video can be downloaded from the authors' website (www.hermanaguin.... The article is well-written and provides an extensive overview of the steps involved in multilevel modeling, as well as a nice overview of how to model and explore interaction effects in the context of multilevel modeling!

    Great tutorial, succinct interpretation with real application. Please make more like this. Jamovi is officially my new go to stats package. Thanks 👍🏽

    I have a question, I have 115 leaders who filled a survey for 307 employees' creative behavior and those 307 employees filled up a survey of these 115 leaders about leadership survey. Do we need to use simple SEM or multilevel SEM analysis here?

    Hi Mike. What if we have control variables (e.g. age, gender, education level, and tenure) in our model? Do we enter them at step 2, 3 and 4 along with the L1 and L2 predictors and cross-level interaction?

    Thank you Dr Mike for this. Is it possible to analyse multilevel models with two (parallel and serial) mediators using Jamovi?

    Hello again, Mike :) I was wondering why l1id (individual employees) was not treated as a random factor (e.g. Intercept ¦ l1id) , the way that l2id (teams) was. Thank you!

    Please sir is multilevel mediation available in Jamovi? if yes, then where should I head to in Jamovi software? many thanks in advance.

      Hi Badawy, as of now I am unaware of any new functions that have been added that would allow you to do this in Jamovi.
      best wishes!

    Do you know if jamovi has a restructure function? That way I can move my data from wide to long format.

    • @mikecrowson2462

      As of yet, I don't believe it has a restructure function. I'm hoping that at some point in the future, this would be added. best wishes

    Does Jamovi also offer advanced statistics like Bayesian analyses and multilevel mediation modeling

    • @damiandropmann5852
      @damiandropmann5852 5 лет назад

      Yes, if you look in the jamovi library you'll find the module called 'jsq' that does a wide range of Bayesian analyses and the jamm module does GML mediation modeling (but i'm not sure if it does multilevel) you can check here mcfanda.github.io/jamm_docs/

    Hello Mike, I tried to download the dataset (JOM.csv), but no luck. Is there a way that I could obtain the dataset from you. Thank you.

      Hi Gamon. Here is a copy of the data (drive.google.com/open?id=1a6en_uBk9xrqAZQet4Loxvwzlsxg8GST) I downloaded from the site. Also, FYI, I just uploaded two new videos on multilevel regression using jamovi [go here: ruclips.net/video/LJIkyLCDTzI/видео.html for the first video; go here: ruclips.net/video/qXgrWDkJ__c/видео.html for the second video]. There are Powerpoints and datasets you can download under the video description to follow along. Thanks for visiting! Cheers!

    My version of Jamovi doesn't have the extra buttons you have on top! (I only have till Factor. Everything to the right of that isn't on mine, and I just downloaded the latest version! :( )

    • @mikecrowson2462
      @mikecrowson2462  4 года назад

      Hi there. You probably will need to go into the jamovi library and select the extra modules. That's all there is to it. There's a plus sign in the upper right corner that says Modules. Go under there to add the modules you want. Cheers.

    This would have been a perfect video if only the predictors' names were given a name that was actually meaningful. X? Wj? what do they have to do with quality of relationship with the leader and leadership climate, respectively? it was extremely hard to follow which was what and it took several viewings and increased frustration.

    • @mikecrowson2462
      @mikecrowson2462  4 года назад +2

      Hi there. Thanks for your comment. I'll be honest, the X and Wj are variable names in the authors' dataset and not what I put together. However, point taken. Just an FYI, I have a couple of newer videos up (including supplemental materials for download) using jamovi that are much more extensive and have more meaningful variable names. I hope you give them a try at: ruclips.net/video/HYMXPF-TyLo/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/EDp2Zkkbvvk/видео.html. Cheers!

      @@mikecrowson2462 Thank you, Mike. One small remark: perhaps the authors have changed the dataset in the meantime but neither the naming of variables nor the resulting values match their published paper or your youtube video.
